Tyler Moore hit a two-run home run and scored twice in Saturday's loss to the Braves.
Moore's homer in the fifth inning off Braves starter Jaime Garcia got the Marlins on the board and ignited a five-run frame for the Fish. The homer was his fourth in his last seven contests, giving him six in 35 games this year. After a super slow start, the 30-year-old is 13-for-31 in his last nine games to bring his season line up to a healthy .282/.303/.606 overall. Jun 17 - 10:53 PM

Tyler Moore homered and scored three runs Wednesday in the Marlins' defeat of the Athletics.

Moore slugged a solo shot off A's spot starter Daniel Gossett in the bottom of the second inning, reached on a force attempt and scored in the bottom of the fourth, and then drew a walk and scored his third run of the afternoon in the bottom of the fifth. Moore has an impressive .891 OPS with five home runs and 17 RBI in 33 games this season, but he's probably headed back to a bench role soon with Justin Bour's return from the disabled list rapidly approaching.
Jun 14 - 4:26 PM

Tyler Moore went 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBI in the Marlins' 12-7 defeat of the Pirates on Friday.

Moore isn't a major league hitter, but he can run into one every once in a while. He's done so four times in 52 at-bats since joining the Marlins a month ago. He'll continue to see significant time at first base until Justin Bour returns, but he shouldn't get much action after that.
Jun 10 - 12:20 AM

Tyler Moore went 2-for-4 with two RBI in a win over the Pirates on Thursday.

Moore had an RBI double in the fourth inning and chipped in a run-scoring single an inning later. It was his second consecutive game with two hits, one of which being a double, and he's now got three extra-base hits in his last five games. The utility player is hitting .229/.240/.417 in limited action this year.
Jun 8 - 11:37 PM

Tyler Moore launched a three-run homer Sunday in the Marlins' 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks.

Moore went deep off Diamondbacks starter Braden Shipley in the bottom of the second inning to give Miami a 3-1 lead. It was the only hit of the afternoon for the 30-year-old backup first baseman and corner outfielder, who's slashing .212/.229/.424 with two home runs in 24 games this season. He is not fantasy-relevant.
Jun 4 - 5:20 PM

Tyler Moore slugged a three-run homer in the Marlins' defeat of the Braves on Sunday.

Moore gave Miami the lead for good with his pinch-hit drive over the left-center field fence in the bottom of the seventh inning. The 30-year-old utilityman entered play Sunday with a .230/.281/.401 career batting line at the major league level. He's not fantasy-relevant.
May 14 - 3:48 PM

Marlins purchased the contract of 1B/OF Tyler Moore from Triple-A New Orleans.

Moore was outrighted off the 40-man roster last month, but he's back now that Martin Prado and Miguel Rojas are on the disabled list. The 30-year-old will serve as a right-handed bat off the bench and possible platoon partner for Justin Bour at first base.
May 9 - 3:13 PM

Marlins sent 1B/OF Tyler Moore outright to Triple-A New Orleans.

Moore had been designated for assignment, but he cleared waivers and will remain in the organization. He'll represent depth.
Apr 21 - 5:54 PM

Marlins designated 1B/OF Tyler Moore for assignment.

The move clears the way for Martin Prado's return from the disabled list. Moore, who made the Opening Day roster out of spring training, was 4-for-11 (.364) with a double to begin the year. He could draw some interest as a bench bat.
Apr 17 - 3:46 PM

Marlins purchased the contract of 1B/OF Tyler Moore from Triple-A New Orleans.

He cracked the roster following a Grapefruit League showing that saw him bat .308/.357/.673 with five homers. Moore will likely begin the season mostly as a pinch-hitter, but he could wind up starting at first base against lefties if Justin Bour's struggles versus southpaws continues.
Apr 2 - 11:42 AM

Tyler Moore hit a pair of homers off the bench to lead the Marlins to a 15-9 win over the Mets on Wednesday.

That's five homers for Moore this spring. Moore spent time with the Nationals four straight seasons from 2012-15, but he was traded to the Braves last spring and then missed much of the year. His only really successful stint in the majors came as a rookie, when he hit .263/.327/.513 in 156 at-bats. He posted OPSs in the 600s each of the three subsequent seasons. His hope of contributing to the Marlins would be a first baseman against left-handed pitchers, but since the team is planning on carrying 13 pitches, it wouldn't seem to have room on the roster to carry a true platoonmate for Justin Bour. Maybe Martin Prado's injury will change that, but even if so, it might only be for a week or two.
Mar 22 - 5:16 PM

Marlins signed 1B/OF Tyler Moore to a minor league contract.

Moore spent the 2016 season in the Braves' minor league system, posting a .227/.269/.382 batting line in 120 plate appearances between the rookie-level Gulf Coast League and Triple-A Gwinnett. The 29-year-old is a .228/.281/.401 career hitter at the MLB level.

Braves acquired 1B/OF Tyler Moore from the Nationals for 1B Nate Freiman.

Moore was cut from the Nationals earlier in the week and now finds himself in a situation where he's much more likely to garner both playing time and fantasy relevance. He's expected to report to minor league camp but should work his way up to a role with the big league club in relative short order.
Sun, Mar 27, 2016 04:12:00 PM

Nationals sent 1B/OF Tyler Moore outright to Triple-A Syracuse.

Moore was waived on Thursday as he's out of minor league options and wasn't going to make the Opening Day roster, but he appears to have passed through waivers unclaimed. He'll provide valuable insurance in the minor league and should be back up as soon as injury strikes either Ryan Zimmerman or Jayson Werth.

Nationals waived 1B/OF Tyler Moore.

He's out of options, which means he'll have to pass through waivers unclaimed before the Nationals can assign him to the minor leagues. Moore was hoping to back up Ryan Zimmerman at first base but it looks like that role will instead be occupied by Clint Robinson. Even if the Nationals decide to release Moore instead of out-righting him, they'll still be on the hook for almost a quarter of his $900,000 base salary.
