Jace Peterson (neck, shoulder) struck out as a pinch-hitter in Monday night's loss to the Diamondbacks.

He was originally in the starting lineup but was scratched prior to the game after feeling tightness in his neck and shoulder. Peterson hurt himself running into the center field wall in Sunday's series finale against Washington. He should be available off the bench Tuesday night but it's unclear if he's ready to return to the starting lineup.
Aug 23 - 12:57 PM

Jace Peterson was scratched from Monday's lineup against the Diamondbacks.

Peterson is dealing with some soreness after colliding with the wall during Sunday's game. He expects to be ready to play Tuesday. Chase d’Arnaud will start in his place at second base on Monday.
Aug 22 - 6:21 PM

Jace Peterson hit a solo walk-off home run to end Sunday's 7-6, 10-inning win over the Nationals.

Peterson also had an infield single in the sixth inning. He improved on that little hit -- and then some -- by clocking the game-winning home run off Shawn Kelley with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning. For the season, the 26-year-old second baseman has hit to a .255/.348/.389 triple-slash with seven homers and 22 RBI across 247 at-bats. Despite Sunday's heroics, Peterson holds no fantasy intrigue.
Aug 21 - 6:45 PM

Jace Peterson went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Saturday's loss to the Phillies.

Peterson had two singles and a double while batting leadoff in the game. The three hits raised his season average to .270 with a .748 OPS.
Jul 31 - 12:26 AM

Jace Peterson hit his fifth homer Friday against the Rockies' Jason Motte.

Peterson lost his job early this year and was sent down for a time, but he's been one of the Braves' best players this year, amassing a .743 OPS in 171 at-bats. Of course, with just 17 RBI, 23 runs scored and one steal in his 57 games, he still hasn't been able to do much for fantasy leaguers. That doesn't seem likely to change.
Jul 23 - 12:08 AM

Jace Peterson went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and two runs scored Saturday against the Marlins.

Peterson also doubled in the game, with his three-run shot coming off all-everything ace Jose Fernandez in the sixth inning. Peterson now has a 13-game hitting streak going, a fairly surprising development after he struggled at both the major- and minor league level for the first two-plus months of the season. With his hot stretch, the 26-year-old is batting .295/.362/.426 through 42 games this year.
Jul 2 - 7:00 PM

Jace Peterson went 2-for-three with a walk in a Braves loss on Wednesday.

Peterson is now the everyday starter at second base for Atlanta but fantasy owners don't have much interest. He does not have much power, nor does he steal bases. The 26-year-old has a .282 batting average in 110 at-bats.
Jun 29 - 10:12 PM

Jace Peterson smacked a solo homer in Tuesday's loss to the Indians.

He took closer Cody Allen deep in the ninth inning to cut the lead to two, but that's as close as the Braves would get. Peterson has taken over the second base job and leadoff spot since returning from the minors earlier this month, sporting a .333 average, two homers and a stolen base over 63 at-bats.
Jun 28 - 10:08 PM

Jace Peterson played the role of hero on Tuesday, delivering a walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning to lead the Braves to a 3-2 victory over the Marlins.

Peterson set the stage two innings earlier, clubbing a two-run homer off of David Phelps to tie the game at 2-2 and force extra innings. Hitting out of the leadoff spot in the Braves lineup on Tuesday, he finished the night 2-for-5. He's now hitting .256/.348/.333 with one homer and 10 RBI on the season.
Jun 22 - 12:46 AM

Braves recalled INF Jace Peterson from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Peterson has struggled this season, regardless of level. He slashed just .182/.260/.205 in 50 major league plate appearances prior to being demoted to Triple-A at the beginning of May. With Gwinnett, he has hit an equally uncomfortable .162/.275/.258 over 110 plate appearances. He does not make for a trustworthy fantasy option.
Jun 10 - 2:22 PM

Braves optioned INF Jace Peterson to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Peterson was batting .182/.260/.205 in 50 plate appearances this season at the major league level. The former supplemental first-round draft pick has posted good numbers in the minors, but it just hasn't translated.
May 2 - 3:55 PM

Jace Peterson is not in the Braves' lineup on Friday.

Peterson hasn't started a game at second base in over a week even with Gordon Beckham (hamstring) sidelined, although he's seen some time in left field. Daniel Castro is at second base again Friday and it appears he'll be the regular there while Beckham is out.
Apr 22 - 3:12 PM

Jace Peterson went 0-for-3 with a walk while playing third base and left field for the Braves on Monday.

Peterson is expected to remain the Braves' primary second baseman to begin this year, but in the long run, he's likely best suited for a utility role. It's smart thinking for the Braves to keep him involved at other positions.
Mar 7 - 4:56 PM

According to David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Jace Peterson played through most of the 2015 season with an 80 percent tear of the tendon in his right thumb.

Peterson was forced to wear a cast on the thumb for six weeks this offseason to correct the issue. It's impressive that he was able to play through the injury and it certainly bodes well for his offensive outlook moving forward. He slashed .240/.315/.341 with six homers, 52 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 2015, and you have to imagine he'll improve on those numbers with full health heading into 2016.
