Vogt took Justin Masterson yard in the first inning to put the A's up 3-0. The 30-year-old has been the best-hitting catcher in baseball thus far, carrying a .337/.420/.673 triple-slash line with nine home runs and 30 RBI.

Vogt homered twice and knocked in four runs on Sunday, continuing what has been a highly productive season. He's batting .372/.462/.718 with seven home runs and 25 RBI on the season.

Vogt hit a solo home run off of Yovani Gallardo in the sixth inning, then topped himself the next inning, slugging a three-run shot off Alex Claudio. He finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored, four RBI and two walks. The big game gives Vogt six home runs for the season and 20 RBI. He's hitting a sterling .356/.455/.671 in his first season as the A's full-time catcher.

Stephen Vogt delivered the first multi-homer game of his career in Friday's loss to the Royals.

Vogt followed a solo blast by Ike Davis with one of his own off Jeremy Guthrie in the fourth inning to tie the game at 3-3. He'd later tag Guthrie again in the seventh for another solo shot, once again bringing the A's even at 4-4. He finished the career night 3-for-4 and is now hitting an impressive .353/.421/.735 with eight RBI in his first season as the A's full-time starting catcher.

Vogt turned his left ankle on Monday night, but he only came away with a bit of swelling. The catcher is batting .348/.423/.609 through seven games this year.

He finished the game but was noticeably hobbled. It doesn't sound like a huge deal, but Vogt will be re-evaluated on Tuesday and could wind up missing a game or two. For what it's worth, Vogt says he'll be fine.
