Blue Jays optioned LHP Rob Rasmussen to Triple-A Buffalo.

The move clears a spot for newly-acquired Danny Valencia on the active roster. Rasmussen owns a 3.18 ERA over 10 appearances with the Blue Jays this season and should get another shot with the big club down the stretch.

Blue Jays recalled LHP Rob Rasmussen from Triple-A Buffalo.

Rasmussen allowed four earned runs in six innings of relief earlier this season with Toronto. The left-hander probably won't be used in many high-leverage situations.

The 25-year-old southpaw has appeared in seven games with the Jays this season, compiling a 6.00 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 7/4 K/BB ratio over six innings. He'll continue to provide organizational bullpen depth.

Blue Jays optioned LHP Rob Rasmussen to Triple-A Buffalo.

Rasmussen was unscored upon in his four appearances, but the Jays decided that they'd prefer a righty in the 'pen. Bobby Korecky is replacing Rasmussen on the roster.

Blue Jays recalled LHP Rob Rasmussen from Triple-A Buffalo.

Rasmussen, who was acquired from the Phillies in the Brad Lincoln deal, owns a 2.65 ERA and 19/10 K/BB ratio over 17 innings in Triple-A this year. While the 25-year-old has mostly been a starter in the minors, he has pitched exclusively in relief this year. The Blue Jays are hoping he'll be an upgrade for their shaky bullpen.

Blue Jays acquired LHP Robert Rasmussen and C Erik Kratz from the Phillies for RHP Brad Lincoln.

Rasmussen was acquired by the Phils from the Dodgers in the Michael Young deal. He posted a 4.11 ERA with 113 strikeouts over 135 2/3 frames between Double- and Triple-A this season. While he's probably a longshot to do anything as a starter, he has a chance to make it as a reliever.

Phillies purchased the contract of LHP Rob Rasmussen from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Philly acquired Rasmussen from the Dodgers in September in exchange for veteran infielder Michael Young. Rasmussen had a 4.11 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 113/60 K/BB ratio in 135 2/3 innings this past summer in the minors.

Phillies acquired LHP Rob Rasmussen from the Dodgers for INF Michael Young and cash.

Rasmussen has posted a 4.11 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 113/60 K/BB ratio in 135 2/3 innings (mostly as a starter) this season between Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Albuquerque. The 25-year-old lefty isn't much of a prospect.

Dodgers acquired LHP Rob Rasmussen from the Astros for RHP John Ely.

A second-round pick in 2010, Rasmussen was part of the package that sent Carlos Lee to the Marlins at last year's trade deadline. He posted a 4.25 ERA in 142 innings between two different levels of the minors this past season and his ceiling is probably that of a fifth starter.

Astros acquired LHP Rob Rasmussen and 3B Matt Dominguez from the Marlins for 1B Carlos Lee and cash considerations.

Rasmussen was a second-round pick of the Fish in the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft and has posted a decent 3.90 ERA and 75/36 K/BB ratio across 87 2/3 innings this season in High-A ball. His ceiling is probably that of a fifth starter, but it's still a nice get for the talent-hungry 'Stros.
