Alex Hassan has announced his retirement from baseball.
Hassan broke the news himself on Twitter, saying that he's re-enrolled at Duke in order to finish his degree. The 28-year-old was a pretty good prospect for the Red Sox a few years ago, but he really struggled at the Triple-A level in 2016 and finishes his career with just nine plate appearances in the majors (all in 2014).
