The Orioles released Urrutia on May 25. The 30-year-old outfielder has not appeared in a major league game since 2015. Orioles released OF Henry Urrutia.

He was hitting just .175 at Triple-A Norfolk. The 30-year-old has made 34 appearances at the big league level but none since 2015. He should be able to catch on somewhere else as minor league depth.

Henry Urrutia was released earlier this week from Leones del Caracas in the Venezuelan Winter League.

Urrutia batted .264 with three doubles and seven RBI in 15 games with Caracas -- not terrible results. Often there are other things at play behind the decisions made by these winter league clubs. Urrutia, a native of Cuba, is traveling back to the United States to begin a period of offseason rest and rehab. He figures to open the 2017 campaign at Double-A Bowie or Triple-A Norfolk.

Orioles sent OF Henry Urrutia outright to Double-A Bowie.

Urrutia was designated for assignment by the Orioles on July 19 and passed through waivers unclaimed. He is batting .280/.339/.372 this year in the minors.

Orioles designated OF Henry Urrutia for assignment.

Urrutia arrived in the majors to a good deal of hype back in 2013, but it's been mostly downhill since then due to injuries and poor offensive output. The 29-year-old from Cuba was batting just .245/.347/.304 in 118 plate appearances this season at Triple-A Norfolk.

Orioles optioned OF Henry Urrutia to Triple-A Norfolk.

Urrutia appeared in 10 games with the Orioles last season and batted .291 with 10 home runs and a .753 OPS over 115 games in Triple-A. The 29-year-old will function as outfield depth in the minors.

Henry Urrutia went 0-for-3 on Friday and is 3-for-18 this spring.

Urrutia's chances of winning a roster spot probably disappeared with the Pedro Alvarez signing. One wonders if he could be bumped from the 40-man at some point. It didn't seem like a good sign when the Orioles sent him down last Aug. 28 and didn't bring him back in September. A complete lack of defensive value and middling power is a bad combination.

Orioles optioned OF Henry Urrutia to Triple-A Norfolk.

Urrutia batted .265/.306/.382 with one homer over 10 games for the O's. He'll be back when rosters expand.

Henry Urrutia went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in Saturday's loss to the Twins.

Urrutia hit an RBI double off Twins starter Kyle Gibson in the second inning for his one RBI knock of the game. He later picked up a single as well. Since being called up by the Orioles on August 15, he's accumulated multi-hit games in three of his first seven contests. He hit .292/.344/.414 with 10 homers and 50 RBI over 474 plate appearances with Triple-A Norfolk prior to the promotion. Owners in deeper AL-only leagues might want to take note and ride this hot little start.

Henry Urrutia slugged a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to down the Mets on Wednesday.

The two clubs entered the bottom of the ninth inning knotted at 4-4. Urrutia didn't waste any time ending the game, leading off the frame with a walk-off home run against Carlos Torres. The outfielder, who was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, used the walk-off to claim his first major league home run. Urrutia hit decently in the minors, posting a .292/.344/.414 batting line with 10 home runs and 50 RBI in 474 plate appearances, and could be worth a shot for those in AL-only leagues.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said he plans to use Henry Urrutia in the outfield.

Urrutia worked hard to improve his defense while playing in Triple-A. Saturday will mark the 28-year-old's first start in the majors since September 10, 2013 against the Yankees. He'll DH and bat ninth against the Athletics.

Orioles recalled DH Henry Urrutia from Triple-A Norfolk.

Urrutia will jump immediately into the O's lineup as the designated hitter on Saturday, batting eighth. He was hitting .292/.344/.414 with 10 homers and 60 RBI at Triple-A.

Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports that the Orioles are expected to recall Henry Urrutia from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

Urrutia is having a terrific season at Triple-A, slashing .292/.344/.414 with 10 homers and 50 RBI in 107 games. Depending on how often he finds himself in the lineup, he's worth a gamble in AL-only formats.

Orioles optioned OF Henry Urrutia to Triple-A Norfolk.

The 28-year-old hit well in spring play, slashing .320/.379/.520 with a homer and seven RBI in 25 at-bats. If it wasn't for the strong depth that the O's have in the outfield at the big league level, he may have broken camp with the team. He should get an opportunity at some point during the 2015 season.

Henry Urrutia went 3-for-4 with a two-run double Friday against the Blue Jays.

Urrutia was a non-factor last year after struggling in 51 games for Triple-A Norfolk and going down with a hernia, but the Orioles haven't given up on his bat yet. The 28-year-old Cuban defector is 6-for-15 with a couple of walks and just one strikeout this spring. He could figure into the mix at DH if he keeps it up/
