Diamondbacks acquired RHP Vicente Campos from the Yankees in exchange for RHP Tyler Clippard.
Campos has battled injuries since landing with the Yankees in the Michael Pineda deal, but he's been healthy this year and has put up a 3.20 ERA and 105/38 K/BB ratio over 121 innings across three levels. He might ultimately be a reliever in the long run but isn't a bad pick-up for the D'Backs. Jul 31 - 11:46 AM

Yankees RHP prospect Vicente Campos tossed seven innings of three-hit ball Wednesday in a win for Double-A Trenton.

He fanned seven and didn't allow a walk. Campos has made a seamless transition to Double-A, cruising to a 2.08 ERA in his first four starts. The 23-year-old was promoted last month after opening the year with a 4-2 record in 10 outings for High-A Tampa. Between the two levels, opponents have hit just .220 off Campos this season with 82 punch-outs in 305 at-bats.

Yankees optioned RHP Vicente Campos to High-A Tampa.

Campos posted a rough 6.29 ERA in 54 1/3 innings last season between three different levels of the Yankees' minor league system. The 23-year-old right-hander is still regarded as a promising young talent, but elbow troubles have somewhat derailed his career and he needs to take a big step forward in 2016.

Yankees purchased the contract of RHP Vicente Campos from High-A Tampa.

He's now back on the 40-man roster. Campos, who came over from the Mariners in the Michael Pineda trade, missed all of 2014 after Tommy John surgery and posted a 7.05 ERA and 31/10 K/BB ratio in 44 2/3 innings in his return to action at the High-A level this season. He's still just 23 years old, so the Yankees aren't giving up on him yet.

Yankees re-signed RHP Jose Campos to a minor league contract.

Campos was non-tendered by the Yankees on December 3 and apparently found little interest on the free agent market. The 22-year-old right-hander underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery last April.

Yankees non-tendered RHP Jose Campos.

Campos was a piece in the Jesus Montero/Michael Pineda trade. At the time, he seemed to be an interesting young arm that could be developed. However, he underwent Tommy John surgery last April and now that the Yankees have cut bait with the righty, he'll have to find another landing spot to continue his recovery and progression.

Yankees prospect right-hander Jose Campos had Tommy John surgery on Friday.

Campos was acquired as part of the Montero-Pineda trade, but his elbow woes limited his time substantially. Campos is now out for the next year, which could push him off the prospect map entirely

Yankees prospect RHP Jose Campos has been placed on High-A Tampa's disabled list with right elbow inflammation, according to Josh Norris of Baseball America.

Campos, 21, had been dealing with a sore elbow since March and was yet to take the mound for Tampa this season before hitting the DL. Campos was acquired by the Yankees in the Jesus Montero-Michael Pineda trade, but his problematic elbow has limited him to just 111 2/3 innings over the last two years at Low-A Charleston. Still, the right-hander was impressive last season when healthy, posting a 3.41 ERA and 77/16 strikeout-to-walk ratio while logging a career-high 87 innings.

Yankees optioned RHP Jose Campos to High-A Tampa.

Campos is still battling elbow issues this spring and will move to the minor league side of camp. The 21-year-old right-hander remains a promising pitching prospect, but arm injuries have stalled his rise through the minor league ranks. He has not yet pitched above A-ball.

Jose Campos (elbow) threw live batting practice Monday.

Campos, 21, has dealt with elbow issues the last two seasons and the Yankees are bringing him along slowly. The right-hander is a nice prospect, but he doesn't have any experience above A-ball and still needs plenty of seasoning.

Yankees purchased the contract of RHP Jose Campos from Class-A Charleston.

The 21-year-old compiled a 3.41 ERA and 77/16 K/BB ratio over 87 innings with Charleston this year. The move ensures the right-hander will be protected during the Rule 5 Draft in December.

The Yankees are hoping right-hander Jose Campos (elbow) will be ready for spring training.

Campos appeared in just five games with Low-A Charleston after being acquired from the Mariners in the Michael Pineda deal last season. The 20-year old has future frontline potential but is likely still a year or two away from reaching the majors.

Yankees' pitching prospect Jose Campos was placed on the seven-day disabled list with Class A Charleston last Thursday due to right elbow discomfort.

Campos, who was acquired from the Mariners in the Michael Pineda deal, had a 4.01 ERA and 26/8 K/BB ratio in 24 2/3 innings over his first five starts this season. The timetable for his return isn't yet clear, but the Yankees are confident he's only dealing with inflammation.

Yankees acquired RHPs Jose Campos and Michael Pineda from the Mariners for DH/C Jesus Montero and RHP Hector Noesi.

Campos is far from a throw-in. Armed with a fastball which sits in the low-to-mid 90s, the 19-year-old right-hander has a 3.26 ERA over parts of three seasons in the minors, averaging 8.8 K/9 and 2.5 BB/9. He posted a 2.32 ERA and an 85/13 K/BB ratio over 81 1/3 innings with Low-A Everett last season. While Campos is still a few years away, he has frontline starter potential.
