Brewers purchased the contract of INF/OF Jake Elmore from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

The Brewers designated Alex Presley for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. Elmore was hitting .320 with an .808 OPS over 57 games in Triple-A this season, but he's a .215/.277/.288 hitter in the majors. He'll provide some versatility off the bench.

Jake Elmore went 2-for-5 with four RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Mariners.

Elmore came through multiple times on the evening, knocking a two-run single in the first inning and adding an RBI single in the third. Elmore also had an RBI ground out in the team's three-run ninth. The outfielder has seven hits in his last 13 at-bats and has likely earned himself some more starts with his hot hitting.

In his first at-bat of the year, Jake Elmore homered off Edward Mujica in the Rays' 7-5 win over the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Elmore, called up earlier in the day, had entered the game as a pinch-runner. The Rays already had a 6-5 lead when Elmore took Mujica deep in the seventh, but the insurance run was nice. It was Elmore's third homer in 200 major league at-bats. He'll serve as a utilityman until the Rays' infield gets healthier.
