The Athletics announced Friday that catcher Stephen Vogt underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow.
Prior to this announcement, there had been no rumblings that surgery was even an option for the All-Star catcher. The procedure, which was performed by Dr. Jon Dickinson, removed a bone chip and performed a debridement of his elbow joint. Vogt will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks while recovering, but should be ready in time for Opening Day. Jan 29 - 6:17 PM
