Dodgers recalled LHP Luis Avilan from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Avilan made three appearances with the Dodgers back in April and owns a 4.97 ERA and 15/9 K/BB ratio over 12 2/3 innings in Triple-A this season. The 26-year-old will give the Dodgers a fresh arm in the bullpen.

Dodgers recalled LHP Luis Avilan from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Dodgers and LHP Luis Avilan avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.39 million contract.

He gets a nice raise in his first year of arbitration eligibility. Avilan held a 4.05 ERA with 49 strikeouts over 53 1/3 innings in 2015 between the Braves and Dodgers.
Jan 15 - 12:00 PM

Dodgers acquired LHP Luis Avilan from the Braves in the 13-player, three-team Hector Olivera trade.

Avilan had registered a cool 3.58 ERA, 1.195 WHIP, and 31/10 K/BB ratio across 37 2/3 innings this season for the Braves. The 26-year-old left-hander should be a nice addition to the Dodgers' bullpen for the stretch run.

Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports the Braves have discussed LHP Luis Avilan with other teams.

The southpaw struggled to a 4.57 ERA over 43 1/3 innings this past season, but he still owns a 2.56 ERA for his career and won't be eligible for arbitration until 2016. If the 25-year-old Avilan is available, he'll surely draw some interest on the trade market.

Avilan has posted an underwhelming 4.85 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and 18/15 K/BB ratio in 29 2/3 innings this season out of the Braves' bullpen. He will pitch in middle relief.

Luis Avilan notched his third win in relief despite giving up five runs in the eighth Monday against the Phillies.

If you made Avilan a $1 pick in your NL-only league, be thankful for the wins, but drop him as soon as you can. He's just not the same guy who was so effective in a setup role last year.

Luis Avilan returned to action Thursday and allowed a run in two-thirds of an inning.

Avilan left Tuesday's game with a left hamstring cramp.

Luis Avilan (hamstring) expects to be available to pitch Wednesday.

Avilan has a left hamstring issue, but it's just a cramp and he says it's no big deal. The left-hander is unscored upon in his four plate appearances this season.

Luis Avilan has been diagnosed with a left hamstring cramp.

Avilan was injured when he got out of the way of a broken bat during Tuesday's game. If he does indeed just have a cramp, he could avoid the disabled list. However, Avilan also dealt with left hamstring issues last season and during spring training.

Luis Avilan left Tuesday's game against the Mets with an apparent injury.

Avilan tweaked something as he got out of the way of a broken bat. He limped off the field and was seen later limping in the clubhouse. The Braves losing the left-handed reliever would be a big blow to their bullpen.
