Brewers signed INF Blake Davis to a minor league contract.

Davis appeared in 25 games with the Orioles in 2011, but failed to earn a promotion this past season. Strictly a utility infielder, he should compete for a spot on the Brewers' 25-man roster in spring training.

Orioles sent INF-OF Blake Davis outright to Triple-A Norfolk.

Davis was designated for assignment earlier this week so that the O's could clear a spot on their 40-man roster for a worthy September callup. He batted .254/.323/.390 this season in 65 major league at-bats.

Orioles purchased the contract of INF-OF Blake Davis from Triple-A Norfolk.

Davis, a 2006 fourth-round pick, was batting .284/.320/.399 with five homers and 24 RBI over his first 49 games with the Tides this season. Most of his experience is as a shortstop, but he has primarily played right field this season. He isn't much of a prospect at the age of 27, but could hang on as a utility-type.
