Heath appeared in four games with the White Sox and posted an 11.12 ERA. Donnie Veal will likely be called up to replace him on the active roster.

He's taking Gavin Floyd's roster spot. Heath appeared in one game for the Palehose earlier this season but has a chance to stick around longer this time with Hector Santiago moving into the rotation.

Heath has already appeared in one game this season for the White Sox. If he pitches well this time around he could secure a permanent place in the bullpen while Hector Santiago fills in for injured starter Gavin Floyd.

He's taking Gordon Beckham's roster spot. Heath made it up for four games with the Palehose last year after putting up a 1.48 with 74 strikeouts over 67 innings at Triple-A. He'll work the middle innings.

Heath did not make an appearance with the club in the four days he was with them. Heath, who was added to the 40-man roster last November, had a solid 1.70 ERA and 46/10 K/BB ratio over 42 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level this season. A corresponding roster move will be announced Friday.

White Sox purchased the contract of RHP Deunte Heath from Triple-A Charlotte.

Heath posted a 4.73 ERA but struck out 117 over 102 2/3 innings while appearing in 30 games -- 16 starts -- for Charlotte this season. The 26-year-old will now be protected from the Rule 5 draft.
