Getting a rare start at first base, Tyler Moore went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI against the Marlins on Monday.
It was Moore's first start of the year, which is still one more than Roger Bernadina has. Both projected to be among the NL's top bench players, but the Nationals have little for either to do unless someone gets hurt. Apr 15 - 10:00 PM

Tyler Moore hit a pair of homers Sunday in the Nationals' 12-10 defeat of the Tigers.

Teams in search of a bat may check into Moore's availability over these next couple of weeks. The Nationals don't have much of a role for him after re-signing Adam LaRoche, but he would offer quite a bit of pop as a starter against left-handers and occasional fill-in versus righties.

The struggling Tyler Moore homered in his lone at-bat Monday against the Braves.

Moore was hitting .222/.222/.278 with 11 strikeouts in 36 at-bats this spring before taking Aaron Northcraft deep today. The 26-year-old is quite a bit better than that, but there isn't going to be much for him to do in D.C. this year unless someone ahead of him gets hurt.

Tyler Moore laced a go-ahead pinch-hit two-run single in Sunday's 3-2 NLDS Game 1 victory over the Cardinals.

Moore took an outside pitch from Cards reliever Marc Rzepczynski and shot it into shallow right field, driving in Michael Morse and Ian Desmond to put the Nationals up 3-2 in the top of the eighth inning. And that score would hold. The Nats will try to take a 2-0 lead in the five-game series on Monday afternoon at Busch Stadium.

Tyler Moore launched a pinch-hit two-run homer in the seventh inning on Tuesday, leading the Nationals to a 5-3 victory over the Mets in New York.

Moore entered with the Nats trailing 2-1 and launched an R.A. Dickey knuckleball over the wall in left to give his team the lead. The 25-year-old outfielder continues to shine in a part-time role, now hitting .283 with nine bombs and 26 RBI in just 138 at-bats.

Tyler Moore blasted a pinch-hit two-run homer, accounting for all of the Nationals' scoring in a losing effort against the Phillies on Friday.

Moore has received very sporadic playing time over the second half of the season, recording just 27 at-bats in the month of August. While he remains an injury away from being a possible contributor in fantasy leagues, the 25-year-old is doing a decent job with his opportunities, hitting .278 with seven homers, 21 RBI and three steals in 126 at-bats on the season.

Tyler Moore launched a two-run homer on Saturday, powering the Nationals to a 4-1 victory over the Brewers in Atlanta.

Moore finished the night 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. He's done an extremely nice job whenever he's been called upon this season, hitting .301 with six homers and 16 RBI in just 93 at-bats. He remains an interesting option in daily formats if utilized properly.

Tyler Moore hit a solo home run in the fifth inning Tuesday, helping the Nationals to a 5-4 win over the Mets.

Moore has done a nice job as a part-time player for the Nats this season, hitting .312 (24-for-77) with five homers and 13 RBI. He’ll likely lose at-bats when Jayson Werth returns to the lineup in a few weeks, but Moore makes for an intriguing option in daily fantasy leagues in the meantime.

Tyler Moore is expected to start in left field against left-handed starters now that Xavier Nady (wrist) is on the disabled list.

In fact, the Nats have even discussed starting him in left field against some right-handers, which would push the struggling Steve Lombardozzi to the bench. Moore is hitting .308 (12-for-39) with two doubles, two homers, five RBI and three stolen bases over 20 games with the Nats this season. He's worth owning in NL-only leagues.

Tyler Moore hit a pair of homers and drove in five runs to lead the Nationals to a 6-2 win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Moore made his first start at first base today with Adam LaRoche ailing. The Nationals figure to start giving him more time in left field in the coming days. Moore probably won't turn into a long-term regular for the club, but he does have legitimate power and he'll likely prove to be an offensive upgrade on Steve Lombardozzi.

Nationals recalled 1B-OF Tyler Moore from Triple-A Syracuse.

Moore had just three singles in 19 at-bats earlier this season with the Nats. He'll give them some bench depth.

Nationals optioned 1B/OF Tyler Moore to Triple-A Syracuse.

He was sent down to make room for Jhonatan Solano, who will provide some insurance behind the plate while Jesus Flores recovers from a hamstring injury. Moore is 3-for-19 (.158) in 12 games with the Nationals this year.

Tyler Moore will start in left field Wednesday against the Pirates.

Nationals manager Davey Johnson is trying to stack his lineup with right-handed hitters against the southpaw Erik Bedard. Xavier Nady will make the start in right field while Rick Ankiel and Roger Bernadina will take a seat on the bench.

Nationals recalled 1B Tyler Moore from Triple-A Syracuse.

Moore, 25, has 31 homers in each of the past two minor league seasons and is batting .278 with six home runs and 16 RBI in his first 20 games this year with Syracuse. Moore has been used exclusively at first base in the minors, but figures to see time in left field with the Nats.

Nationals' prospect Tyler Moore will begin splitting time between left field and first base.

Moore has exclusively played first base during his professional career, but the Nationals want to increase his versatility. The 25-year-old has slugged 31 homers in each of the past two seasons and is batting .260 with five homers and 11 RBI over his first 13 games with Triple-A Syracuse this year. He could potentially be an option at the major league level if Mike Morse fails to make progress with his lat injury.
