The 28-year-old was claimed off waivers from the Red Sox in September. De La Torre had a 6.35 ERA over 11 1/3 innings with the Sox in 2013 but he posted a 2.75 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 52 1/3 minor league innings.

De La Torre, 26, owns a solid 2.86 ERA over parts of six seasons in the minors, including a 2.91 ERA and 58/21 K/BB ratio over 55 2/3 innings this season between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus. He's a little old to be considered a prospect, but may eventually make it as a reliever.
