Peterson is just 5-for-49 (.102) with one extra-base hit and three RBI over the past 18 outings to drop his average from .268 to .190. To make matters worse, he committed his fifth error on an erratic throw. Injuries have created a regular role for Peterson, but so far he has yet to answer the bell.

The Braves placed Garcia on the 10-day disabled list on Monday, with the hope here being that he will only miss the minimum. Filling in will be Peterson. Johan Camargo was called up on Wednesday and could also see some work in Garcia's absence.

Peterson also had an infield single in the sixth inning. He improved on that little hit -- and then some -- by clocking the game-winning home run off Shawn Kelley with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning. For the season, the 26-year-old second baseman has hit to a .255/.348/.389 triple-slash with seven homers and 22 RBI across 247 at-bats. Despite Sunday's heroics, Peterson holds no fantasy intrigue.
