CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Rangers are expected to discuss a long-term contract extension with Rougned Odor after the World Series.
Odor is under team control through 2019, but the Rangers apparently are interested in obtaining some cost certainty if a deal that would make sense for both sides can be worked out. Slated to turn just 22 next February, Odor got off to a slow start this season and was sent to the minors, but he returned to bat .292/.334/.527 with 15 homers and 52 RBI over his final 91 games. Rougned Odor went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and three runs scored in Thursday's 5-3 ALDS Game 1 win over the Blue Jays.

Odor was all over the place in this one, even knocking out Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson with a (unintentional) knee to the face on a double play attempt in the fourth inning. When he wasn't showing off his best WWE moves, he found himself twice hit by pitches from Blue Jays ace David Price. He also hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to help provide the Rangers with a bit of a cushion. Nice game in the books, the 21-year-old second baseman will square off with Marcus Stroman in Friday's Game 2 as he looks to continue to build his budding postseason highlight reel.

Rougned Odor went 1-for-3 with a triple and a strikeout in Sunday's loss to the Astros.

Of the Rangers' three hits, Odor's triple was the only one of the non-single variety. It was his eighth three-bagger of the season. The 21-year-old second baseman has more than held his own in his second season thanks to a .269/.326/.474 triple-slash with 15 homers, 58 RBI and 52 runs scored over 401 at-bats.

Rougned Odor had a rough day at the dish in Thursday's loss to the Mariners, going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts.

As a team, the Rangers only mustered four total hits and whiffed nine times against Felix Hernandez and company, so Odor wasn't the only one struggling. Even with his rough afternoon, he's hitting a respectable .270/.326/.466 with 12 homers and 47 RBI on the year.

Rougned Odor acknowledged Wednesday that he's still experiencing discomfort in his right hand.

Odor cracked the fingernail on his right middle finger last Tuesday and is having trouble on some throws, but he expects to play through the injury. "I feel good at the plate," Odor said. "Sometimes I feel it but not all the time. Sometimes I hit my finger on the other hand and I feel it. But not when I hit the ball."

Rougned Odor (finger) is back in the Rangers' lineup Monday.

It's Odor's first start since he cracked the fingernail on his right middle finger last Tuesday. The young infielder has hit .336/.369/.581 since returning from the minors.

Aug 30 - 12:15 PM

Rougned Odor (finger) remained out of the Rangers' lineup Saturday against the Orioles.

A cracked fingernail has kept him out since Tuesday. Hansen Alberto will grab another start at second base. With the rosters expanding in a few days, there's no need for Texas to place Odor on the disabled list. The 21-year-old has had a productive year, hitting .280 with a solid .479 slugging percentage.

Rougned Odor (finger) remained out of the Rangers' lineup Friday.

Odor hasn't played since cracking his right middle fingernail when he was hit by a grounder Tuesday. He did work out again prior to the game and should be back in there soon. Hanser Alberto is holding down second base again in Odor's place.
Aug 28 - 4:23 PM

Rougned Odor went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Odor hit a solo homer in the second inning, his 11th home run of the season. Odor added an RBI double in the fourth. The second baseman is having a strong sophomore campaign, batting .280/.333/.479 with 43 RBI and 38 runs scored in 87 games.

X-rays on Rougned Odor's right middle finger came back negative.

Odor's fingers got bloodied up when it was hit by a grounder Tuesday, but it appears he just has a laceration. Consider him day-to-day.
Aug 25 - 10:36 PM

Rougned Odor left Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays after being hit on the right hand by a grounder.

The tip of Odor's right middle finger was noticeably bloody as he was lifted from the contest. He's being sent for an X-ray, although the Rangers are saying it's just precautionary.
Aug 25 - 9:57 PM

Rougned Odor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's win over the Tigers.

Odor's solo homer in the ninth inning was the Ranger's first extra-base hit of the game. It would be their only one of that variety, but they wound up with a 5-3 win despite the lack of team power in the contest. Odor started out the season scuffling in a bad way, but a month in the minors seems to have done him wonders and he's played well since being called back up in mid-June. Overall, he's hitting .277/.331/.463 with 10 homers and 41 RBI.
Aug 22 - 10:55 PM

Rougned Odor went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Mariners on Tuesday.

Odor homered off Mariners starter Hisashi Iwakuma in the second inning, his ninth homer of the season. He also singled in the contest. After a slow start to the year, the 21-year-old's line is up to .280/.337/.462 through 81 games.
Aug 18 - 11:24 PM

Rougned Odor went 2-for-5 with an RBI single and a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to the Angels.

Odor notched an RBI single in the third inning off Angels starter Andrew Heaney, then waited until the ninth to do further damage. At which point, he launched a two-run homer off Huston Street. The bomb was his eighth of the season and pushed his RBI total to 34. He's now homered in three of his last four games and is hitting .271/.339/.486. Since returning from a month-long stint in Triple-A after some early season troubles, he's been absolutely murdering the ball.
