Kole Calhoun hit a three-run homer Monday in the Angels' 5-3 win over the White Sox.
Mike Trout immediately followed it with a solo homer of his own, giving the Angels a 4-3 lead in the fifth inning. Calhoun's homer was his fifth of the year and first since he hit one in three straight games April 30-May 3. He hasn't contributed much besides the homers; he's batting just .226/.299/.354 in 155 at-bats. Still, he should be a solid mixed-league outfielder the rest of the way. May 16 - 1:32 AM

Kole Calhoun went 1-for-4 with a double in Sunday's loss to the Astros.

The double was Calhoun's fifth of the season. For the campaign as a whole, the outfielder is slashing .248/.319/.384 with four homers and 11 RBI over the course of 125 at-bats.
May 7 - 6:47 PM

Kole Calhoun finished 2-for-5 with a double and solo home run with two runs scored in Wednesday's loss in Seattle.

Calhoun had just one homer through his first 25 games, but he has belted homers in three consecutive outings to make up for lost time. He also had just six RBI over the first 25, but he has driven in four during the homer barrage. Strike while the iron is hot, particularly in DFS play as Calhoun is a nice mid-tier value.
May 4 - 2:36 AM

Kole Calhoun finished 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored in the Angels' win over the Rangers on Sunday.

Calhoun hit a game-tying solo shot off Rangers starter Martin Perez in the top of the third inning and then scored after reaching on a fielder's choice in the top of the fifth. The 29-year-old outfielder had a big weekend in Arlington, Texas and looks ready to begin producing high-level fantasy numbers after a sluggish start to the season.
Apr 30 - 7:09 PM

Kole Calhoun managed just one hit in five at-bats Tuesday against the Athletics but that one hit was the game-winning RBI single in the 11th inning.

Calhoun started off on fire, but he is just 5-for-41 (.122) over the past 11 outings to drop his average to just .215 on the season. Perhaps the game-winning knock will give him a little more confidence and get him going again. The RBI was just his second since April 8.
Apr 26 - 2:22 AM

Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the Angels' 5-1 win over the Mariners on Friday.

Calhoun is 7-for-19 with two walks and four runs scored in five games. If only he were any sort of basestealer, he could be a top-20 fantasy outfielder with regularity. As is, he's not quite so valuable, though he's perfectly solid.
Apr 8 - 1:55 AM

Kole Calhoun went 3-for-5 in Wednesday's win over the A's.

All three of Calhoun's hits went for singles. He also scored a run in the victory. The 29-year-old outfielder put in a nice all-around campaign in 2016, when he slashed .271/.348/.438 while bopping 18 homers and driving in 75 runs over 595 at-bats. He has cracked double-digit home runs in each of the last three seasons, including a career-best 26 in 2015.
Apr 6 - 1:55 AM

Kole Calhoun went 1-for-3 with an RBI double as the Angels topped the Brewers 6-5 in Cactus League play on Friday.

Calhoun is off to a strong start this spring, hitting .429 in the early going. He's set to open the season hitting second in front of Mike Trout which should once again lead to ample run-scoring opportunities for the veteran outfielder.
Mar 3 - 7:52 PM

Kole Calhoun went 1-for-2 with an RBI single in Monday's 5-3 win over the Padres.

He promptly got picked off first base after his third-inning single. Calhoun figures to play every day and bat early in the lineup, making him a good bet to repeat the .271/.348/.438 slash line with 18 home runs, 91 runs scored and 75 RBI he produced last year.
Feb 27 - 7:55 PM

Angels signed OF Kole Calhoun to a three-year, $26 million contract extension.

The deal includes a $14 million option for 2020. Jeff Flecher of the Orange County Register passed along the final contract details. The two sides just recently agreed to a one-year, $6.35 million contract for 2017, but now the Angels have bought out all three remaining years of arbitration and potentially his first year of free agency. The 29-year-old is coming off a strong season where he batted .271/.348/.438 with 18 home runs and 75 RBI over 157 games.
Jan 18 - 3:04 PM

Angels and OF Kole Calhoun avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $6.35 million contract.

Calhoun was eligible for arbitration for the second time. He's batted .266/.327/.436 in his three full seasons for the Angels.
Jan 13 - 12:14 PM

Kole Calhoun (core muscle surgery) has been cleared for all baseball activity, per Angels general manager Billy Eppler.

Calhoun underwent surgery in October to repair a bilateral core muscle injury. He's had plenty of time to rest up and should be 100 percent for spring training. The 29-year-old is coming off a strong season where he batted .271/.348/.438 with 18 home runs, 75 RBI, and 91 runs scored over 157 games.
Jan 10 - 10:05 AM

Kole Calhoun will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a bilateral core muscle injury.

The surgery will be performed by Dr. William Myers in Philadelphia. Calhoun will need 6-8 weeks of recovery time, but he can begin his normal offseason training from there and should be ready for spring training. Calhoun batted .271/.348/.438 with 18 home runs and 75 RBI over 157 games this season.

Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 and hit his 18th homer Wednesday as the Angels beat the A's 8-6.

Calhoun wasn't very good the first two months of the second half, but he's torn it up lately, going 11-for-18 with five doubles in his last five games. His .350 OBP is a nice surprise; he hit 26 homers last year, but he came in at just .308 in the OBP department then.

Kole Calhoun went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Astros.

He had an RBI single in the eighth inning and a ground rule double in the ninth to drive in another run. He has a .264 batting average with 17 home runs, 70 RBI and 88 runs scored after 150 games. He is a solid fourth fantasy outfielder.
