Rob Brantly drove home his 11th run of the season in Friday’s loss to the Diamondbacks.
Brantly’s RBI single in the seventh inning was his only hit in four at-bats on the night. He’s been a bit of a disappointment offensively thus far, hitting .247/.321/.323 with no homers, 11 RBI and only four runs scored on the season. Fantasy owners in two-catcher formats who counted on more production from the Marlins backstop have likely had to search for other options. May 17 - 9:56 PM

Rob Brantly (finger) went 1-for-3 with a single Monday in his return to the lineup.

Brantly sat out Sunday's game due to recurring discomfort with his right index finger, but the injury didn't require an extended absence. The 23-year-old backstop is hitting just .222/.297/.309 through 23 games this season.

Rob Brantly (finger) is not in the Marlins' lineup Sunday.

Brantly suffered a cut on the index finger of his throwing hand last week, and although he returned to action for a few games, the finger is still giving him trouble. Miguel Olivo is catching on Sunday.

Rob Brantly was hitless in four at-bats in his return to the lineup Thursday.

Brantly missed Wednesday's game due to a cut on the index finger of his throwing hand, but he's fine. The young backstop is hitting just .227/.298/.320 with no home runs this season.
May 3 - 12:30 PM

Rob Brantly did not play Wednesday due to a cut on the index finger of his throwing hand.

It's not considered to be a big deal. Brantly could be back in there on Thursday.

Rob Brantly went 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI in the Marlins' win over the Twins on Tuesday.

Brantly and Miguel Olivo have been sharing time at catcher for the Marlins this year, but Brantly made a strong case for more playing time on Tuesday. Brantly doubled twice off Twins starter Mike Pelfrey and now has six doubles on the season. The 23-year-old is the closest thing the Marlins have to a "catcher of the future" at this point.
Apr 24 - 12:27 AM

Rob Brantly went 3-for-4 with three RBI against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Brantly, a product of the Anibal Sanchez trade with the Tigers last summer, will be the Marlins' starting catcher this year. He impressed offensively in his audition last season, hitting .290/.372/.460 in 100 at-bats, but we're not expecting him to have much fantasy value. Even if he hits for average, the power numbers won't be very good.
Mar 17 - 4:37 PM

Rob Brantly had a go-ahead RBI double in a 3-2 win over the Mets on Monday.

Brantly punched one just inside the left field line in the bottom of the eighth inning to put the Marlins ahead. It was his only hit of the night. The 23-year-old backstop is hitting .295/.380/.442 with two homers, eight doubles, seven RBI and an .822 OPS through his first 30 games in the big leagues. He also has an impressive 13/15 K/BB ratio. He's likely to get the bulk of the playing time behind the plate next year, regardless of whether the Marlins are able to find a taker for John Buck.

Rob Brantly went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Monday's loss to the Braves.

It's the first three-hit game of the youngster's career. Brantly now has an eight-game hitting streak going and is batting a cool .343 with two homers over his first 79 big league plate appearances. You could do worse than him as your second catcher in mixed leagues.

Rob Brantly went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored versus the Brewers on Monday.

Brantly is hitting .263 in 38 at-bats since being called up to share time with John Buck. The Marlins will keep evaluating him before deciding whether to pursue a veteran catcher this winter. Brantly is just 23, so the Marlins may want him to play regularly in Triple-A next year.

Rob Brantly went hitless in three at-bats in his major league debut on Tuesday as the Marlins were shut out by Kyle Kendrick and the Phillies.

Brantly was swinging an impressive .365/.389/.558 in 14 games for the Marlins' Triple-A affiliate since coming over in the trade that sent Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante to the Tigers. The 23-year-old has strong offensive upside and is worthy of a look in two-catcher fantasy formats should he receive regular playing time with the Fish.

Rob Brantly is getting his first major league start on Tuesday night against the Phillies.

The 23-year-old prospect was promoted on Sunday evening and is now ready for action after spending a day adjusting to big league life. Brantly had a .365/.389/.558 batting line in 14 games for the Marlins' Triple-A affiliate and deserves consideration in NL-only fantasy leagues.

Marlins purchased the contract of C Rob Brantly from Triple-A New Orleans.

Brantly was the second-most highly thought of prospect the Fish nabbed in the Anibal Sanchez/Omar Infante deal from the Tigers. An offense-first backstop, he's put up a .298/.340/.412 batting line between Double- and Triple-A this season. Brantly has crushed since joining New Orleans, posted a .947 OPS in 54 plate appearances. He should be owned in two-catcher NL-only leagues. The 23-year-old is a former third-round pick.

Marlins acquired C Rob Brantly from the Tigers.

Brantly is the second-most highly thought of prospect the Fish nabbed in the Anibal Sanchez/Omar Infante deal. An offense-first backstop, he's put up an underwhelming .287/.332/.387 batting line with three homers between Double- and Triple-A this season. The 23-year-old is a former third-round pick.
