Jace Peterson went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a two-run single in Sunday's win over the Marlins.

Peterson was once again a factor in the Braves' offense a day after hitting a grand slam. He singled in two runs and later scored as part of the Braves' five-run second inning. He's now batting .284/.350/.349 with one home run and 15 RBI.
May 17 - 3:36 PM

Jace Peterson's grand slam powered the Braves to a 5-3 victory over the Marlins on Saturday.

The second inning blast was his first of the season. Peterson batted out of the leadoff slot in the Braves' lineup Saturday and could continue doing so if he keeps producing. He's a good value play in daily games.

Jace Peterson is absent from the Braves' lineup Friday.

He's getting a breather despite putting together three straight multi-hit games. Phil Gosselin is at second base Friday in Peterson's place.
May 8 - 3:53 PM

Jace Peterson went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in the Braves' 4-2 defeat of the Tigers on Monday.

With his .352 average, Peterson is in line to open the season as the Braves' second baseman and No. 2 hitter. He's not going to hit for much power, but he can maintain a decent average and steal bases, giving him some value in NL-only leagues.
Mar 30 - 4:52 PM

Michael Cunningham of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes that Jace Peterson "is in line to play second base" for the Braves.

Alberto Callaspo has played better recently, but Peterson has looked better all spring and appears poised to wrestle the second base job away from the veteran. The news potentially has notable consequence in fantasy leagues, as Peterson stole 148 bases in 389 games in the minors and has hit over .300 there over the last two seasons. He's a deep league middle infield target.
Mar 27 - 9:12 AM

Jace Peterson is fighting an infection in his right pinkie finger.

Peterson had it stepped on a few days ago, but the second baseman said the injury isn't serious. Peterson is the heavy favorite to win the Braves' starting job at the keystone. Peterson was one of the prospects acquired in the Justin Upton trade this winter.
Mar 22 - 10:25 AM

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said Tuesday that he plans to play Jace Peterson alongside Andrelton Simmons in the middle infield "as much as I can" this spring.

With Alberto Callaspo out of shape and struggling, Peterson has "put himself in a favorable position" to win the second base job, according to David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I’m going to try to play those guys (Peterson and Simmons) as much as I can, and we will," Gonzalez said. "They’ll get plenty of reps (repetitions) between the games and practice and fungoes. They’ll be fine." Peterson struggled in his brief time with the Padres last season but is a career .287/.381/.411 hitter in the minors and has piled up gaudy stolen base totals. He makes for a fine late-round target in fantasy leagues for those looking for some cheap speed.
Mar 17 - 10:50 PM

Jace Peterson reached all three times he was up Wednesday, doubling and walking twice.

Peterson, a product of the Justin Upton trade, has a chance to win a spot on the Braves as a part-time second baseman and utilityman. The Melvin Upton Jr. injury likely helps his case, since Eric Young Jr. is now being viewed as more of an outfielder than a part-time second baseman.
Mar 4 - 5:01 PM

Braves acquired INF Jace Peterson from the Padres in the Justin Upton trade.

A former sandwich round pick, Peterson batted .307/.402/.447 with 16 steals between Double- and Triple-A last season and got a cup of coffee in the majors. He's a pretty solid middle infield prospect but didn't land in a great situation in Atlanta with Andrelton Simmons holding down shortstop and Jose Peraza on his way at second base.

Padres optioned INF Jace Peterson to Triple-A El Paso.

The move clears the way for Cameron Maybin's return from the restricted list. Peterson is hitting .113 (6-for-53) over 27 games with the Padres this season and should be back in September.

Padres recalled INF Jace Peterson from Triple-A El Paso.

Peterson is 5-for-50 (.100) in 25 games this season in the majors. He is not a fantasy-relevant player.

Padres optioned INF Jace Peterson to Triple-A El Paso.

He's clearing room for the return of Jesse Hahn to the Padres' rotation. Peterson has hit just .100/.151/.100 across 25 games this season at the big league level but should be back in September, if not before.

Padres recalled INF Jace Peterson from Triple-A El Paso.

Peterson will give the Padres some needed infield depth. He has hit well this season at the Triple-A level, but that success has not translated to the major leagues.

Padres optioned INF Jace Peterson to Triple-A El Paso.

Peterson has only five hits in 50 plate appearances this season in the major leagues. But, he holds a promising .330/.441/.560 batting line at El Paso. He may get another chance later in the season.
