Diamondbacks released INF/OF Kyle Jensen.

Jensen was designated for assignment earlier this month and has now been cut loose after clearing waivers. The 28-year-old batted .289/.350/.546 with 30 homers and 120 RBI at hitter-friendly Triple-A Reno last season and should be able to catch on with a minor league deal somewhere.

Diamondbacks designated INF/OF Kyle Jensen for assignment.

Jensen made it up to the majors for a cup of coffee in 2016 as a 28-year-old but now finds himself off the 40-man roster. The D'Backs needed spots in order to protect some players from the Rule 5 Draft.

Diamondbacks purchased the contract of INF/OF Kyle Jensen from Triple-A Reno.

The 28-year-old was having a monster year at Triple-A, slashing .289/.350/.546 with 30 homers and 120 RBI. It's unclear if he'll see enough playing time to be fantasy relevant, but he'll be an interesting player to keep an eye on over the final month of the season.

Diamondbacks 1B prospect Kyle Jensen pounded a pair of home runs Monday in a win for Triple-A Reno.

He drove in a career-high seven runs as the Aces cruised to a 10-1 win over visiting Colorado Springs. Jensen has been an absolute behemoth this year, hitting .299 with 19 blasts and a league-leading 83 RBI. The 28-year-old is tied for third in the Pacific Coast League in slugging percentage (.565), second in doubles (27) and second in strikeouts (114). Jensen has toiled in the minors for eight seasons but this could be the year he finally gets a big-league call-up.

Diamondbacks signed OF/1B Kyle Jensen to a minor league contract.

Jensen has topped 20 home runs in five straight minor league seasons and makes for an intriguing organizational depth grab for Arizona. The 27-year-old probably won't be in consideration for the Opening Day roster.

Dodgers sent OF/1B Kyle Jensen outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Jensen was acquired from the Marlins last month in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. He has yet to play in the majors, but he's hit at least 24 home runs in each of his last four minor league seasons. The 26-year-old hit .260/.331/.481 at Triple-A in 2014. With the Dodgers shipping Matt Kemp out of town, Jensen could have a chance to contribute at the next level in 2015. The Dodgers' current backup outfielders are Andre Ethier and Chris Heisey. Jensen serves as a nice bit of depth should the team be hit with injuries.

They needed room on the 40-man roster following the addition of Jimmy Rollins. Jensen was just acquired last month from the Marlins in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. The 26-year-old has yet to play in the majors but has slugged at least 24 homers in each of his last four minor league seasons.

Dodgers acquired 1B/OF Kyle Jensen from the Marlins in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Jensen, 26, has yet to play in the majors but has slugged at least 24 homers in each of his last four minor league seasons. He batted .260/.331/.481 with 27 homers and 92 RBI at Triple-A in 2014. It's merely a depth addition for the Dodgers.

Kyle Jensen hit a two-run homer off Drake Britton in the top of the ninth to lead the Marlins to a 5-4 win over a Red Sox split-squad on Tuesday.

That makes him 4-for-8 this spring. Jensen, 25, hit 28 homers in the minors last season, but it came with just a .235 average and 144 strikeouts in 447 at-bats between Double- and Triple-A. He's probably not going to make the Marlins unless he's a starter, and that seems like quite a long shot. Still, with the way Miami tends to shuffle through players, he could get a look later on.

Marlins purchased the contract of OF Kyle Jensen from Double-A Jacksonville.

The move protects him from December's Rule 5 Draft. Jensen, 24, batted .234/.338/.452 with 24 home runs and 84 RBI in 132 games at the Double-A level this year.

X-rays on Marlins' prospect outfielder Kyle Jensen's left elbow came back negative.

Jensen was hit in the elbow by a pitch during Tuesday's game. The area is still very swollen, so it's possible he'll go for further testing in a couple days. The 23-year-old outfielder batted .299/.373/.524 with 27 homers, 76 RBI and an .897 OPS last season between High-A Jupiter and Double-A Jacksonville and was ranked as the organization's No. 19 prospect by Baseball America during the offseason.
