Stephen Vogt (wrist) is in the Athletics starting lineup on Saturday.
Vogt was expected to get the day off after he left Friday's game with a bruised wrist after he was hit by a pitch. He was able to avoid any serious injuries though and apparently feels good enough to give it a go on Saturday. He's in the midst of an outstanding season, slashing .304/.399/.545 with 13 homers and a league-leading 53 RBI. Jun 27 - 12:41 PM

X-rays on Stephen Vogt's wrist came back negative, and he's day-to-day after being hit by a pitch in Friday's game.

Vogt will probably need Saturday off, but it looks like he escaped serious injury.
Jun 27 - 1:36 AM

Stephen Vogt left Friday's game in the ninth inning after getting hit on the right hand/wrist by a pitch.

Vogt was in quite a lot of pain, so this could be a DL-type situation. Josh Phegley would catch regularly if that's the case.
Jun 27 - 12:54 AM

Stephen Vogt went 3-for-5 and scored a run in Thursday's win against the Rangers.

Vogt has logged three hits in three of his last four games. Not coincidentally, the Athletics have won all four games. Barring a tremendous slump or an injury, the 30-year-old should wind up on the AL All-Star roster as he's batting a healthy .308/.401/.552 with 13 home runs, 53 RBI (leading the league), and 37 runs scored.
Jun 25 - 5:41 PM

Stephen Vogt, who missed Tuesday's game with a sore elbow, went 3-for-5 with two RBI against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Vogt played first base while Josh Phegley, who went 2-for-4 with a homer and a walk, did the catching. Vogt is expected back behind the plate tomorrow, though as well as Phegley is hitting, it'd made sense to let Vogt DH or play first base more frequently. Billy Butler can take a spot on the bench if he doesn't step it up.
Jun 24 - 11:12 PM

Stephen Vogt (elbow) is back in the A's starting lineup on Wednesday night against the Rangers.

Vogt sat out of Tuesday's series opener after getting a cortisone shot Sunday for tennis elbow. He is playing first base and hitting third in his return to action.
Jun 24 - 4:14 PM

Stephen Vogt (elbow) expects to return Wednesday.

Vogt got a cortisone shot in his ailing left elbow on Sunday and will be held out of action Tuesday night against the Rangers. He's dealt with a variety of injuries this season, but they've all been pretty minor. The 30-year-old catcher has a .938 OPS, 13 home runs, and 51 RBI in 68 games this season for the Athletics.
Jun 23 - 5:43 PM

Stephen Vogt is back in the A's starting lineup on Wednesday night against the Padres.

Vogt has been dealing with a variety of minor injuries, so he was given the day off on Tuesday. He is starting at catcher and batting fifth in his return Wednesday.
Jun 17 - 4:47 PM

Stephen Vogt is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Padres.

Vogt has been banged up recently, so he'll get a rest with the day game after the night game. Josh Phegley will start behind the plate.
Jun 16 - 12:44 PM

Stephen Vogt had a big night, going 3-for-5 with an RBI single and a grand slam as the Athletics trampled the Padres on Monday.

Vogt singled in the second run in the Athletics' three-run third inning. He added a grand slam in the eighth inning to put the game out of reach for the Padres. The catcher hadn't recorded a hit since Wednesday and was 3-for-38 in 12 June games entering the night. Vogt still has All-Star numbers, batting .281/.385/.526 with 12 home runs and 45 RBI.
Jun 16 - 1:31 AM

Stephen Vogt (leg) returned to the Athletics starting lineup on Saturday.

Jun 6 - 1:02 PM

Stephen Vogt (leg) struck out as a pinch hitter in Friday's loss to the Red Sox.

He was held out of the starting lineup due to a cramp in his right leg. The fact that he was available off the bench though is an encouraging sign, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him behind the dish on Saturday.
Jun 6 - 8:27 AM

Stephen Vogt (leg) is not in the Athletics' lineup Friday.

Vogt exited Thursday's contest with a cramp in his right leg. The good news is that he's feeling better and is available off the bench. He should be back in there Saturday. Josh Phegley is behind the dish Friday.
Jun 5 - 4:18 PM

Stephen Vogt left Thursday's game with a cramp in his right leg.

Vogt felt the cramp while trying to chase down a foul pop-up and was forced to leave the game. He said that he felt the cramp down his entire leg. We should have a better idea about his status on Friday, but it sounds like something that could pass.
Jun 4 - 4:31 PM

Stephen Vogt left Thursday's game against the Tigers in the ninth inning with an apparent injury.

Vogt, who was playing first base, appeared to suffer some sort of leg injury after chasing after a foul pop-up which landed in the seats. The A's should provide an update after the game, but it would be a tough blow to lose him for any amount of time.
