Stephen Vogt slugged a solo homer in Friday’s loss to the Cubs.
Vogt and Brett Phillips went back-to-back off John Lackey in the second inning. Claimed off waivers from the Athletics back in June, Vogt came into Friday’s action mired in a 3-for-27 (.111) funk. He’s now up to 11 homers on the year, with seven of them in just 38 games with the Brewers. Sep 23 - 12:55 AM

Stephen Vogt whacked a pinch-hit solo home run in the ninth inning of Wednesday's loss to the Giants.

Vogt popped a solo homer off Sam Dyson with two outs in the ninth inning to draw the Brewers to within 4-2, but they were unable to put together a further rally to make matters interesting. The veteran backstop has played well in a small sample size since joining the Brewers on a waiver claim at the end of June. He is slashing .297/.341/.757 with five homers and 10 RBI in 16 games played. A sprained MCL cost him about a month of action before he was activated from the disabled list on August 18.

Brewers activated C Stephen Vogt from the 10-day disabled list.

Vogt missed a month of action with a sprained MCL. He'll go back to sharing time at catcher with Manny Pina.
Aug 18 - 3:57 PM

Stephen Vogt (knee) went 2-for-3 in a rehab game Wednesday with Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Vogt will play in one more rehab game on Thursday before likely returning to the Brewers' active roster ahead of Friday night's series opener at Coors Field. The veteran catcher has been on the disabled list for the last month with an MCL sprain in his left knee.
Aug 16 - 3:43 PM

Stephen Vogt (knee) will continue his rehab assignment with Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Vogt went 2-for-11 (.182) with a pair of doubles through three rehab games with Class A Wisconsin. The veteran backstop went down about a month after with an MCL sprain in his left knee, but he should rejoin the Brewers within the next few days.
Aug 15 - 12:20 PM

Stephen Vogt (knee) is expected to begin a rehab assignment on Friday or Saturday.

Vogt is trending toward full strength after spraining his knee last month in an ugly collision at home plate. After making All-Star appearances in 2015 and 2016, Vogt has regressed offensively, batting just .217 with eight homers in 185 at-bats this season.
Aug 10 - 6:27 PM

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Tuesday that Stephen Vogt (knee) will miss at least a month.

Vogt suffered a MCL sprain in his home-plate collision with Chad Kuhl on Monday night in Pittsburgh and he was officially placed on the disabled list Tuesday. Jett Bandy has been recalled from the minors to back up Manny Pina in Milwaukee.
Jul 18 - 5:20 PM

Brewers placed C Stephen Vogt on the 10-day disabled list with a left knee sprain.

Vogt suffered the injury Monday on a collision at home plate. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined. Jett Bandy has been recalled and he'll back up Manny Pina.
Jul 18 - 4:04 PM

Stephen Vogt (knee) will undergo an MRI Tuesday.

The good news is Vogt escaped Monday's collision with Chad Kuhl without a concussion, but there's some concern about his left knee. We'll obviously know more once those test results are in.
Jul 17 - 11:03 PM

Stephen Vogt departed Monday's game against the Pirates after being involved in a collision at home plate with Chad Kuhl.

Vogt was down for a while after the collision and is being evaluated for a potential neck and left knee strain. The Brewers should have an update later Monday.
Jul 17 - 8:49 PM

Stephen Vogt slugged a two-run homer Tuesday against the Orioles.

Vogt's blast in the second inning off of Ubaldo Jimenez got the scoring going. It was his third homer in six games for the Brew Crew after he hit only four in 54 contests this season for the Athletics.
Jul 4 - 6:50 PM

Stephen Vogt powered the Brewers past the Marlins with a pair of homers and three RBI as part of a 3-2 victory on Friday.

Vogt, who was claimed off waivers from the Athletics earlier this week, slugged a solo homer off Edinson Volquez in the fifth inning before putting the Brewers ahead with a two-run blast off David Phelps in the seventh. It was his third career multi-homer game. The 32-year-old was batting just .217 with a .644 OPS before the Athletics moved on, but he’s not far removed from being a useful bat behind the plate.
Jul 1 - 12:05 AM

Stephen Vogt will hit seventh in Wednesday's game against the Reds.

The Brew Crew claimed Vogt off waivers from the A's on June 25. He has seen one plate appearance with the team, but Wednesday's contest will be his first start with his new club. He was hitting .217/.287/.357 in 174 at-bats with the A's before they opted to cut ties.
Jun 28 - 4:11 PM

Brewers claimed C Stephen Vogt off waivers from the Athletics.

Vogt, 32, has batted just .217/.287/.357 this season and hit only .222/.287/.365 in the second half last season. However, he was an All-Star in 2015 and 2016 and is under team control through 2020. With Jett Bandy in a lengthy slump (.151/.240/.247 since May 1), the Brewers felt Vogt was worth a shot. He figures to share catching duties with Manny Pina but looks like a capable second catcher in fantasy leagues now with Miller Park as his new home.
Jun 25 - 1:31 PM

Athletics designated C Stephen Vogt for assignment.

Vogt was an American League All-Star in 2015 and 2016, but the 32-year-old catcher had put up a weak .217/.287/.357 batting line in 174 plate appearances this season. Bruce Maxwell has been recalled from Triple-A to serve as Josh Phegley's backup.
