Hernan Perez was ejected from Saturday's game against the Cardinals for arguing balls and strikes.
It was his first career ejection. Perez gave home plate umpire Carlos Torres a piece of his mind after taking a called strike three in the eighth inning. His beef was warranted as replay showed the pitch was clearly outside. Perez went 1-for-4 before getting tossed. Chris Carter replaced him at first base. Sep 10 - 9:56 PM

Hernan Perez finished 4-for-5 with three RBI, a stolen base and a run scored as the Brewers thumped the Cardinals 12-5 on Thursday.

Perez contributed four of the Brewers' 17 hits in the lopsided win, including two doubles. It was the second time in three games that Perez enjoyed a four-hit outing. It's been a breakout year for the 25-year-old, who's hitting .278/.308/.462 with 13 homers, 54 RBI, 44 runs scored and 30 steals in 102 games overall.

Hernan Perez homered twice and drove home four runs on Saturday, but it wasn't enough to lead the Brewers to victory over the Pirates.

Perez got the scoring started with a three-run blast off Jameson Taillon in the first inning, and he added a solo shot off the right-hander in the third. That gave the Brewers an early 5-1 lead, though they were unable to hold onto it. Perez has been one of the biggest surprises in baseball this season, slashing .281/.308/.470 with 13 homers, 47 RBI and 26 stolen bases. He has come from nowhere to develop into a very capable five-category producer in mixed leagues.
Aug 27 - 11:32 PM

Hernan Perez hit a two-run triple in the seventh inning to help the Brewers get past the Rockies 6-4 on Tuesday.

The hit was Perez' only one in four at-bats, but it was a big one. With two outs and an 0-2 count, Perez slashed a Carlos Estevez pitch down the right field line and into the corner, plating both Jonathan Villar and Ryan Braun to give the Brewers a late lead. It was just the latest noteworthy performance for the 25-year-old this year, who's hitting .282/.308/.458 with 11 homers, 43 RBI, 35 runs scored and 23 steals in 87 games played.
Aug 24 - 12:34 AM

Hernan Perez went 2-for-4 with his 10th home run of the season in Tuesday's nightcap against the Cubs.

Perez hit what seemed like a meaningless homer with two outs in the ninth inning of a four-run game, but the Brewers put together a small rally to bring the tying run to the plate before Aroldis Chapman snuffed out the comeback attempt. The homer was the 10th for Perez in what is shaping up to be a breakout year for the 25-year-old. He's hitting .286/.312/.456 with 21 steals to go along with those 10 homers.
Aug 17 - 12:02 AM

Hernan Perez went 3-for-4 and hit his ninth homer as the Brewers topped the Braves 11-3 on Thursday.

Perez has nine homers in 229 at-bats this year after hitting one in 263 at-bats last season. He'll continue on as the Brewers' primary right fielder for now. The team will figure out a different arrangement if Domingo Santana is able to return after his long DL stint.
Aug 11 - 5:49 PM

Hernan Perez went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI to lead the Brewers to a 5-3 win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Perez, getting a rare start in the third spot in the lineup with Ryan Braun sidelined, took Pirates starter Jameson Taillon deep for a two-run shot in the first inning to set the tone. He tacked on an RBI single in the seventh inning to extend the Brewers' lead. After years of relative obscurity, the 25-year-old is trying to make a name for himself in 2016, batting .283/.308/.444 with seven homers and 16 steals in 66 games.
Jul 31 - 12:05 AM

Hernan Perez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks.

The D'Backs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but Perez knotted things back up with a two-run blast in the third. He also added a pair of stolen bases, giving him 16 on the season. While he played shortstop Thursday, Perez has taken over as the Brewers' third baseman since the trade of Aaron Hill and has provided sneaky production this season. He's on pace for 10 homers and 26 stolen bases despite a relatively limited number of at-bats.
Jul 28 - 5:15 PM

Hernan Perez went 1-for-2 and drove home the Brewers' lone run in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Perez brought home Jonathan Lucroy with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning, pulling the Brewers to within seven runs at 8-1. He has been a pleasant surprise in the Brewers lineup this season, slashing .274/.301/.411 with five homers, 28 RBI and 14 stolen bases.
Jul 27 - 11:14 PM

Hernan Perez went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored Thursday against the Pirates.

Perez was one of the few Brewers able to get to Pirates starter Francisco Liriano, knocking the run-scoring double in the seventh inning. The multi-hit game was his third in a row, and Perez has now hit in five straight. The infielder is batting .279/.304/.422 in 57 games.
Jul 21 - 10:37 PM

Hernan Perez finished 2-for-4 with two RBI in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

Perez had an RBI groundout in the fourth inning, but it was his hit with two runners on and two outs in the ninth inning -- against Pirates closer Mark Melancon, no less -- that tied the game briefly. In 55 games as a part-timer, the 25-year-old is hitting .267/.289/.411 with five homers, 24 RBI, 13 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.
