Alfredo Marte blasted a pinch-hit grand slam on Friday, but it wasn’t enough for the Diamondbacks to overcome the Phillies.
Marte was called upon to hit for Gerardo Parra with the bases full in the sixth inning, and delivered in a huge way, smacking an Antonio Bastardo offering over the wall in left field to pull the D’Backs to within 6-4. He became the first hitter in team history to hit a grand slam as his first career home run. Jul 25 - 10:38 PM

Diamondbacks recalled OF Alfredo Marte from Triple-A Reno.

Marte is taking the 25-man roster spot left vacant by Cody Ross, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a calf strain. Marte has hit just .227 with a .591 OPS this season at the major league level.

Diamondbacks optioned OF Alfredo Marte to Triple-A Reno.

Marte hit just .227/.227/.364 while playing sparingly during his few weeks with the big club. He's being replaced on the roster by Nick Evans.
May 28 - 3:23 PM

Alfredo Marte went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI versus the Padres on Saturday.

The Diamondbacks will happily try to catch lightning in a bottle should it present itself, so it'd be worth giving Marte another start over Cody Ross on Sunday. Marte isn't likely to establish himself as a regular in Arizona's outfield, but given the alternatives with Mark Trumbo out, it's possible he'll have some NL-only value.

Diamondbacks recalled OF Alfredo Marte from Triple-A Reno.

Marte will provide additional depth in the outfield for the Diamondbacks. The 25-year-old outfielder was off to a strong start at Reno, hitting .342/.409/.468 with one homer and 11 RBI in his first 26 games. It's unlikely he sees enough playing time to become fantasy relevant.
May 2 - 7:21 PM

Diamondbacks optioned OF Alfredo Marte to Triple-A Reno.

The 24-year-old outfielder had been tearing the cover off the ball this spring, going 5-for-11 with a homer and three RBI, but apparently wasn't going to make the team regardless of his performance in the Cactus League. He should see time with the Snakes at some point during the 2014 season.
Mar 9 - 5:03 PM

Alfredo Marte went 2-for-3 with an RBI on Saturday, leading the Diamondbacks to a 5-2 victory over the Angels in Cactus League action.

The 24-year-old outfielder has impressed in the early going this spring, hitting .455 (5-for-11) with a homer and three RBI. He cracked the D'Backs Opening Day roster as a reserve outfielder with a strong showing last spring, and could be on his way to doing so again.
Mar 8 - 10:41 PM

Diamondbacks optioned OF Alfredo Marte to Triple-A Reno.

Marte made the Diamondbacks' Opening Day roster as a fourth outfielder, but batted just .186/.271/.256 during his 22 game stint in the majors. Didi Gregarious has been reinstated from the 7-day DL in a corresponding move.

Alfredo Marte will be the Diamondbacks' fourth outfielder.

Marte was optioned to Triple-A Reno earlier this month, but the Diamondbacks need to cover for the injured Cody Ross. Marte is highly unlikely to hold fantasy value.

Diamondbacks optioned RHPs Chase Anderson and Charles Brewer, LHP Eury de la Rosa, OF Alfredo Marte to Triple-A Reno; OF Keon Broxton, RHPs Eric Smith and Zeke Spruill to Double-A Mobile.

No surprises in this bunch. Marte had a breakout year at Mobile this season, batting .294/.363/.523 with 20 home runs.

The 23-year-old will now be protected from the Rule 5 draft. Marte had a breakout year at Mobile this season, batting .294/.363/.523 with 20 home runs. He's not major league-ready, though.
