Nicky Delmonico was forced to leave Sunday's Cactus League game after colliding with teammate Tyler Saladino.

Mar 11 - 6:10 PM

Nicky Delmonico went 3-for-3 on Tuesday in a loss to the Cubs in the Cactus League.

All three hits were singles for the 25-year-old outfielder. Once viewed as a prospect bust, Delmonico had somewhat of a breakout season in 2017, posting an .856 OPS in 43 games with the White Sox before being shut down in late September with shoulder inflammation. That's not a large sample size, but Delmonico was one of the better prep stars of the 2011 MLB Draft, so this might be a case of him finally coming into his own. He has a great chance to be Chicago's everyday left fielder in 2018.

Delmonico injured his shoulder in the last week of the regular season. The 25-year-old utility player batted .262/.373/.482 with nine home runs over his first 43 major league games this season with the White Sox, though his minor league numbers suggest he's in for some regression in 2018.
