Josh Zeid is experimenting with a new arm angle.

Zeid has begun using a sidearm delivery on a few of his pitches -- he's capable of doing so with his four-seamer, two-seamer and slider -- a change first seen in Tuesday's loss against the Twins. "It's in its infancy," Zeid, who was acquired in the Hunter Pence deal, said. "It's not a finished product, but it's something that can help myself and my ballclub down the road."

Astros acquired RHPs Josh Zeid and Jarred Cosart, 1B Jonathan Singleton and a player to be named later from the Phillies for OF Hunter Pence and cash considerations.

Zeid was ranked as the Phillies' No. 23 prospect coming into the season by Baseball America, but he's not quite on the level of Jarred Cosart and Jonathan Singleton. The 24-year-old right-hander has a 5.65 ERA and 56/27 K/BB ratio over 63 2/3 innings in Double-A this season, though he has enjoyed more success in relief. That would likely be his role if he reaches the majors.
