Octavio Dotel (elbow) will avoid a stint on the disabled list for now, but his availability for Saturday's game is yet to be determined. Ortega will return to a 4.03 ERA in the minors.

Jose Ortega is a candidate to be demoted following the return of Austin Jackson from the disabled list.

Ortega seems like the obvious candidate to be sent down, but the Tigers may be forced to keep him on the active roster given the current status of Octavio Dotel (elbow). Dotel can be placed on the disabled list retroactive to June 2, meaning he would only miss another week if he returned when first eligible.
