Stephen Fife was rocked for four runs on six hits over just 2 1/3 innings in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Fife was making his 10th spot start. He may have ensured that it will be his last. The right-hander from Boise has a decent 3.86 ERA in 58 1/3 innings, but his good fortune in achieving that number becomes apparent when considering Fife's 1.53 WHIP and 45/20 K/BB ratio. Fife has coughed up 11 earned runs in 7 1/3 innings since the Dodgers recalled him from the minors earlier this month.

Dodgers recalled RHP Stephen Fife from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Fife holds a 2.47 ERA over nine starts for the Dodgers this season. It appears he'll work in relief initially, but it's possible he'll get a look as the No. 5 starter eventually.

Dodgers optioned RHP Stephen Fife to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Fife gets the boot one day after he tossed 5 1/3 scoreless innings against the Cubs in his return from the disabled list. Dee Gordon will replace him on the active roster.

Dodgers activated RHP Stephen Fife from the 15-day disabled list.

Fife will get the start on Sunday against the Cubs, pushing Zack Greinke back to Monday. The righty has been on the shelf since July 7 due to a right shoulder injury.

Stephen Fife (shoulder) allowed one run on three hits over seven innings in his second rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Albuquerque.

Fife has been out since July 7 due to a right shoulder injury, but is close to being activated from the disabled list. He only gave up one walk and had seven strikeouts in the outing. The Dodgers haven't ruled out using a six-man rotation once he's healthy enough to return.

Stephen Fife (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque Monday.

Fife is scheduled to throw 70 pitches in the outing. It's possible that might be the only rehab start he'll need before being activated. Whether or not he'll rejoin the Dodgers' rotation at that time remains to be seen.

Dodgers placed RHP Stephen Fife on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 7, with right shoulder bursitis.

Fife spent time on the DL earlier this season with shoulder inflammation. It's poor timing, as he had been pitching well since coming back at the beginning of June, posting a 2.20 ERA. Chris Capuano will rejoin the rotation on Thursday versus the Rockies.

Stephen Fife allowed four runs -- one earned -- over 4 1/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Giants.

Fife was left out to dry by his defense, though the seven hits that he allowed obviously didn't help matters. The 26-year-old right-hander has a cool 2.76 ERA in 45 2/3 innings (eight starts) this season, but he's probably going to lose his rotation spot to Ricky Nolasco. Chris Capuano is the other candidate to get the boot.

Stephen Fife threw seven scoreless innings Sunday in the Dodgers' win over the Phillies.

With Ted Lilly expected to be sidelined until after the All-Star break, Fife should remain in the Dodgers' rotation for at least the next two weeks. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any outing this month and has managed to put together a solid 3.41 ERA over six starts.

Stephen Fife picked up a win after allowing three runs in 6 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Giants.

Fife gave up two homers tonight, but they were both solo shots. He allowed just two other hits, walked two and struck out three. The Dodgers figure to keep him in the rotation for now and throw him against the Phillies on Sunday.

Stephen Fife held the Padres to two runs -- one earned -- over six innings in a no-decision.

Fife struck out six and walked one, scattering four hits. The 26-year-old has been great since he was recalled from the minors earlier this month, allowing just four runs over four starts and 23 innings. Unfortunately, Fife is allowing a bonanza of baserunners and we don't expect him to continue dancing out of danger.

Stephen Fife pitched decently in Friday’s loss to the Pirates, surrendering two runs on six hits and three walks over his five innings.

Fife punched out four on the night. While there were a steady stream of baserunners against him, the only damage came on a two-run double from Andrew McCutchen in the third inning. He’s done a nice job in limited work this season, posting a 3.74 ERA and 21/7 K/BB ratio through his first 21 2/3 innings. He represents a nice streaming option when he takes on the Padres in San Diego on Thursday.

Stephen Fife will start Saturday against the Braves.

Fife held the Padres to one run over 5 1/3 innings in a spot start Monday and will remain in the starting rotation with Chris Capuano (triceps) on the disabled list. The 26-year-old is not a recommended option in fantasy leagues.

Stephen Fife gave the Dodgers what they wanted in a spot start Monday, holding the Padres to one run over 5 1/3 innings in a 2-1 win.

Fife allowed five hits, walked a pair and struck out five. The right-hander was at just 76 pitches with one out in the sixth, but manager Don Mattingly decided to pull him after back-to-back hits pulled the Padres to within one. With Chris Capuano (triceps) expected to make his next start, Fife will likely be sent down after the game.
