Hitting out of the cleanup spot in the lineup on Thursday, Kole Calhoun went 2-for-5 and plated three runs, leading the Angels to a 6-5 victory over the Athletics.

Calhoun drove home a pair of runs with a two-run single off Jesse Chavez in the fifth inning and added a run-scoring single in the seventh that proved to be the difference in the ballgame. He wraps up a tremendous April slashing .315/.367/.493 with three homers and 13 RBI.
Apr 30 - 7:28 PM

Kole Calhoun hit a two-run homer for the only runs of the game as the Angels beat the A's on Thursday.

It was the Angels' lone hit, making this the third nine-inning game in franchise history that they've won while being one-hit (the others coming in 1969 and 1986). Calhoun has three homers and 10 RBI in 13 games from his spot atop the Angels order.
Apr 23 - 9:58 PM

Kole Calhoun went 4-for-5 with a three-run home run and three runs scored as the Angels demolished the Athletics on Tuesday.

Calhoun's big blow came in the bottom of the seventh, when he went yard against Fernando Abad to push the Angels' lead to 13-1. The performance did wonders for his triple-slash line, bringing it up to .293/.326/.537. He has two home runs and eight RBI in 44 plate appearances thus far.
Apr 22 - 1:31 AM

Kole Calhoun (calf) is back in the Angels' lineup Friday.

It will be his first start since Saturday due to a right calf strain, although he did have a pinch-hit RBI single since then. Calhoun is batting .238/.238/.476 with one home run and five RBI this season for the Halos.
Apr 17 - 4:45 PM

Kole Calhoun (calf) doesn't expect to return to the Angels' starting lineup until Friday.

And his absence might have to extend into the weekend if his calf doesn't respond to treatment over the next couple of days. "It's not there yet," Calhoun told reporters on Tuesday evening. Collin Cowgill is starting in right field on Tuesday night.
Apr 14 - 5:40 PM

Kole Calhoun (calf) is out of the Angels' starting lineup again on Tuesday against the Rangers.

Erick Aybar will bat leadoff instead. Collin Cowgill is in right field, Matt Joyce is in left field, and C.J. Cron is serving as the Angels' designated hitter against Rangers right-hander Nick Martinez. Calhoun hit a pinch-hit RBI single on Monday night but apparently isn't fully past his right calf tightness.
Apr 14 - 4:31 PM

Kole Calhoun (calf) had a pinch-hit RBI single in Monday's game against the Rangers.

Calhoun was out of the starting lineup for a second straight day with right calf tightness. He expects to return Tuesday.
Apr 14 - 8:35 AM

Kole Calhoun (calf) remained out of the Angels' lineup Monday.

He's now missed the last two contests with a calf injury. The Angels aren't terribly concerned and expect Calhoun to be back in the lineup before long. Collin Cowgill is in right field in Calhoun's place and is also batting leadoff. Also notable is that Matt Joyce is getting his first start this season versus a lefty.
Apr 13 - 4:44 PM

Kole Calhoun is not in the Angels' lineup Sunday.

He's just getting a breather. Collin Cowgill is handling right field with Calhoun out, while Eric Aybar is in the leadoff spot. Also sitting Sunday is Johnny Giavotella, with Taylor Featherston covering second base.

Kole Calhoun homered and doubled Saturday to plate three of the Angels' four runs against the Royals.

Jeremy Guthrie was an awfully good matchup for Calhoun, and he took advantage, hitting the homer to lead off the bottom of the first. As the Angels' regular leadoff man, he should be a top-30 fantasy outfielder this year.
Apr 12 - 2:52 AM

Kole Calhoun is in the leadoff spot for the Angels in Monday's opener against the Mariners.

Calhoun should bat leadoff on a regular basis this season for Anaheim, and he'll carry huge fantasy potential in that spot. Anaheim's full Opening Day lineup: Kole Calhoun RF, Mike Trout CF, Albert Pujols 1B, Matt Joyce LF, David Freese 3B, Erick Aybar SS, C.J. Cron DH, Chris Iannetta C, Johnny Giavotella 2B. Jered Weaver is starting for the Halos.
Apr 6 - 12:22 PM

Kole Calhoun (triceps) is expected back in the lineup Saturday.

Calhoun is sitting Friday after having to leave Thursday's game following a hit by pitch in his right triceps. The Angels are just being careful, though, as the outfielder is fine.
Mar 27 - 1:52 PM

Angels manager Mike Scioscia hopes that Kole Calhoun (triceps) will be able to return to action on Friday.

Calhoun had to exit Thursday's contest after being hit in the right triceps with a pitch, but he was diagnosed only with a bruise and will be fine. The outfielder is batting .293 during Cactus League play.
Mar 26 - 10:15 PM

Kole Calhoun has been diagnosed with a bruised right triceps.

Calhoun suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch during Thursday's game versus the Cubs. He initially remained in the game, suggesting his removal was merely precautionary. Until we hear otherwise, it's probably safe to assume this is just a day-to-day situation.
