Rockies signed LHP Erick Threets to a minor league contract.
Though he's put up some nice numbers in the minors, Threets hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2010. He'll surely begin 2013 at Triple-A Colorado Springs. Wed, Jan 2, 2013 09:40:00 PM

Dodgers signed LHP Erick Threets to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Threets was released by the A's earlier this month despite posting a promising 1.84 ERA in 44 innings of relief at the Triple-A level. The 30-year-old lefty could be given a try in the Los Angeles 'pen at some point soon.

Athletics released LHP Erick Threets.

Threets asked for his release once it became apparent that he wasn't going to be promoted despite a 1.84 ERA and a .226 opponents' average at Triple-A Sacramento. He'll be able to catch on elsewhere.

Phillies signed LHP Erick Threets to a minor league contract.

Threets missed the entire 2011 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery but is expected to be healthy for spring training. He tossed 12 1/3 shutout innings with the White Sox in 2010.

White Sox non-tendered LHP Erick Threets.

A no-brainer move for the White Sox, as Threets underwent Tommy John surgery in September and is expected to miss the entire 2011 season. The 29-year-old left-hander tossed 12 1/3 shutout innings with the White Sox this past season.

White Sox transferred LHP Erick Threets from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.

Threets is expected to undergo Tommy John surgery on his left elbow at some point this month.

Erick Threets is expected to require Tommy John elbow surgery.

Threets tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow during Friday's game against the Yankees and was placed on the disabled list Saturday. The 28-year-old lefty posted a great 0.00 ERA and 0.97 WHIP over 12 1/3 innings of relief this year but probably won't resurface until 2012.

White Sox placed LHP Erick Threets on the 15-day disabled list with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow.

That's not good. Threets has made it through 12-plus major league innings without allowing an earned run this season and would have played a major role in the White Sox bullpen down the stretch. He's likely done for the year and could need major reconstructive surgery this winter.

Erick Threets left Friday's game against the Yankees in the ninth inning with an undisclosed injury.

Just what the White Sox need right now. Threets pitched a scoreless eighth inning, but when he was asked to start the ninth, he needed to be taken out of the game after reaching a 3-2 count with Mark Teixeira. As of now, the nature of the injury is not known. Stay tuned for an update.

White Sox activated LHP Erick Threets from the 15-day disabled list.

Threets' toe is heatlhy, but he is is largely a lefty specialist at this point, as his minor league career 8+ strikeouts per nine versus lefties (and corresponding 5 strikeouts per nine versus righties) can attest. The team needed more arms with J.J. Putz and Matt Thornton hitting the disabled list.

Erick Threets (toe) began a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday night.

The left-hander tossed one inning, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one and walking one. Threets has been on the disabled list since the first week of August with turf toe in his left big toe. He'll likely return when rosters expand in September.

White Sox placed LHP Erick Threets on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 31, with a case of turf toe.

Threets has been brilliant for the White Sox since they called him up in late June, posting a 1.07 WHIP over 9 1/3 scoreless innings. But he'll be out for at least the next two weeks due to this sudden toe injury. The White Sox are expected to call up prospect Chris Sale in his place.

White Sox purchased the contract of LHP Erick Threets from Triple-A Charlotte.

Threets posted a 0.53 ERA and 9/4 K/BB ratio over 17 innings with the Knights. The 28-year-old southpaw has a 6.57 ERA over 10 major league appearances, all with the Giants from 2007-2008.

Giants activated LHP Erick Threets from the 15-day disabled list and designated him for assignment.

The Giants are happy with Alex Hinshaw as their second lefty, so Threets gets bumped from the roster after missing a month and a half with a strained intercostal muscle. Some team might take a chance on him, but that no one bothered with Sean Henn after the Padres dropped him bodes well for Threets' chances of clearing waivers.

Erick Threets (abdomen) threw a bullpen session Friday and said his discomfort is almost gone.

Threets is eligible to come off the disabled list May 4, and will probably start a rehab assignment next week in the hopes of making his return on that date.
