Date:

Kole Calhoun went 0-for-4 in the loss to the White Sox on Monday.

It seemed like Calhoun figured things out in August, but now he's slumping again; he's hit .185 with no homers and two RBI in his last 16 games. In a year in which everyone else is hitting for more power than usual, Calhoun has seen his slugging percentage dip from a career mark of .436 to .384.
Sep 25 - 11:43 PM

Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI triple in Wednesday's loss to the A's.

Calhoun came through with an RBI triple in the eighth inning to cut the Athletics' advantage to 3-1, but no further runs would score in the game. The triple was Calhoun's second of the season. He has now picked up multiple hits in three of his last four games. For the campaign as a whole, the 29-year-old outfielder is working to a .249/.335/.398 triple-slash with 17 homers and 65 RBI across 498 at-bats.
Sep 6 - 7:17 PM

Kole Calhoun went 3-for-5 and delivered a two-run triple in the top of the 11th to help the Angels beat the A's 11-9 on Monday.

The Angels used 12 pitchers on their way to the win tonight. But that's why we love September baseball (note: we don't actually love September baseball). Calhoun's triple, his first of the year, was a grounder down the first base line that got past Matt Olsen and down into the corner. He's now batting .317 with four homers and 19 RBI in 30 games since the beginning of August.
Sep 4 - 9:28 PM

Kole Calhoun hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the Angels' 3-2 win over the Nationals on Wednesday.

Calhoun went way deep to right field off Nationals starter Tanner Roark in the top of the sixth inning. He also drew a walk in the afternoon victory in Washington, D.C., finishing 1-for-3. The 29-year-old outfielder is now slashing .241/.320/.374 with 14 home runs and 49 RBI in 115 games this season for the Wild Card-hunting Halos.
Aug 16 - 4:17 PM

Kole Calhoun went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Orioles.

No extra-base knock for Calhoun in his three-hit showing, but three hits are three hits regardless. For the season as a whole, the outfielder is slashing .244/.318/.376 with 13 homers and 47 RBI over the course of 109 games played. He has turned in multi-hit performances in four of his last six games, with a pair of three-hit efforts (including Wednesday's) in that space.
Aug 9 - 8:21 PM

Kole Calhoun went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI single and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the A's.

Calhoun picked up an RBI single in the fifth inning. He has been seeing the ball well of late, having notched seven hits during this weekend set against the A's. For the campaign as a whole, the outfielder is slashing .241/.318/.376 with 13 homers and 46 RBI across 399 at-bats.
Aug 6 - 7:57 PM

Kole Calhoun (hamstring) is back in the Angels' lineup Friday.

It's Calhoun's first start since he strained a hamstring Sunday. He's in right field and batting cleanup against the Athletics.
Aug 4 - 5:49 PM

Kole Calhoun (hamstring) expects to return Friday against the Athletics.

Calhoun hasn't been in the lineup since Sunday while recovering from a hamstring strain but is finally ready to give it a go. He'll be available off the bench Thursday against the Phillies and expects to be back in the starting nine for Friday night's series opener. The 29-year-old has slashed .231/.310/.366 with 13 homers, 45 RBI and five steals for the Halos this year.
Aug 3 - 7:53 PM

Kole Calhoun (hamstring) remains out of the Angels' lineup Thursday against the Phillies.

Calhoun hasn't seen the field since injuring his hamstring on Sunday. The Angels have so far held off on placing him on the disabled list, though Calhoun may force their hand if he doesn't improve quickly. Ramon Flores will draw another start in right field and bat ninth versus Phillies hurler Jerad Eickhoff.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: Once again, Calhoun's absence opens up value in the way of Ben Revere and Luis Valbuena, both of whom will slot into prime run producing spots against Jerad Eickhoff, who has had a much tougher time with left-handed bats this year. He's never going to win a batting title, but Valbuena's .250 ISO at home vs. RHP makes him a nice boom-or-bust GPP play. Revere's speed makes him a viable punt play across the board out of the leadoff spot.
Aug 3 - 5:56 PM

Kole Calhoun (hamstring) is not in the Angels' lineup Tuesday against the Phillies.

Calhoun is nursing a hamstring strain but for now, the Angels will hold off on placing him on the disabled list. Ramon Flores, who was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake earlier today, will hold down right field and bat eighth Tuesday against Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola.
Aug 1 - 7:35 PM

Kole Calhoun (hamstring) will not be placed on the disabled list for the time being.

An MRI on his right hamstring revealed something "between a spasm and a Grade 1 strain," according to Angels general manager Billy Eppler. It's certainly possible that Calhoun won't recover as hoped and eventually wind up on the DL, but for now he's considered day-to-day.
Jul 31 - 6:42 PM

Angels' outfielder Kole Calhoun said after Sunday's game that his right hamstring injury occurred while running the bases, not during a play in right field.

He also admitted that he's concerned about the injury. He's set to undergo an MRI to determine the severity, but it looks increasingly likely that he could be looking at a trip to the disabled list.
Jul 30 - 5:16 PM

Kole Calhoun will undergo an MRI on Monday after being lifted from Sunday's game against the Blue Jays with a sore right hamstring.

Calhoun evidently tweaked the hamstring while trying to track down a flyball. Obviously more will be known after the MRI results come in, but anything a hamstring is involved there's usually a good chance it leads to a stint on the disabled list.
Jul 30 - 3:36 PM

Kole Calhoun exited Sunday's game versus the Blue Jays with an undisclosed injury.

Calhoun might have tweaked something while trying to make a running catch in the outfield. The Angels should have an update on his status soon.
