Angels signed OF Andrew Brown to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Brown, 31, spent last year in the Korea Baseball Organization and hit .261 with 28 home runs and an .856 OPS over 137 games with the SK Wyverns. He last appeared in the majors with the Mets in 2014. The Angels could use another bat in their outfield, but we're not counting on much from him.

Brown has hit just .220/.281/.390 across parts of four major league seasons. The 30-year-old isn't a great bet to earn an Opening Day roster spot next spring.

Andrew Brown went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Cubs.

The outfielder was recalled from Triple-A prior to the ballgame and wasted no time making a contribution. Brown's seventh-inning shot off of Justin Grimm knotted the game up at 4-4. He has two on the season along with seven RBI and a .200/.286/.433 slash line in 35 plate appearances at the big league level.

Brown has been an offensive force this season at the Triple-A level, but he was just 5-for-27 in a three-week stay with the Mets in April. The 29-year-old will serve as a bench bat and outfield depth for New York.

Andrew Brown hit his sixth homer, a two-run shot off Kameron Loe, Wednesday versus the Braves.

Brown is getting to play against some right-handers now with Marlon Byrd gone, and he's doing just as well against them as he is versus lefties. He should be an asset in NL-only leagues this month.

Andrew Brown delivered a game-winning, two-run double in the bottom of the 13th as the Mets beat the Diamondbacks 5-4 on Monday.

Arizona went ahead on Cody Ross's solo homer in the top of the 13th, but the Mets out-cuted them in the bottom of the inning. After Josh Satin doubled off Josh Collmenter with one out, Kirk Gibson opted to intentionally walk John Buck as the winning run because the pitcher was on deck and the Mets were out of position players. Terry Collins had Matt Harvey pinch-hit and lay down a sac bunt. Gibson ordered another intentional walk, this one to Omar Quintanilla, to load the bases, bringing up Brown. After going down 0-2, Brown got ahold of a high fastball that wasn't as high as intended and deposited it into the gap to end it.

Brown has three hits, including a homer, in 15 at-bats this season for the Mets. He's mashed to the tune of a .349/.435/.664 in 2013 at Triple-A and should see some starts against lefties.

Andrew Brown smacked a solo homer in Saturday's loss to the Pirates.

Brown, who was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas last weekend, made the start in left field Saturday. The home run was off left-hander Tony Watson in the ninth inning. The 28-year-old has posted some big numbers in the minors, particularly against southpaws, but it has yet to translate during sporadic at-bats at the major league level. The Mets are struggling to get any production out of their outfield, so the opportunity is there for the taking.
