Braves recalled INF/OF Joey Terdoslavich from Triple-A Gwinnett.
He'll replace the injured Freddie Freeman (wrist) on the active roster. The 26-year-old Terdoslavich has missed most of the season with a wrist injury, but he gives the Braves some depth between first base and the outfield. Jun 23 - 1:59 PM

Braves optioned INF/OF Joey Terdoslavich to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Terdoslavich hit a pinch-hit, go-ahead home run in Tuesday's game but finds himself back in the minors the next day. He's clearing room for Kelly Johnson's return from the disabled list.

Braves activated INF/OF Joey Terdoslavich from the 15-day disabled list.

Terdoslavich has been out all season with a wrist injury but is now ready to go after hitting .310/.389/.448 on a rehab assignment. He'll back up at first base and the corner outfield spots.

Braves placed INF/OF Joey Terdoslavich on the 15-day disabled list with a wrist injury.

Terdo hurt the wrist when he dove for a ball in a Grapefruit League game. He was given a cortisone injection and the Braves hope he won't be sidelined long.
Apr 5 - 3:55 PM

Joey Terdoslavich was given an injection over the weekend for his sore wrist.

Terdoslavich injured the wrist on March 21 when he dove for a ball in a Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals. The hope is that he'll be able to return to exhibition games this week. He had been hitting well this spring in his bid for an Opening Day roster spot.

Braves recalled OF Joey Terdoslavich from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Terdoslavich was hitting .256/.337/.385 in 569 plate appearances this season at the Triple-A level. The 25-year-old can play first base and both corner outfield spots but probably won't get much playing time in Atlanta.

Braves outfield prospect Joey Terdoslavich went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one (intentional) walk on Friday for Triple-A Gwinnett.

Terdoslavich rivals Joc Pederson as the most blocked prospects in the minor leagues, as he is behind Freddie Freeman at first base, and Justin Upton, Jason Heyward, and Evan Gattis as corner outfielders on the depth chart. However, Terdoslavich keeps hitting, putting up a solid .320/.374/.461 in the third consecutive season in which he has spent time in Gwinnett. He hit .215/.315/.266 as a reserve in the majors this season, so it is unlikely he could be a big trade piece.

Braves OF prospect Joey Terdoslavich went 3-for-5 with a double for Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.

The switch-hitting Terdoslavich has put up solid, though never spectacular, batting lines ever since his breakout 2011 season. He can play a solid first base and corner outfield, and can fill in at third base. However, the Braves strengths are at first base and outfield corners, so he will remain little more than trade bait and a back-up in the event of multiple injuries.

Braves optioned OF Joey Terdoslavich to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Terdoslavich hit just .158/.289/.263 in 45 plate appearances this spring in the Grapefruit League. He never had a legit shot at an Opening Day roster spot.

Joey Terdoslavich had a homer and a two-run single to lead the Braves to a 6-1 win over the Rays on Friday.

Terdoslavich was 2-for-24 this spring before his nice game today. He spent the final three months of last season in the majors with the Braves, but he's expected to return to Triple-A to play regularly at the beginning of this season.

Joey Terdoslavich has been working out some at catcher this spring.

Terdoslavich has never played the position as a pro and likely would only be used there in an emergency situation. Given that the Braves will carry three catchers on their Opening Day roster, the likelihood of Terdoslavich seeing time behind the plate this year is slim.

Braves purchased the contract of 1B/OF Joey Terdoslavich from Triple-A Gwinnett.

The young slugger will join up with the Braves on Thursday evening in Atlanta. Terdoslavich, 24, has hit .318/.359/.567 with 18 homers and 58 RBI in 85 games this season at Gwinnett, but he might not play enough this time around to hold fantasy value. Freddie Freeman, Justin Upton, B.J. Upton and Jason Heyward are healthy.

Joey Terdoslavich went 4-for-4 on Saturday and is 9-for-14 with a homer this spring.

The Braves have pretty much given up on Terdoslavich as a third baseman, so it appears he'll play the outfield corners in Triple-A this year. That doesn't bode well for his major league chances -- especially not on a team with two Upton brothers and Jason Heyward -- but maybe he'll be included in a trade if he keeps hitting.
