Anthony Bass (lat) could pitch for the Cubs on Monday.
Bass was signed to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training near the end of December, but hasn't had a chance to pitch for Chicago as he's been dealing with the strained lat. If he pitches well he has a chance to earn one of the final bullpen spots for the Cubs, but there's just as good of chance -- if not greater -- that he is either placed on the disabled list or sent to Triple-A Iowa to begin 2018.
