Kole Calhoun went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Twins.
Calhoun, who has been on fire, was destined to torment Mike Pelfrey. He did just that. The outfielder, who came into tonight with three homers in his past four games, is slashing .276/.332/.438 and is on pace for 22 dingers and 91 RBI. Jul 23 - 1:17 AM

Kole Calhoun homered again and the Angels routed the Red Sox to take game one of Monday's doubleheader.

Calhoun, who finished 1-for-2 with a walk, drilled a two-run home run to right-center as part of a seven-run second inning against Eduardo Rodriguez. It's his third home run in two days and his sixth in his last 11 games. The outfielder now has 13 home runs, 51 RBI, and a .273/.329/.440 batting line.

Kole Calhoun went 3-for-3 with two homers and a walk Saturday against the Red Sox.

Calhoun played the role of Mike Trout in this one, collecting 60 percent of the Angels' hits in the 3-0 victory. Thanks to his resurgence -- he has five homers in his last 10 games -- it again looks like the Angels have three quality hitters in their lineup, rather than just two.
Jul 18 - 11:53 PM

Kole Calhoun turned in his fourth straight two-hit game Tuesday, finishing 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in a win over the Rockies.

The outfielder has been on a tear in recent days, going 8-for-19 with three doubles, two homers, 10 RBI and seven runs scored over his past four games. The good stretch has helped raise his line just in time for the All-Star break, as he's now hitting .268/.322/.406 with nine homers, 46 RBI and 35 runs scored. He's still got a few more days to improve on those numbers before the break.
Jul 8 - 12:38 AM

Kole Calhoun had a nice day at the dish in Sunday's victory over the Rangers, going 2-for-5 with a homer and four RBI.

Calhoun also scored a pair of runs in the ballgame. His three-run blast off Anthony Ranaudo in the fifth inning increased the Angels lead to 12-1. With the two-hit attack, he's now hitting .266/.320/.403 on the season with nine long balls and 46 RBI.
Jul 5 - 10:20 PM

Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a homer and a walk against the Rangers on Saturday.

Calhoun also doubled twice and drove in four runs Friday. The Angels badly need for him to get going, especially in the power department. His fantasy owners would appreciate it, too.
Jul 5 - 1:16 AM

Kole Calhoun singled twice and scored the winning run on a wild pitch as the Angels edged the Mariners 3-2 in 10 innings Sunday.

Calhoun singled in the go-ahead run to give the Angels a 2-1 lead in the eighth, though that was later coughed up by Huston Street. In the 10th, he singled off Tom Wilhelmsen and came around to score on the wild pitch with two outs. He's been a big fantasy disappointment of late, but now that he's back hitting in front of Mike Trout, rather than in the middle of the order, he seems like a better bet.
Jun 28 - 7:55 PM

Kole Calhoun clubbed a two-run homer in Saturday's win over the Mariners.

He was hitless in his other three at-bats with two strikeouts. Calhoun has now hit safely in six of his last seven games. The 27-year-old is on pace for 73 RBI. That's well above his career-high of 58.
Jun 27 - 10:07 PM

Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI as the Angels' cleanup man Friday against the A's.

We still think Calhoun is better cast as a leadoff man, but the Angels think he's better utilized hitting behind Albert Pujols at the moment. He's up to six homers and 31 RBI for the year.
Jun 13 - 1:54 AM

Kole Calhoun knocked in four runs, going 3-for-5 on Tuesday as the Angels easily beat the Rays.

Calhoun doubled in the Angels' first run in the first inning. RBI number two came in the sixth inning on a single, and he added two more on a single in the eighth inning. The outfielder has slumped over the last several weeks, watching his OPS tumble into the low .700's. He's currently batting .274/.335/.399 with five home runs and 29 RBI.
Jun 9 - 10:29 PM

Kole Calhoun went 3-for-4 with an RBI single and two runs scored Friday against the Yankees.

It was his first multi-hit game since May 22. Calhoun has really struggled out of the cleanup spot thus far, but he's obviously still in a great position to provide fantasy value.
Jun 5 - 10:59 PM

Kole Calhoun went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run as the Angels defeated the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Calhoun tied the game up at 1-1 with a fourth-inning solo blast off of Aaron Sanchez. He then led off the seventh inning with a walk and came around to score the tying run to make it 2-2. Calhoun is batting a productive .299/.358/.453 with four home runs and 19 RBI on the year.
May 19 - 9:44 PM

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Monday that Kole Calhoun is the club's new cleanup hitter.

That's where Calhoun is batting on Monday afternoon in Toronto, and it's where he'll remain for the foreseeable future. Calhoun has primarily been used as a leadoff man in his young major league career, but Scioscia wants the 27-year-old to see more RBI opportunities. Calhoun is slashing .302/.359/.434 with three home runs and 18 RBI in 34 games this season. Erick Aybar is at leadoff on Monday.
May 18 - 11:30 AM

Kole Calhoun went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, raising his batting average to .310 in Tuesday's win against the Rockies.

Despite the three-hit night, the Angels didn't once bring him around to score. The Angels' leadoff man is batting .310/.363/.460 with three home runs, 18 RBI, and 14 runs scored on the season.
May 13 - 1:16 AM

Kole Calhoun is once again hitting cleanup in the Angels lineup on Saturday.

That's with the return of Albert Pujols to the Angels lineup, and could be a permanent development. The 27-year-old is hitting .320/.386/.493 with three homers and 13 RBI in 20 games on the year.
