Since they have Chris Capuano on the way back, the Dodgers may prefer to send the 23-year-old down and call up a fresh arm for the pen.

He's now on the 40-man roster. Magill put up a 3.75 ERA while striking out 168 over 146 1/3 frames at Double-A this season. The 23-year-old isn't ready for the majors yet, but the Dodgers didn't want to risk losing him in the Rule 5 Draft.
