He'll take the place of Carter Capps (elbow) on the active roster. Caminero allowed seven runs over 4 1/3 innings in his first stint with the big club this season and will hope to do better this time around.

Caminero was brilliant this spring, putting up a 2.00 ERA and 9/1 K/BB ratio over nine innings of work, but he has an option remaining and sometimes that's how these decisions go toward the end of spring training. We'll surely hear from him again soon.

Arquimedes Caminero lowered his spring ERA to 1.13 by pitching a perfect inning against the Astros on Friday.

Remember Caminero's name: he could be the Marlins' next closer. He's allowed just two hits, walked none and struck out eight this spring.

According to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, Arquimedes Caminero could see an increased role in the Marlins bullpen in 2014.

With the departures of Chad Qualls and Ryan Webb, the Marlins will be looking for a bridge in the late innings to get the ball to closer Steve Cishek. The hard-throwing 26-year-old impressed during his time with the Marlins in 2013, posting a 2.77 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 12/3 K/BB ratio over 13 innings.

Caminero spent the majority of this season with the Marlins' Double-A affiliate, where he had a 3.61 ERA over 42 appearances. The 26-year-old will provide bullpen depth.

Caminero holds a 3.61 ERA with 68 strikeouts over 52 1/3 innings for Jacksonville this season. He work the middle innings and will be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.

Caminero had a fine year between High- and Double-A this season, posting a 1.64 ERA while striking out 44 over 38 1/3 frames. The righty has major league stuff but not major league control at this point.
