Luetge has posted an 8.31 ERA and 2.08 WHIP in 4 1/3 innings this season. He will be back up eventually.

Lucas Luetge is the only current pitcher who has thrown at least 15 innings without allowing an earned run.

Luetge, a Rule 5 pick, has been surprisingly effective in middle relief for the Mariners. It's possible he could be used in high-leverage situations if he continues to dominate.

Rule 5 pick Lucas Luetge has made the Mariners' 25-man roster.

Luetge, who was selected from the Brewers in December's Rule 5 Draft, earned a spot by posting a 2.70 ERA and 10/1 K/BB ratio over 6 2/3 innings this spring. It's worth a shot to keep him around to see if he can become a long-term asset.

Lucas Luetge - R - Mariners

Mariners selected LHP Lucas Luetge from the Brewers in the Rule 5 draft.

Baseball America describes Luetge as a "finesse type" with "four averagish pitches." He's gotten pretty nice results to this point in his minor league career, though, most recently posting a 3.13 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 69/23 K/BB ratio over 69 innings at Double-A. The Mariners hope he can stick as a lefty reliever.
