Angels signed OF Kole Calhoun to a three-year, $26 million contract extension.
The deal includes a $14 million option for 2020. Jeff Flecher of the Orange County Register passed along the final contract details. The two sides just recently agreed to a one-year, $6.35 million contract for 2017, but now the Angels have bought out all three remaining years of arbitration and potentially his first year of free agency. The 29-year-old is coming off a strong season where he batted .271/.348/.438 with 18 home runs and 75 RBI over 157 games. Jan 18 - 3:04 PM

Kole Calhoun (core muscle surgery) has been cleared for all baseball activity, per Angels general manager Billy Eppler.

Calhoun underwent surgery in October to repair a bilateral core muscle injury. He's had plenty of time to rest up and should be 100 percent for spring training. The 29-year-old is coming off a strong season where he batted .271/.348/.438 with 18 home runs, 75 RBI, and 91 runs scored over 157 games.

Kole Calhoun will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a bilateral core muscle injury.

The surgery will be performed by Dr. William Myers in Philadelphia. Calhoun will need 6-8 weeks of recovery time, but he can begin his normal offseason training from there and should be ready for spring training. Calhoun batted .271/.348/.438 with 18 home runs and 75 RBI over 157 games this season.

Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 and hit his 18th homer Wednesday as the Angels beat the A's 8-6.

Calhoun wasn't very good the first two months of the second half, but he's torn it up lately, going 11-for-18 with five doubles in his last five games. His .350 OBP is a nice surprise; he hit 26 homers last year, but he came in at just .308 in the OBP department then.

Kole Calhoun went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Astros.

He had an RBI single in the eighth inning and a ground rule double in the ninth to drive in another run. He has a .264 batting average with 17 home runs, 70 RBI and 88 runs scored after 150 games. He is a solid fourth fantasy outfielder.

Kole Calhoun is back in the Angels' lineup Friday.

Calhoun was away for a few days following the birth of his son. He's in right field and batting second against Doug Fister and the Astros.

Kole Calhoun is expected to return to the Angels starting lineup on Friday.

The right fielder missed the past three games to be with his wife for the birth of his son. The 28-year-old will return to a .263/.342/.418 slash line with 17 homers and 68 RBI on the season.

Kole Calhoun is not in Monday's lineup against the Rangers.

No word yet on the reason for his absence. Shane Robinson will make the start in right field and bat ninth against Texas left-hander Martin Perez.

Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored two runs in a win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

He doubled home a run in the seventh inning then rode home on a Mike Trout single. Calhoun is batting .265 with 17 home runs, 68 RBI and 86 runs scored. He makes for a good supporting player on fantasy rosters but is not worthy of an everyday starting slot on championship-caliber teams.

Kole Calhoun doubled and ripped a solo home run in Monday's win over the Athletics.

Calhoun led off the second inning with a longball and reached base an additional two times after that with a double and a walk. The Angels had no trouble against rookie Raul Alcantara and the A's bullpen, as they pounded out 14 hits and 10 runs. Calhoun's power has predictably fallen off after last year's 26-homer campaign, but he's remained productive with a .270/.350/.430 batting line and 16 longballs.

Kole Calhoun smoked a two-run bomb in the first inning and drilled a solo homer in the third inning to help lead the Angels to a beatdown of the Mariners on Saturday.

The first dinger started a string of back-to-back-to-back longballs with Mike Trout and Albert Pujols following suit. Calhoun is a solid member of the supporting cast both for the Angels and for fantasy teams, but he is not good enough to be a leading man. He is batting .269 with 15 homers, 81 runs scored and 64 RBI.

Kole Calhoun launched his 12th home run of the season on Friday, but it wasn't enough to lead the Angels to victory over the Indians.

Calhoun blasted his solo shot off of Carlos Carrasco in the first inning, giving the Angels an early 1-0 lead, but it would be very short-lived. He also doubled, finishing the night 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and is now hitting .276/.354/.426 with 12 homers and 56 RBI.

Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a home run in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs.

Calhoun got the Angels on the board early with a solo shot off Cubs starter John Lackey, but he ended up with two of the Angels' three total hits on the night. The homer was just the 11th for Calhoun this year, after he hit 26 a year ago. The 28-year-old is batting .276/.354/.417 with 55 RBI and 68 runs scored overall.

Kole Calhoun went 3-for-4 and scored two runs in the Angels' loss on Saturday.

He was driven in by Mike Trout twice, once on a homer, once on a triple. If you get on base in front of Trout your chances of scoring are good. Calhoun is batting .274/.353/.411 with 10 home runs, 67 runs scored and 54 RBI in 108 games.
