Angels designated RHP Vicente Campos for assignment.

Campos put up an 8.22 ERA over 23 innings this season in the Angels' minor league system and needed surgery in June to remove a bone spur from his right elbow. The 25-year-old right-hander will likely clear waivers.

Vicente Campos underwent surgery Tuesday to remove a bone spur from his right elbow.

That'll cost him at least a couple of months, and possibly the remainder of the 2017 regular season. Campos, a 24-year-old starter with a 3.86 career minor league ERA, has a checkered recent history of elbow and forearm issues.

Angels activated RHP Vicente Campos from the 10-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Campos is over his forearm injury but will work his way up through the minors first. Given the Angels' injury issues in their bullpen, he should get a shot eventually.
Apr 24 - 7:17 PM

Angels placed RHP Vicente Campos on the 10-day disabled list with a right forearm injury.

Campos is dealing with a nerve issue in his right forearm. The 24-year-old made his big league debut last season, allowing two runs over 5 2/3 innings in mop-up duty for the D'Backs. Campos will probably head back to the minors once he's healthy.
Apr 1 - 8:24 PM

Angels claimed RHP Vicente Campos off waivers from the Diamondbacks.

Campos, 24, was acquired by the D'Backs from the Yankees in the Tyler Clippard trade. He'll get a late start to 2017 following surgery to repair an ulnar fracture in his right arm.

Vicente Campos has an ulnar fracture in his right arm and needs surgery.

The expected recovery time is eight months, which means Campos will not be ready for the beginning of the 2017 season. The 24-year-old right-hander spent the majority of the 2016 campaign in the minors, posting a 3.22 ERA in 142 2/3 innings split between five different affiliates.

Diamondbacks optioned RHP Vicente Campos to Double-A Mobile.

The move clears a 25-man roster spot for Shelby Miller, who will return to the Diamondbacks' rotation on Wednesday afternoon against the Giants. Campos allowed three runs -- two earned -- in 5 2/3 innings out of the Arizona bullpen. He should get another shot in September.

Diamondbacks recalled RHP Vicente Campos from Double-A Mobile.

The D'Backs could use some backup after last night's game finished in just under five hours. Campos was acquired last month in a deal that sent Tyler Clippard to the Yankees. He's pitched reasonably well since the trade with a 3.60 ERA over four starts for Mobile. This is the right-hander's first stint in the big leagues.

Diamondbacks acquired RHP Vicente Campos from the Yankees in exchange for RHP Tyler Clippard.

Campos has battled injuries since landing with the Yankees in the Michael Pineda deal, but he's been healthy this year and has put up a 3.20 ERA and 105/38 K/BB ratio over 121 innings across three levels. He might ultimately be a reliever in the long run but isn't a bad pick-up for the D'Backs.

Yankees RHP prospect Vicente Campos tossed seven innings of three-hit ball Wednesday in a win for Double-A Trenton.

He fanned seven and didn't allow a walk. Campos has made a seamless transition to Double-A, cruising to a 2.08 ERA in his first four starts. The 23-year-old was promoted last month after opening the year with a 4-2 record in 10 outings for High-A Tampa. Between the two levels, opponents have hit just .220 off Campos this season with 82 punch-outs in 305 at-bats.

Yankees optioned RHP Vicente Campos to High-A Tampa.

Campos posted a rough 6.29 ERA in 54 1/3 innings last season between three different levels of the Yankees' minor league system. The 23-year-old right-hander is still regarded as a promising young talent, but elbow troubles have somewhat derailed his career and he needs to take a big step forward in 2016.

Yankees purchased the contract of RHP Vicente Campos from High-A Tampa.

He's now back on the 40-man roster. Campos, who came over from the Mariners in the Michael Pineda trade, missed all of 2014 after Tommy John surgery and posted a 7.05 ERA and 31/10 K/BB ratio in 44 2/3 innings in his return to action at the High-A level this season. He's still just 23 years old, so the Yankees aren't giving up on him yet.

Yankees re-signed RHP Jose Campos to a minor league contract.

Campos was non-tendered by the Yankees on December 3 and apparently found little interest on the free agent market. The 22-year-old right-hander underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery last April.

Yankees non-tendered RHP Jose Campos.

Campos was a piece in the Jesus Montero/Michael Pineda trade. At the time, he seemed to be an interesting young arm that could be developed. However, he underwent Tommy John surgery last April and now that the Yankees have cut bait with the righty, he'll have to find another landing spot to continue his recovery and progression.
