Adonis Garcia went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's win over the Mets.
The Braves held just a 1-0 lead heading into the eighth inning, but opened up some much-needed breathing room with a four-run frame. The big blow came courtesy of Garcia, who provided in the clutch when he launched a three-run homer off reliever Logan Verrett. For the season, the 31-year-old third baseman is slashing .253/.296/.356 with five homers and 21 RBI over 194 at-bats. He can be safely avoided for fantasy purposes. Jun 26 - 5:59 PM

Adonis Garcia hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning to break a tie and lead the Braves to a 4-2 win over the Mets on Thursday.

Garcia got just enough of an Addison Reed pitch to clear the wall in left field for the game-winning dinger. It was his fourth of the year and his third in his last 10 games. He's hitting .389 with six RBI and six runs scored in that span, bringing his overall line up to .258/.304/.346.

Adonis Garcia (ankle) struck out as a pinch-hitter on Tuesday night against the Marlins.

Garcia hasn't started a game since injuring his left ankle last Thursday, but he would seem to be pretty close. The third baseman is slashing .258/.305/.331 with three homers and 14 RBI in 49 games this season.
Jun 22 - 8:46 AM

Adonis Garcia (ankle) is aiming to return to the Braves' starting lineup on Tuesday.

Garcia hasn't played since tweaking his ankle while running the bases on Thursday afternoon. He could pinch-hit Saturday and Sunday, but the third baseman is still having issues with lateral movement.

Adonis Garcia (ankle) is not in the Braves' lineup Friday.

Garcia left Thursday's game with a sore ankle. He's not expected to be sidelined for more than a day or two. Chase d'Arnaud is handling third base Friday.
Jun 17 - 5:42 PM

Adonis Garcia left Thursday's game against the Reds because of mild ankle soreness.

Garcia tweaked his ankle while running the bases in the bottom of the seventh inning. He finished the afternoon 1-for-4. Consider the third baseman day-to-day.
Jun 16 - 3:03 PM

Adonis Garcia was pulled from Thursday's game against the Reds with an apparent injury.

Garcia called for a trainer after running from first base to second base on a Jace Peterson single in the bottom of the seventh inning. Erick Aybar replaced him on the bases. Look for an update on Garcia shortly.
Jun 16 - 2:38 PM

Adonis Garcia went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Reds.

Garcia had two of the Braves' five base knocks on the night and also added a stolen base. He's re-established himself as the club's regular at third base since Gordon Beckham (hamstring) went down and has gone 8-for-21 with two homers over his last five contests.
Jun 14 - 10:51 PM

Adonis Garcia went 3-for-3 including a solo home run as the Braves defeated the Cubs 5-1 in Atlanta on Friday evening.

Garcia got the Braves on the board with a solo homer off of Jason Hammel in the second inning, which was immediately followed by a Tyler Flowers blast, the first time the Braves have hit back-to-back home runs this season. Garcia also drew a walk in the contest, reaching base safely in all four of his plate appearances. He's now hitting .242/.294/.302 with two homers and 11 RBI.
Jun 10 - 11:44 PM

Adonis Garcia went 0-for-4 in the loss to the Giants on Thursday.

When the Braves recalled Garcia last week, it sounded like he'd play more left field than third base. However, that was before Gordon Beckham got hurt, opening up more playing time at the hot corner. Garcia is an awful defensive third baseman and he also hasn't hit at all this year (.232, .561 OPS in 125 AB), so it's not like he needs to be in the lineup anyway. Still, the Braves aren't worrying overly much about results.
Jun 2 - 3:10 PM

Braves recalled 3B/OF Adonis Garcia from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Garcia was optioned earlier this month after a slow start but got his act together at Gwinnett, batting .356/.413/.616 with four homers over 80 plate appearances. He figures to see time both at third base and left field.
May 27 - 2:46 PM

Braves optioned 3B Adonis Garcia to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Garcia opened the season as the club's starting third baseman and cleanup hitter, so it's a pretty quick fall from grace here. While he's a butcher defensively at third base, Garcia was hitting a respectable .260/.321/.631 with a homer and seven RBI in 109 plate appearances. He'll get another shot with the Braves at some point this season.
May 6 - 11:32 PM

Adonis Garcia went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Friday night's loss to the Mets.

Garcia isn't hitting for the same kind of power he did in his brief big-league appearance a year ago; however, the 31-year-old third baseman owns a .309/.397/.382 slash line and has shown good feel for hitting through his first 16 games. Batting behind Freddie Freeman, one figures that he'll get a few RBI opportunities. If the power suddenly shows up like it did a year ago, too, he could be a nifty little fantasy pick-up off the waiver wire in deeper leagues.
Apr 23 - 12:41 AM

Adonis Garcia (knee) is back in the Braves' starting lineup Thursday versus the Dodgers.

Garcia was limited to pinch-hitting duties on Wednesday night after taking a pitch off his knee on Tuesday. He only suffered a mild contusion and will return to the cleanup spot for the Braves on Thursday afternoon against Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw.
Apr 21 - 10:01 AM

Adonis Garcia (knee) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest with the Dodgers.

Garcia was hit by a pitch on the knee on Tuesday and is dealing with a knee contusion. He is being replaced in Wednesday's lineup by Daniel Castro. Adjust your daily lineups accordingly. This is not considered to be a major injury. Garcia will likely be back in the fray for the Braves come Friday's series with the Mets.
