Braves designated RHP Miguel Socolovich for assignment.

Socolovich pitched two perfect innings in his lone appearance for the Braves. There are worse relievers occupying bullpen spots in the majors, but there's still a pretty good chance that he'll clear waivers.

Braves selected the contract of RHP Miguel Socolovich from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Socolovich joined the Braves in February on a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. The 31-year-old will likely serve as a mop-up/long reliever for Atlanta for the foreseeable future.

Socolovich allowed 20 runs -- 18 earned -- in 18 2/3 innings last season with the Cardinals before getting designated for assignment in late May. The 31-year-old right-hander is highly doubtful to crack the Opening Day bullpen in Atlanta.

Cardinals designated RHP Miguel Socolovich for assignment.

The right-hander has struggled mightily out of the Cardinals' bullpen this season, registering an 8.68 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 14/4 K/BB ratio over 18 2/3 innings. Given how well he pitched the previous two seasons, he could attract interest on waivers.

Miguel Socolovich earned a three-inning save Monday in the Cardinals' defeat of the Marlins.

Socolovich gave up a solo homer to Giancarlo Stanton in the bottom of the ninth, but he was able to finish off the 9-4 victory and secure a night off for the rest of the St. Louis bullpen. It was the 30-year-old right-hander's first career save.

Cardinals optioned RHP Miguel Socolovich to Triple-A Memphis.

The 29-year-old right-hander did everything in his power this spring to earn a spot in a crowded bullpen, registering a 2.57 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 6/1 K/BB ratio across seven frames. He should get an opportunity with the Cardinals at some point during the upcoming season.

Cardinals recalled RHP Miguel Socolovich from Triple-A Memphis.

Socolovich has registered an impressive 1.54 ERA in 21 relief appearances this season at the major league level, but it's been tough for him to find regular work in the Cardinals' talented bullpen. The right-hander probably won't see much action down the stretch.

Cardinals optioned RHP Miguel Socolovich to Triple-A Memphis.

Socolovich had registered a 1.17 ERA, 0.78 WHIP, and 8/1 K/BB ratio through 7 2/3 innings out of the St. Louis bullpen, so this is a surprising move. The 28-year-old right-hander probably won't be in the minors long.
