Stephen Fife will undergo Tommy John surgery on Wednesday.

Fife last pitched for Triple-A Albuquerque on July 18 and tests apparently revealed that he has a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He'll be sideline at least until late in the 2015 season.

Dodgers optioned RHP Stephen Fife to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Fife gave up four earned runs in six innings Sunday in a spot start against the Marlins. The Dodgers have called up right-hander Pedro Baez to serve as a fresh arm out of the bullpen.
May 5 - 4:05 PM

Stephen Fife gave up four earned runs in six innings Sunday in a loss to the Marlins.

Giancarlo Stanton took him deep twice and Christian Yelich also went yard. Fife was making a spot start and will probably be sent back to Triple-A early this week.
May 4 - 4:19 PM

Dodgers recalled RHP Stephen Fife from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Fife will make a spot start for Los Angeles on Sunday against the Marlins. Hyun-Jin Ryu was placed on the disabled list earlier this week with shoulder inflammation.
May 3 - 11:34 PM

Stephen Fife was scratched from a scheduled Cactus League start against the Angels on Friday due to an illness.

Fife threw just two official innings this spring and will serve as organizational depth this season. Zach Lee will start in his place Friday.
Mar 28 - 6:24 PM

Stephen Fife was rocked for four runs on six hits over just 2 1/3 innings in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Fife was making his 10th spot start. He may have ensured that it will be his last. The right-hander from Boise has a decent 3.86 ERA in 58 1/3 innings, but his good fortune in achieving that number becomes apparent when considering Fife's 1.53 WHIP and 45/20 K/BB ratio. Fife has coughed up 11 earned runs in 7 1/3 innings since the Dodgers recalled him from the minors earlier this month.

Dodgers recalled RHP Stephen Fife from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Fife holds a 2.47 ERA over nine starts for the Dodgers this season. It appears he'll work in relief initially, but it's possible he'll get a look as the No. 5 starter eventually.

Dodgers optioned RHP Stephen Fife to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Fife gets the boot one day after he tossed 5 1/3 scoreless innings against the Cubs in his return from the disabled list. Dee Gordon will replace him on the active roster.

Dodgers activated RHP Stephen Fife from the 15-day disabled list.

Fife will get the start on Sunday against the Cubs, pushing Zack Greinke back to Monday. The righty has been on the shelf since July 7 due to a right shoulder injury.

Stephen Fife (shoulder) allowed one run on three hits over seven innings in his second rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Albuquerque.

Fife has been out since July 7 due to a right shoulder injury, but is close to being activated from the disabled list. He only gave up one walk and had seven strikeouts in the outing. The Dodgers haven't ruled out using a six-man rotation once he's healthy enough to return.

Stephen Fife (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque Monday.

Fife is scheduled to throw 70 pitches in the outing. It's possible that might be the only rehab start he'll need before being activated. Whether or not he'll rejoin the Dodgers' rotation at that time remains to be seen.
Mon, Jul 22, 2013 06:20:00 PM

Dodgers placed RHP Stephen Fife on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 7, with right shoulder bursitis.

Fife spent time on the DL earlier this season with shoulder inflammation. It's poor timing, as he had been pitching well since coming back at the beginning of June, posting a 2.20 ERA. Chris Capuano will rejoin the rotation on Thursday versus the Rockies.

Stephen Fife allowed four runs -- one earned -- over 4 1/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Giants.

Fife was left out to dry by his defense, though the seven hits that he allowed obviously didn't help matters. The 26-year-old right-hander has a cool 2.76 ERA in 45 2/3 innings (eight starts) this season, but he's probably going to lose his rotation spot to Ricky Nolasco. Chris Capuano is the other candidate to get the boot.
Sat, Jul 6, 2013 10:27:00 PM

Stephen Fife threw seven scoreless innings Sunday in the Dodgers' win over the Phillies.

With Ted Lilly expected to be sidelined until after the All-Star break, Fife should remain in the Dodgers' rotation for at least the next two weeks. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any outing this month and has managed to put together a solid 3.41 ERA over six starts.
