Brewers placed INF Hernan Perez on the paternity leave list.

Perez can remain on the paternity leave list for 24-72 hours. Yadiel Rivera will take his place on the Brewers' bench.
Jun 21 - 1:42 PM

Hernan Perez had himself a nice night at the plate in Thursday's loss to the Mets, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Perez finally broke through and got the Brewers on the board in the seventh inning with a run-scoring single off Bartolo Colon. He also swiped his eighth base of the season in the ballgame, though he was also caught once. With stolen base totals down across the league, Perez has developed into an interesting commodity in deeper fantasy leagues due to his acumen on the base paths.
Jun 9 - 11:55 PM

Hernan Perez had a pinch-hit, two-run triple Thursday against the Braves.

Perez made a two-run game into a four-run game with his triple in the ninth inning, his first three-bagger of the year. The 25-year-old has been used sparingly by Brewers manager Craig Counsell this season but has posted a .291/.339/.509 line with three home runs and five steals in 55 at-bats. Given the current state of the squad, perhaps it's time to give Perez some more run to see what he can do with regular playing time.
May 27 - 12:10 AM

Hernan Perez launched a two-out, two-run home run as a pinch hitter in Saturday's loss to the Marlins.

He made his second appearance of the campaign on Saturday and supplied his club with fleeting hope with his pinch-hit homer in the seventh inning off lefty Craig Breslow. He's only with the big-league club due to an injury to Scooter Gennett (oblique) and isn't currently worth owning in any fantasy format.
Apr 30 - 11:35 PM

Brewers purchased the contract of INF Hernan Perez from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Perez will give the Brewers much-needed infield depth while Scooter Gennett recovers from an oblique strain. He's a .235/.251/.307 career hitter at the MLB level.
Apr 28 - 11:00 AM

Brewers re-signed 3B Hernan Perez to a minor league contract.

The Brewers claimed Perez off waivers from the Tigers in June. Jon Morosi of Fox Sports reported that the Motor City Kitties actually had conversations about bringing back the free agent third baseman, but he's opted to re-sign with the Brew Crew. In 230 at-bats with the Brewers, he hit .270/.281/.365 with a homer, 15 doubles and 21 RBI. At just 24 years old, he makes for a nice signing for the rebuilding Brewers.

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports that the Tigers have had conversations about bringing back Hernan Perez.

The Tigers lost Perez on a waiver claim to the Brewers in June, but earlier this month he declared free agency after being outrighted off the 40-man roster. He's hit just .235/.251/.307 in his first 351 big league plate appearances, but Perez is versatile defensively and is still just 24.

Hernan Perez has elected free agency.

Perez was outrighted off the Brewers' 40-man roster and he's decided to take his chances elsewhere. He's hit just .235/.251/.307 in his first 351 big league plate appearances, but Perez can play all over the infield and will just just 25 during spring training, so he shouldn't be out of work long.

Hernan Perez went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Wednesday's shutout win over the Padres.

All three of Perez's hits went for singles. One of the base knocks came in the sixth inning, as he came through with a two-run single to help chase Padres starter Andrew Cashner. Since being claimed off waivers by the Brewers in early June, the 24-year-old Perez has hit .271/.279/.372 with a homer and 19 RBI.

Hernan Perez had a nice day at the plate Monday against the Marlins, going 3-for-5 with three RBI.

Perez drove in two runs with a double to cap a five-run fifth and added an RBI single one inning later. The 24-year-old is now batting .290 in 68 games with the Brewers, but he hasn't shown much in the power of power or patience. He's getting an opportunity at third base right now, but those in mixed fantasy leagues can do better.

Hernan Perez went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBI as the Brewers topped the Pirates 5-3 on Thursday.

Perez is hitting .281 in 160 at-bats for the Brewers, though that comes with just three walks (three!) and one homer. Of course, this is a guy who would have spent all year in Triple-A with the Tigers had he not run out of options as a 24-year-old. The Brewers had room to give him a shot, and while he shouldn't be the future at third base for the club, he will give them an alternative at the middle-infield spots next year.

Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said Thursday that Hernan Perez would have the first chance to start regularly at third base.

With the departure of Aramis Ramirez on Thursday, the Brewers have a gaping hole at third base. Purely out of necessity, Perez will have a chance to play everyday, but he isn't expected to be fantasy-relevant.

Brewers claimed INF Hernan Perez off waivers from the Tigers.

Perez owns a .160/.189/.179 batting line through 113 plate appearances in the majors, but he's just 24 years old and can play all over the infield. The Brewers designated Elian Herrera for assignment in order to make room for him on the 40-man roster.

Tigers recalled INF Hernan Perez from Triple-A Toledo.

The move was made prior to Monday's game. Perez hit .197 over 34 games with the Tigers last season and isn't fantasy relevant.
