Per Blue Jays trainer George Poulis, Aaron Loup (elbow) is expected to throw a bullpen session on Monday.
Poulis said that Loup is doing "great" in his rehab. A flexor strain in the southpaw's pitching elbow sidelined him through the entirety of spring training and has likewise kept him off the mound during the first month of the 2016 campaign. While a return in May is possible, the Blue Jays are taking it slow and steady with Loup. Apr 27 - 5:38 PM

Aaron Loup (elbow) played catch at a distance of 90 feet Sunday without issue.

Baby steps for the injured left-hander. "It’s just a matter of building him back up," head trainer George Poulis said Sunday. "No timeline on him either but hopefully he progresses normally without any setbacks."

Aaron Loup (elbow) is currently playing catch on flat ground.

However, he's not close to a return so it's unclear when he'll be ready for mound work. Loup is nursing a flexor strain in his pitching elbow.

Blue Jays placed LHP Aaron Loup on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 25, with a sore left elbow.

Loup didn't make an appearance this spring due to a flexor strain in his left elbow. He felt more pain after attempting to throw recently, so he received a cortisone shot and it's unclear when he'll get back on the mound. The Blue Jays will be without him for the early part of the season at the very least.
Apr 3 - 6:55 PM

Aaron Loup recently had another setback with his ailing left elbow.

Loup was shut down for two weeks with a flexor strain and then felt pain in another spot in his elbow when he tried to resume throwing. The good news is that he feels fine now after receiving a cortisone shot and will resume a throwing program again on Saturday. Doctors have told the lefty that he likely has an impingement in the elbow. Loup will obviously begin the season on the disabled list.
Apr 1 - 10:11 AM

An MRI on Aaron Loup's left elbow has revealed a flexor strain.

He'll be shut down for two weeks before being re-evaluated. Loup is still holding out hope of being ready for Opening Day, but Blue Jays manager John Gibbons admitted that it would be "real tough." The southpaw will be missed, as he boasts a career 3.11 ERA and has held left-handed hitters to a .206/.272/.283 batting line.
Mar 4 - 9:20 AM

Aaron Loup (forearm) resumed throwing on Thursday but "didn't feel real good," according to manager John Gibbons.

Well, that's not good. Loup has struggled with forearm tightness throughout spring training and it sounds like he may have made things worse on Thursday. The Blue Jays are obviously going to shut Loup down for a while. He could be headed for an MRI.
Mar 3 - 4:53 PM

Aaron Loup (forearm) is expected to resume throwing in a couple of days.

Loup has been dealing with tightness in his forearm, so the Blue Jays are playing things safe with him. More should be known about his status after he resumes throwing.
Mar 1 - 10:16 AM

Blue Jays and LHP Aaron Loup avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.05 million contract.

It was the reliever's first year of arbitration eligibility. Loup posted a 4.46 ERA across 60 appearances for the Jays in 2015.

Aaron Loup (personal) is expected to be available for Game 6 of the ALCS against the Royals on Friday.

Loup missed Game 4 due to a personal matter and was unavailable to pitch in Game 5 on Wednesday. The 27-year-old southpaw is expected to be ready and available for Game 6, though, as the Blue Jays look to extend the ALCS to a seventh game.

Aaron Loup was unavailable to pitch in ALCS Game 4 on Tuesday because he had a travel home to deal with a personal issue.

Loup also missed Game 5 of the ALDS due to a personal issue. The left-hander is not expected to be available for Game 5 on Wednesday afternoon, either. Loup's absence likely led to infielder Cliff Pennington having to pitch in the blowout loss.

Aaron Loup has rejoined the Blue Jays and will be available out of the bullpen Friday for Game 1 of the ALCS.

Loup was away during Game 5 of the ALDS due to a personal matter. He tossed one scoreless inning in the ALDS.

The Blue Jays are expecting to have Aaron Loup available for the American League Championship Series.

Loup had been away from the team to deal with a personal issue during Game 5 of the ALDS, but the matter apparently won't keep Loup away much longer. That's good news for the Jays, who are already without lefty Brett Cecil for the ALCS. Loup threw a scoreless inning over two appearances in the ALDS before leaving the team.

Aaron Loup will not be available to pitch for the Blue Jays in Wednesday's Game 5 of the ALDS against the Rangers.

Loup's not currently with the team, as he's dealing with a personal issue. Manager John Gibbons has also indicated that David Price likely won't be available given his workload.

Blue Jays recalled LHP Aaron Loup from Triple-A Buffalo.

Loup's peripherals are very impressive this season, with 40 strikeouts and just six walks over 36 1/3 innings, but he has struggled to the tune of a 5.20 ERA in 48 appearances. He'll hope for better results in his return to the big club.
