Hernan Perez went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Friday’s win over the Cubs.
Perez, who made the start at second base, had a double and an infield single in the victory. The 26-year-old utility man has mostly matched his production at the plate from last season, but he’s just 9-for-12 in stolen base attempts this season after swiping 34 bases last year. Jul 29 - 12:01 AM

Hernan Perez had just one hit, a solo home run, over four at-bats in Saturday's victory against the Phillies.

Perez has managed 11 home runs this season, but it was his first over 20 games dating back to June 18. After riding the I-75 shuttle between Detroit and Triple-A Toledo for parts of his first four years in the majors, a deal to Milwaukee has helped him find a home. He banged 13 homers last season for a career high, and he appears to be on pace to smash that mark.
Jul 15 - 11:21 PM

Hernan Perez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Padres.

Perez knotted the score up at 1-1 with his solo homer off Luis Perdomo in the sixth inning. He has done a respectable job on the whole this season, hitting .273/.301/.485 with 10 homers, 31 RBI and five steals in 227 at-bats. He swiped 34 bases last season, a mark which he might be hard-pressed to match unless he starts to pick up the pace on that front.
Jun 18 - 5:08 PM

Hernan Perez is not in the Brewers' starting lineup Friday against the Padres.

Lewis Brinson is in left field and batting seventh versus San Diego right-hander Miguel Diaz. Perez has slashed .276/.306/.484 with nine home runs, 30 RBI, five stolen bases, and 26 runs scored in 61 games this season for Milwaukee.
Jun 16 - 5:14 PM

Hernan Perez finished Saturday's game in Arizona with a home run and two RBI.

Perez has homers in back-to-back games for the first time since April 24-25. He is just four homers shy of the career high he set last season in his first full year in Cream City.
Jun 11 - 3:41 AM

Hernan Perez went 3-for-4 with an RBI double against the Mets on Thursday.

Perez has started games at six positions this year and done well, hitting .277 with five homers in 166 at-bats. Unfortunately, he's not running like he did last year; he went without a steal in May and is just 2-for-3 overall after coming in at 34-for-41 in 123 games in 2016. He's not worth playing in mixed leagues while he's doing so little running.
Jun 1 - 4:23 PM

Hernan Perez went 2-for-5 with an RBI single in Friday’s extra-inning loss to the Diamondbacks.

Perez made the start in left field and batted third with Ryan Braun (calf) back on the disabled list. The 26-year-old was a valuable piece in fantasy leagues last year and is batting .274/.314/.479 with five home runs, 19 RBI, two steals, and 20 runs scored through 42 games this season. He’s in a great situation in this lineup, so he’s worth considering in mixed fantasy leagues as long as the playing time is there.
May 27 - 12:31 AM

Hernan Perez went 3-for-4 with a solo homer Friday against the Mets.

Perez made the start in left field and should see plenty of playing time while Ryan Braun (calf) is on the disabled list. The 26-year-old was a useful piece in fantasy leagues last year and is batting .281/.333/.542 with five homers, 16 RBI, and two steals through 30 games this year. He should be worth using in most mixed leagues for the next week or so.
May 13 - 12:22 AM

Hernan Perez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Pirates.

The Brewers could manage only three hits in ten innings, and Perez' home run was the only run they could muster. Perez has not quite received everyday playing time but has hit quite well when given the chance ans a super-utilityman. He is hitting .278/.333/.557 with four homers and 13 RBI in 87 plate appearances. He stole 34 bases last year in 123 games but has just two swipes so far in 26 games this year.
May 6 - 10:38 PM

Hernan Perez went 3-for-3 with a homer, a triple and a walk Tuesday as the Brewers whooped the Reds 9-1.

Orlando Arcia has shown nothing in the way of development since entering the majors, but the Brewers would be sacrificing some defense by putting Perez at shortstop, as they did tonight. Maybe they should do it anyway, at least for now. Perez is hitting .261/.346/.609 in his 46 at-bats. Arcia is at .209/.232/.299 in 67 at-bats.
Apr 26 - 12:59 AM

Hernan Perez went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs Monday in the Brewers' defeat of the Reds.

Perez belted a three-run homer in the Brewers' four-run first inning against Reds starter Amir Garrett before adding an RBI double off Garrett in the bottom of the third. Consistent playing time has been an issue for Perez in his new super-utility role with the Brewers, though maybe this big power showing Monday will earn him more starts this week.
Apr 24 - 11:37 PM

Hernan Perez went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI against the Reds on Saturday.

His first-inning double plated two runs and he added a solo home run in the sixth. Perez had an eye-opening season last year but has yet to approach that level of production so far in 2017. After being an everyday player last season he has been serving in a super-utility role this year. Today's strong effort boosts his stats up to .200/.226/.367 with one homer and four RBI in limited action. He stole 34 bases last year but has yet to swipe one in 2017.
Apr 15 - 5:36 PM

Hernan Perez finished 2-for-4 with three RBI in the Brewers' 6-4 Cactus League victory over the Giants on Sunday.

Perez hit a solo homer off Jeff Samardzija in the fourth inning and then added a two-run single against Samardzija in the fifth. Samardzija gave up six total runs on nine hits over just four innings. Perez, who's lined up for a super-utility role in 2017, got the start at second base on Sunday.
Mar 19 - 7:13 PM

Hernan Perez went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI to help lead Venezuela over the Rangers 6-4 on Thursday.

Perez is playing first base for his country's powerful World Baseball Classic team. It is fitting because he played every position except pitcher and catcher for the Brewers last year while batting .272/.302/.428 with 13 home runs and 34 stolen bases in 123 games. He figures to play a super-utility role for Milwaukee this season. He played more games at third base than any other position in 2016, but the Brewers filled that job when they brought in Travis Shaw from Boston in the Tyler Thornburg trade.
Mar 9 - 9:21 PM

Hernan Perez was ejected from Saturday's game against the Cardinals for arguing balls and strikes.

It was his first career ejection. Perez gave home plate umpire Carlos Torres a piece of his mind after taking a called strike three in the eighth inning. His beef was warranted as replay showed the pitch was clearly outside. Perez went 1-for-4 before getting tossed. Chris Carter replaced him at first base.
