Twins purchased the contract of RHP Matt Magill from Triple-A Rochester.
The 28-year-old hurler has appeared in five games at Triple-A, firing 8 2/3 scoreless innings. He'll function in middle relief for the Twins, though he could conceivably work his way into a setup role if he performs well. Apr 28 - 11:34 AM

Magill spent the 2017 season in the Padres' minor league system, posting a 3.95 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and 78/42 K/BB ratio in 95 2/3 innings at Triple-A El Paso. The 28-year-old right-hander has made only 11 career appearances at the major league level and only five of those have come since 2013.

Padres signed RHP Matt Magill to a minor league contract.

Magill made five appearances with the Reds last season and posted a 4.46 ERA and 43/21 K/BB ratio over 42 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level. The 27-year-old will provide some bullpen depth for the organization.

Reds sent RHP Matt Magill outright to Triple-A Louisville.

Magill owns a 6.47 ERA in 32 career major league innings, spread between parts of 2013 and 2016, and he is now off the Reds' 40-man roster. The right-hander will turn 27 years old in November.

Reds purchased the contract of RHP Matt Magill from Triple-A Louisville.

Magill hasn't appeared in the major leagues since 2013 and wasn't particularly effective this year at Double-A and Triple-A. He'll likely serve as a mop-up man.

Reds re-signed RHP Matt Magill to a minor league contract.

Magill had Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery in May. He'll rehab as a member of the Reds' organization.

Reds released RHP Matt Magill.

The move clears space on the 40-man roster for Nate Adcock. Magill had Tommy John surgery last month and is free to sign elsewhere while he rehabs, although usually in these instances the pitcher winds up re-signing with the club that released him.

Matt Magill underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow Friday.

John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Magill's ulnar collateral ligament tear was "significant." The 25-year-old will now be out for at least the next calendar year. He posted a 7.90 ERA over three starts for Triple-A Louisville this season.

Reds optioned RHP Matt Magill to Triple-A Louisville.

Magill didn't get much of an opportunity in camp, tossing two scoreless frames. He could be a weapon in relief if he can keep the walks down.

Reds acquired RHP Matt Magill from the Dodgers in exchange for OF Chris Heisey.

Magill hasn't had trouble piling up strikeouts in the minors, but his control has gotten worse and worse. Still, he can hit the mid-90s as a reliever so the Reds thought it was worth a shot to see if they can help him iron out his control issues.

Dodgers optioned RHP Matt Magill to Triple-A Albuquerque; reassigned C JC Boscan, RHP Carlos Frias, INF Brendan Harris and 1B Clint Robinson to minor league camp.

No surprises here. Magill made six starts for the Dodgers last year, posting a 6.51 ERA, but he struck out a batter per inning and boasts big strikeout numbers in the minors. He could get a shot at some point this season if the big club needs a rotation reinforcement.

Matthew Magill has been placed on Triple-A Albuquerque's disabled list with called tightness in his right forearm.

Magill might have gotten another spot start Sunday if he was healthy. Instead, the Dodgers are going with Chris Capuano on short rest. It's not clear how long Magill will be sidelined.

Matthew Magill and Matt Palmer are under consideration to start on Sunday against the Padres.

The Dodgers need a spot starter after Wednesday's doubleheader. Magill was pulled from Wednesday's start at Triple-A Albuquerque after two innings and is on the 40-man roster, so he's likely the favorite to get the ball. Palmer is also an option, though, despite not being on the 40-man roster. Neither should be considered for fantasy purposes.

Dodgers optioned RHP Matt Magill to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Magill gets the boot after he gave up three runs on four hits and six walks over just 3 2/3 innings Sunday against the Braves. The Dodgers have called up Justin Sellers to replace him on the active roster.

Matt Magill lasted just 3 2/3 innings in Sunday's loss to the Braves.

He gave up three runs on four hits and had six walks before exiting. Magill holds a 6.51 ERA and 1.99 WHIP in six starts at the major league level. The Dodgers will likely demote him to Triple-A Albuquerque following the performance.
