Phillies optioned OF Roman Quinn to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Quinn was always ticketed for Triple-A out of spring training, but he should be brought up for good at some point in 2017. The 23-year-old outfield prospect batted .302/.372/.451 with six home runs and 36 stolen bases in 77 games last season between rookie ball and Double-A Reading. He then made his MLB debut as a September callup. Mar 27 - 2:28 PM

Roman Quinn went 1-for-3, walked twice, scored twice and stole a base in a 7-4 win over the Braves on Saturday.

The 23-year-old speedster was lined up to start in the outfield until the Phillies brought in free agents Michael Saunders and Howie Kendrick. Quinn will likely start the season at Triple-A but is likely to see time with the big club again this year. He hit .263/.373/.333 with five steals in a 15-game stint with the Phillies in 2016. He swiped another 36 bases in just 77 minor league games.

Roman Quinn went 2-for-3 with a homer and a steal against the University of Tampa on Thursday.

Quinn seemed a lot more interesting for fantasy purposes six months ago, before the Phillies committed to Odubel Herrera going forward and brought in Michael Saunders and Howie Kendrick for the outfield corners. Quinn needs some Triple-A time anyway, so that he's been blocked for now isn't a big problem. Still, center field is now spoken for in Philly and it doesn't seem all that likely that Quinn will have the bat to be a regular in a corner.

Roman Quinn left Tuesday's game against the Braves with a strained left oblique.

Quinn was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored before departing in the sixth inning. The injury is almost certainly going to end his cup of coffee with the Phillies, given that oblique strains typically require 3-4 weeks of rest and rehab. Quinn, a highly-regarded outfield prospect, batted .263/.373/.333 with four doubles and five stolen bases over his first 15 major leagues.

Roman Quinn went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored in Tuesday's loss to the Pirates.

He also drew a walk, reaching base in three of his four trips to the plate. Quinn was the only Phillie to tally multiple hits on the night. It looks like the young outfielder is going to play regularly and also bat second down the stretch, and he's off to a nice start with four hits in 10 at-bats and a stolen base. His speed makes him worth a look in deeper formats.

Appearing in his second MLB game, Roman Quinn went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and a stolen base in Monday’s 6-2 victory over the Pirates.

It was an impressive night for the recent call-up. Quinn walked and swiped his first base in the majors in the first inning before he collected his first MLB hit with an opposite-field double to plate two runs in the second inning. He later doubled again in the sixth inning. The Phillies plan to give the speedy outfielder plenty of playing time the rest of the way, so he makes for an intriguing pickup in fantasy leagues.

Roman Quinn is starting in right field and batting second Monday versus the Pirates.

He started in center and hit second Sunday in his major league debut. Quinn has good speed and is capable of providing significant fantasy value over these final three weeks if the Phillies continue to treat him like an everyday player worthy of the No. 2 lineup spot.

Phillies recalled OF Roman Quinn from Double-A Reading.

The top prospect batted .287/.361/.441 with six homers and 31 steals for Reading this season. Quinn, 23, could be interesting in fantasy leagues if he gets playing time, but there's no guarantee of that happening. He might serve mainly as a pinch-runner down the stretch.

Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com hears that the Phillies could include prospect outfielder Roman Quinn among their September call-ups.

Quinn missed some time with an oblique injury this season, but the speedy switch-hitter owns a .297/.370/.420 batting line with three homers and 26 steals over 54 games this season with Double-A Reading. The Phillies are also expected to promote the more high-profile Nick Williams, so it will be interesting to see how the playing time shakes out with Odubel Herrera and Aaron Altherr already in the mix.

Phillies prospect Roman Quinn played five innings of center field Monday in the Gulf Coast League.

It was the first minor league rehab game for Quinn, who landed on the disabled list at Double-A Reading in mid-June with a left oblique strain. The 23-year-old top-100 prospect was batting .288/.361/.420 with three home runs and 25 stolen bases in 50 games this season at the Double-A level.

Phillies top outfield prospect Roman Quinn has been placed on the 7-day disabled list at Double-A Reading with a left oblique strain.

That injury usually requires 3-4 weeks of rest and recovery. Quinn, ranked a top-100 prospect this winter by MLB.com, owns a .288/.361/.420 batting line with 25 stolen bases in 50 games this season at Double-A. He could reach the Triple-A level by the end of 2016, but we probably won't see him in the majors until sometime in 2017.

Phillies OF prospect Roman Quinn ripped three hits Tuesday in a win for Double-A Reading.

It was Quinn's third multi-hit game in his last four contests. His average has shot up 20 points (.254 to .274) in that span. Quinn is now second in the Eastern League with 39 runs scored. He's also second in steals with 24. The 23-year-old never found his groove in April (.233) but he's hit .310 with a .405 OBP since May 1.

Phillies OF prospect Roman Quinn matched a career-high with four hits Tuesday in a win for Double-A Reading.

He also reached base on a walk while scoring four of Reading's 11 runs in a come-from-behind win over Erie. All four hits were singles. Quinn has swung a hot bat recently, hitting .393 with 12 runs scored during his seven-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old now ranks second in the Eastern League in steals (21) behind Harrisburg outfielder Rafael Bautista.

Phillies OF prospect Roman Quinn reached base four times with two hits and two walks Sunday for Double-A Reading.

He's hit .444 (8-for-18) during his four-game hitting streak. His average has climbed from .194 to .244 in that span. None of those numbers stand out but Quinn has proven to be one of the faster players in Double-A, recording nine steals on 12 attempts in his first 21 games. The 22-year-old isn't close to cracking the big leagues yet but a promotion to Triple-A Lehigh Valley at some point wouldn't be surprising.

Roman Quinn went 2-for-4 with a triple, a walk and a steal Wednesday versus the Twins.

The 23-year-old Quinn has had big problems staying healthy, but he hit an impressive .306/.356/.435 with 29 steals in his 58 games at Double-A last year. He's a candidate to see time in Philadelphia's outfield this year, if he can stay off the disabled list.
