The speedster hit just .258/.303/.323 over 30 games for Kansas City this season. Bourgeois is pretty much a glorified pinch-runner, but the 30-year-old will get a minor league deal from someone.

Jason Bourgeois had a solid night in Friday's loss to the Angels, going 2-for-3 with a run scored, RBI and two stolen bases.

With Lorenzo Cain sidelined for the remainder of the season, Bourgeois and David Lough will share time in center field. He possesses tremendous speed and could immediately become a major asset in mixed leagues should he find his way into regular at-bats. He's already stolen five bases in just 35 at-bats on the season.

He'll provide outfield depth while Lorenzo Cain (hamstring) is sidelined. Bourgeois has batted .333/.389/.455 in 19 games at the big league level this season.

Bourgeois has posted a cool .333/.389/.455 batting line in 19 major league games this season, but he's merely organizational depth. He'll be brought back up before long.

Royals recalled OF Jason Bourgeois from Triple-A Omaha.

He'll replace Humberto Quintero on the active roster. Bourgeois went 3-for-14 (.214) in his first stint with the big club earlier this season and was hitting just .205 in 40 games at the Triple-A level. However, with his speed, he could be an intriguing option in deeper AL-only leagues until Lorenzo Cain (hip) returns from the disabled list.

He was sent down to make room for Jarrod Dyson on the active roster. Bourgeois appeared to have a golden opportunity for playing time after Lorenzo Cain (groin) went on the disabled list earlier this month, but Mitch Maier has made the majority of the starts in center field.

The Royals' starting outfield is pretty set with Alex Gordon, Lorenzo Cain and Jeff Francoeur, so Bourgeois figures to stick as a reserve outfielder. The 30-year-old batted .293/.393/.357 with one home run, 16 RBI, 31 stolen bases and a .680 OPS over 252 plate appearances with Houston last year. He'll be arbitration-eligible for the first time after this season.

Bill Ladson of MLB.com reports that the Nationals have talked to the Astros about outfielder Jason Bourgeois at least three times since December's Winter Meetings.

The Nationals would use Bourgeois as a stop gap option in center field, though a deal is not considered imminent. The 30-year-old batted .293/.393/.357 with one home run, 16 RBI, 31 stolen bases and a .680 OPS over 252 plate appearances with Houston last year. Assuming Bryce Harper begins the season in the minors, the Nats project to go with some combination of Roger Bernadina, Rick Ankiel and possibly Brett Carroll in center field.

Jason Bourgeois has been dealing with tendinitis in his left wrist lately.

Bourgeois took batting practice Saturday for the first time since the Astros' homestand began on Thursday. He came on as a pinch-runner Saturday and stayed in to take a few at-bats, so the wrist clearly isn't a major issue.

Jason Bourgeois went 3-for-5 with his 26th stolen base in Houston's 11-inning loss to the Nationals on Friday.

Those 26 steals have come in only 82 games. Bourgeois will definitely deserve to be on the redraft radar next spring.

Jason Bourgeois went 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored Thursday against the Diamondbacks.

Bourgeois was also responsible for one of the Astros' four caught stealings in the game, which proved costly in the 6-5 loss. It was just the fifth time since 1994 that a team was caught stealing four times in a game. Bourgeois is 22-for-28 stealing bases in just 63 games this season.

Batting third in a "new look" Astros lineup on Sunday, Jason Bourgeois hit a three-run homer while stealing two bases in Houston's 5-4 loss to the Brewers.

"New look" in almost stunningly awful/amateur. The home run was Bourgeois' first of the season, but the swipes were his 21st and 22nd. His speed makes him worth an own in mixed leagues until he gets hurt again.

Jason Bourgeois will start in left field Monday against the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Carlos Lee will make the start at first base while Brett Wallace will take a seat. Bourgeois remains a serious stolen base threat, but barring injury or a trade, he'll only get sporadic playing time.
