Dodgers signed INF/OF Elian Herrera to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
It's a homecoming of sorts as Herrera played for the Dodgers from 2012 to 2013. The 30-year-old hit .242 with seven homers and 33 RBI across 83 games for Milwaukee last season. He'll try to make the team as a utility man. Sat, Dec 26, 2015 07:20:00 PM

Brewers non-tendered INF/OF Elian Herrera.

Herrera hit an uninspiring .242/.290/.395 with seven homers and 33 RBI across 256 at-bats with the Brewers in 2015. While the homer and RBI count were the highest the 30-year-old has posted in the bigs through four major league seasons, it wasn't enough to keep him on the Brewers' 40-man roster. He'll look for another home as a free agent.

Elian Herrera's leg X-rays came back negative.

That's quite a relief after Herrera left Saturday's game on a stretcher after a scary collision with outfielder Shane Peterson. Herrera has a deep thigh bruise and is still likely to miss a handful of games. Expect Hernan Perez to start at third base in Sunday's series finale.

Elian Herrera was taken off on a stretcher Saturday against the Reds after colliding with teammate Shane Peterson.

They were both going for Skip Schumaker's bloop double down the left field line. Herrera appeared to injure his right leg on the play. Hernan Perez replaced Herrera at third base. Peterson also left the game. We should get an update on Herrera's status shortly, though we wouldn't expect good news.

Elian Herrera homered in each game of a doubleheader sweep Saturday against the Reds.

Herrera went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in each half of the back-to-back at Great American Ball Park. He drove in two runs in the early game and three in the nightcap. The 30-year-old infielder has flashed a bit of power in 205 at-bats this season with Milwaukee.

Elian Herrera went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored in Thursday afternoon's loss to the Cubs.

Herrera's now hit seven doubles for the season. He was called up to the team after their trade of Carlos Gomez. The 30-year-old infielder is hitting .235/.285/.402 with five home runs and 19 RBI over 132 at-bats. Look elsewhere for fantasy glory.

Brewers purchased the contract of INF/OF Elian Herrera from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Herrera will add versatility and depth to the Brewers bench in the wake of the Carlos Gomez trade. The 30-year-old hit just .212/.259/.374 in 99 at-bats with the Brewers earlier in the season.

Brewers designated INF Elian Herrera for assignment.

The move clears a spot for the newly-claimed Hernan Perez. Herrera, 30, was batting .212 with four home runs and .633 OPS over 38 games this season and wasn't going to be a long-term piece for Milwaukee.

Elian Herrera hit his fourth home run of the season in Tuesday's loss to the White Sox.

Herrera took White Sox starter Chris Sale deep in the fifth inning for a solo shot. He's now homered in three straight games, an unexpected outburst after never hitting more than seven home runs in a single season in the minors. Even with the sudden power surge, the 30-year-old Herrera isn't much of a fantasy asset as things stand now.

Elian Herrera went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBI Tuesday, but the Brewers fell to the Reds.

The loss certainly wasn't any fault of Herrera's. The 30-year-old knocked an RBI double in the third inning before launching a grand slam in the sixth. Herrera had just one homer in 140 major league games before Tuesday. He'll fill in for Scooter Gennett in the near term, but Herrera isn't much of an offensive force to be reckoned with, Tuesday notwithstanding.

Elian Herrera went 1-for-2 and scored the Brewers lone run in Friday's Cactus League loss to a split-squad Dodgers team.

Hererra had one of just two total hits that the Brewers were able to scratch out in this one. In camp as a non-roster invitee, the versatile 30-year-old is looking to win a spot on the Brewers bench.
