Marwin Gonzalez slugged his 16th home run Saturday in the Astros’ loss to the Blue Jays.

He went deep off Joe Biagini with two outs in the ninth inning. The 388-foot blast was Gonzalez’s only hit of the afternoon. The 28-year-old has had a monster first half, slashing .312/.396/.587 over 218 at-bats for the first-place 'Stros. He’s already set career-highs in both home runs and RBI.

Marwin Gonzalez went 2-for-5 and drove in three runs against the Braves on Wednesday.

He singled home Jose Altuve in the seventh inning, then plated two more runs with a double in the eighth. He was thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple. Gonzalez has been a nice find for his fantasy owners, rocking a .319/.403/.580 slash line with 14 homers and 49 RBI in 67 games.

Marwin Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's win over the Yankees.

After both teams squandered scoring opportunities in the first inning, Gonzalez got the Astros going with his two-run homer off Luis Severino in the second. The utility piece's career year continues to steam ahead without encumbrance, as he is now batting .313/.399/.576 with 14 homers and 45 RBI over the course of 198 at-bats.

Marwin Gonzalez (oblique) singled in one of his four at-bats in his return to the lineup Tuesday.

Gonzalez had been unavailable for a few days with an oblique issue. He's hitting .340/.411/.440 this month but has just one homer.

Marwin Gonzalez (oblique) was scratched from the Astros' lineup Saturday against the Mariners.

He's dealing with right oblique tightness. Yulieski Gurriel will replace Gonzalez at first base and bat seventh against Mariners starter Sam Gaviglio. Consider Gonzalez day-to-day.

Marwin Gonzalez drilled his 13th homer in Thursday’s 12-9 win over the A’s.

Gonzalez capped an eight-run second inning by slugging a three-run shot off right-hander Jesse Hahn. He also contributed a ninth-inning single. The 28-year-old utility man has been a big-time contributor for the Astros, slashing .312/.400/.590 over 173 at-bats this year.
Jun 22 - 7:14 PM

Marwin Gonzalez is not in the Astros' starting lineup for Sunday night's showdown against the Red Sox.

This looks to me nothing more than a routine day of rest for Gonzalez. Yuli Gurriel is starting at first base while Carlos Beltran occupies the designated hitter spot for the Astros against David Price and the Red Sox.
Jun 18 - 4:13 PM

Back from a hand injury, Marwin Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with two runs scored before being removed for a pinch-hitter Friday against the Angels.

We're assuming that Gonzalez was removed because the Astros didn't want him facing a left-hander just yet; his three at-bats all came against Matt Shoemaker, but the Angels had a lefty set to face him in the ninth. There was nothing after the game to indicate that Gonzalez had aggravated his injury.
Jun 10 - 1:26 AM

Marwin Gonzalez (hand) is in the Astros' lineup Friday.

Gonzalez hasn't played since Monday due to discomfort in his left hand, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go in this one. He's at first base. George Springer is getting a day off Friday, as the Astros have Jake Marisnick in center field. Daily Slant: Despite a less than stellar match-up with Matt Shoemaker, the Astros are still one of the top stacks on the board, and rostering Gonzalez gives you a good way to differentiate from the more popular Houston stacks. Gonzalez has still been getting overlooked this year, but he's sitting on a very impressive .351 ISO and .453 wOBA against RHP, marks that leave him towards the top of the league in both categories. The LH bats are still the top targets against Shoemaker.

Marwin Gonzalez (hand) is expected to return Friday against the Angels.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup for the third day in a row, though he's available off the bench if the Astros need him. The 28-year-old utility man has enjoyed a breakout year, hitting .314 with 12 homers and 34 RBI. Gonzalez has started at five different positions this year including left field and all four infield spots.
Jun 8 - 8:05 PM

Marwin Gonzalez (hand) will be available for Wednesday's game against Royals.

Gonzalez is not starting in Wednesday's contest after sustaining a left hand contusion while sliding into third two days ago, but could be used as a pinch-hitter or defensive replacement. He figures to return to the lineup at some point later this week.
Jun 7 - 6:03 PM

Marwin Gonzalez (hand) remains out of the Astros' starting lineup on Wednesday.

Gonzalez was diagnosed with a left hand contusion after an awkward slide into third base Monday. He remains day-to-day.
Jun 7 - 3:27 PM

Marwin Gonzalez has been diagnosed with a left hand contusion.

That's mostly good news for the Astros, though Gonzalez is out of the starting lineup on Tuesday night and probably won't start Wednesday either. Gonzalez has posted an impressive .314/.409/.636 batting line with 12 home runs and 34 RBI in 48 games this season for Houston.
Jun 6 - 5:46 PM

Marwin Gonzalez (hand) is not in the Astros' starting lineup on Tuesday night.

Gonzalez left Monday's series opener against the Royals after re-injuring his left hand on a slide into third base. He initially hurt the hand nine days ago in a game against the Orioles. Still, this doesn't seem like a disabled list situation. Consider the slugger day-to-day.
