Braves recalled INF Jace Peterson from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Peterson has struggled this season, regardless of level. He slashed just .182/.260/.205 in 50 major league plate appearances prior to being demoted to Triple-A at the beginning of May. With Gwinnett, he has hit an equally uncomfortable .162/.275/.258 over 110 plate appearances. He does not make for a trustworthy fantasy option.

Braves optioned INF Jace Peterson to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Peterson was batting .182/.260/.205 in 50 plate appearances this season at the major league level. The former supplemental first-round draft pick has posted good numbers in the minors, but it just hasn't translated.

Jace Peterson is not in the Braves' lineup on Friday.

Peterson hasn't started a game at second base in over a week even with Gordon Beckham (hamstring) sidelined, although he's seen some time in left field. Daniel Castro is at second base again Friday and it appears he'll be the regular there while Beckham is out.
Apr 22 - 3:12 PM

Jace Peterson went 0-for-3 with a walk while playing third base and left field for the Braves on Monday.

Peterson is expected to remain the Braves' primary second baseman to begin this year, but in the long run, he's likely best suited for a utility role. It's smart thinking for the Braves to keep him involved at other positions.
Mar 7 - 4:56 PM

According to David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Jace Peterson played through most of the 2015 season with an 80 percent tear of the tendon in his right thumb.

Peterson was forced to wear a cast on the thumb for six weeks this offseason to correct the issue. It's impressive that he was able to play through the injury and it certainly bodes well for his offensive outlook moving forward. He slashed .240/.315/.341 with six homers, 52 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 2015, and you have to imagine he'll improve on those numbers with full health heading into 2016.
Jan 30 - 2:26 PM

Jace Peterson clubbed a solo home run as the Braves took down the Mets on Tuesday.

Peterson tied the game at 1-1 in the fifth inning, driving a Logan Verrett offering over the fence in right field. It's his sixth homer of the season and his first since August 3. He's also knocked in 52 runs, scored 53 runs, and compiled a .240/.315/.341 batting line.

Jace Peterson went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, striking the big blow to defeat the Phillies on Sunday.

Peterson broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning when he belted an Adam Morgan offering to right field in the fifth inning. His effort helped the Braves avoid a four-game series sweep in Philadelphia. The second baseman isn't normally one for power, as he's batting .245/.322/.343 with 44 RBI and only four home runs.

Jace Peterson had two hits and three RBI in five plate appearances, helping the Braves stave off the Dodgers for a win on Monday.

Peterson doubled in a pair of runs in the fourth inning to extend the Braves' lead to 4-0. He added an RBI single in the sixth to break a 4-4 tie. The 25-year-old hasn't been much to write home about, as he's hitting .252/.330/.353 with three home runs and 40 RBI while stealing nine bases in 18 attempts.

Jace Peterson hit his third home run of the season in Sunday's win over the Pirates.

Peterson connected with a Vance Worley pitch in the seventh inning to give the Braves a little breathing room. The homer was his second this month and his first in two weeks as he gets settled in atop the Braves lineup. The homer was Peterson's only hit in five at-bats on the afternoon, leaving his line at .266/.344/.375.

Jace Peterson went 2-for-5 with three RBI against the Pirates on Saturday.

With the bases loaded in the seventh inning, Peterson swatted a three-run double to pull the Braves within two runs. The multi-hit game was just his second since June 14 as his overall line has dropped to .267/.346/.367 following a fast start. Despite his down stretch, Peterson continues to hit near the top of the lineup for the Braves.

Jace Peterson hit a go-ahead two-run double in a 2-1 win over the Mets on Friday.

The Braves went into the bottom of the eighth trailing 1-0 against Jacob deGrom, but put two runners on before Mets manager Terry Collins brought in left-hander Sean Gilmartin. However, Peterson followed with a fly ball over the head of Juan Lagares in center field which gave the Braves the lead. The 25-year-old finished the night 2-for-3 with a walk and owns a solid .284/.258/.387 batting line on the year.

Jace Peterson went 1-for-4 with an RBI single, extending his hitting streak to nine games in Monday's win over the Red Sox.

Peterson pushed the Braves' lead to 4-0 with his seventh-inning RBI single against Robbie Ross, Jr. The second baseman hasn't hit for much power, but has been useful otherwise, batting .284/.354/.379 with two home runs, 28 RBI, and seven stolen bases.
Mon, Jun 15, 2015 10:25:00 PM

Jace Peterson launched a three-run home run and scored three runs in a 3-for-5 effort on Sunday, but the Braves fell to the Mets.

Peterson took Dillon Gee yard in the second inning, breaking a 1-1 tie. The 25-year-old is on an eight-game hitting streak, now batting .285/.356/.382 with two home runs and 27 RBI. He's needed 12 opportunities to steal six bases, but base-stealing efficiency isn't a fantasy category, fortunately.
Sun, Jun 14, 2015 04:19:00 PM

Jace Peterson went 2-for-4 with an RBI double, a walk, and a run scored Friday against the Mets.

Peterson now has four multi-hit games in his last five. He has just one home run and has been thrown out six times in 12 steal attempts, but he's hitting .279 with a .354 on-base percentage and has found a home as the Braves' leadoff man. He's relevant in deeper mixed formats.
