White Sox optioned INF Carlos Sanchez to Triple-A Charlotte.

The move clears a spot for Erik Johnson to start the nightcap of Monday's doubleheader versus the Indians. Sanchez is 4-for-26 (.154) in 11 games with the White Sox this season and should be back at some point this summer.

White Sox recalled INF Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte.

Sanchez is a .229/.268/.321 career hitter in 524 major league plate appearances. He's not fantasy-relevant.

White Sox optioned INF Carlos Sanchez to Triple-A Charlotte.

Sanchez impressed this spring by batting .333 (18-for-54) two home runs, six doubles, one triple, and two steals over 23 games, but it wasn't enough to crack Chicago's Opening Day roster. The 23-year-old will try to keep it going at Triple-A.

Carlos Sanchez finished 3-for-3 with a home run as the White Sox took the first half of a doubleheader Monday against the Tigers.

Sanchez doubled and scored in the third inning, slugged a solo shot off Tigers starter Kyle Ryan in the sixth inning, and then added an infield single in the eighth. Sanchez is still batting just .237/.277/.349 in 109 total games this season. The homer run was his fifth.

Carlos Sanchez hit his fourth homer, a two-run shot off Cody Martin, and walked Wednesday as the White Sox topped the A's 9-4.

Sanchez has faded again after his strong July, but he's still doing better now than he did in his first two months after taking over for Micah Johnson at second base. It's still pretty crazy that the White Sox had him and his .267 OBP batting second tonight, but it worked out OK.

Carlos Sanchez doubled twice and knocked in four runs as the White Sox topped the Mariners 11-4 on Friday.

One RBI came on the first of back-to-back bases-loaded walks in the eighth. Sanchez has 14 doubles and three homers in 155 at-bats since the beginning of July. He had a total of five doubles and no homers in 127 prior at-bats this season. His 58/10 K/BB ratio still leaves a great deal to be desired, but his defense can carry his bat if he continues to show even occasional pop.

Carlos Sanchez went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, helping the White Sox eke out a win against the Indians on Sunday.

Sanchez hit his first home run of the season on Saturday and kept it going on Sunday, taking Danny Salazar yard in the third inning to put the White Sox up 1-0. He's now on a nine-game hitting streak, a welcome sight for the Pale Hose, who have watched the 23-year-old struggle for most of the season. Sanchez is batting .221/.257/.307 with two home runs and 13 RBI.

Carlos Sanchez unloaded the bases in the 10th inning, helping the White Sox fend off the Tigers in 10 innings on Thursday.

Sanchez finished 2-for-5 on the afternoon, saving his best hit for last. In a 5-5 game in the 10th inning, the White Sox loaded the bases on a walk, a hit batsman, and an infield single with two outs against Joba Chamberlain to bring up Sanchez. The second baseman delivered, tripling to right field to bring in three runs, each proving important as the Tigers would score twice in the bottom half before coming up just short. The 22-year-old has otherwise not done well at the plate, batting .169/.214/.229 with nine RBI in 128 plate appearances.

Carlos Sanchez went 0-for-4 on Thursday and is hitting just .167 through 66 at-bats.

That's .167 with a 16/1 K/BB ratio and just three extra-base hits. Sanchez is probably the White Sox's best defensive option at second base, but he never figures to be very good offensively. The team would probably be better off going to Gordon Beckham.

Carlos Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning as the White Sox defeated the Indians 2-1 on Monday.

The White Sox had runners on first and second with two outs when Sanchez stepped to the plate against Zach McAllister in the 10th inning. He slapped a line drive down the left field line to send the White Sox home happy. The 22-year-old has hit safely in four of five games since his promotion but he's yet to draw a walk and four of his five hits are singles.

White Sox recalled INF Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte.

Sanchez will take over as the regular second baseman with Micah Johnson now in the minors. The 22-year-old made Chicago's Opening Day roster but has spent the bulk of the season at Charlotte, batting .344/.368/.466 with two home runs, 17 RBI, and five stolen bases in 29 games. He should have some single-league value.

Carlos Sanchez is expected to join the White Sox on Friday in Oakland.

Micah Johnson was optioned to the minors on Thursday, clearing the way for Sanchez to take over as Chicago's primary second baseman. Sanchez, 22, is batting .344/.368/.466 with two home runs, 17 RBI, and five stolen bases in 29 games this season at the Triple-A level and could carry value in AL-only leagues. Emilio Bonifacio should continue to get some playing time at second, which muddies the situation a bit from a fantasy perspective.

White Sox prospect Carlos Sanchez has gone 9-for-9 over his last two games for Triple-A Charlotte.

Saturday's outing included two homers and seven RBI. Sanchez has hit safely in 17 of 19 games this season and reached base in all but one. Sanchez still swings and misses too much (20 Ks in 86 at-bats this year), but other than that, it's hard to find fault with anything he's done this season. If Sanchez keeps this up, it's going to be hard for the White Sox to keep him in Triple-A.
Sun, May 3, 2015 04:21:00 PM

Carlos Sanchez has been unstoppable since his demotion, hitting .485 in seven games for Triple-A Charlotte.

He leads all Triple-A players in hitting. The White Sox have a tough infield to crack with Jose Abreu at first, Micah Johnson at second, Alexei Ramirez at short and Conor Gillaspie at third base. Until a spot opens up, Sanchez is better off in the minors where he can see regular at-bats.
