Yolmer Sanchez went 3-for-4 and drove in the go-ahead run on Tuesday as the White Sox battled back to beat the Orioles 3-2.
The White Sox had been shut out through the first seven innings, primarily by Kevin Gausman. Their bats certainly woke up in the eighth though, with Sanchez's run-scoring single putting them ahead to stay. With the three-hit attack, Sanchez is now hitting .288/.322/.423 with two homers, 21 RBI and three stolen bases on the year. He's a worthwhile middle infield option in AL-only leagues and may deserve consideration in deeper mixed leagues as well. May 22 - 11:38 PM

White Sox manager Rick Renteria said he's open to trying Yolmer Sanchez in the outfield.

The White Sox haven't gotten much production out of their outfield this year and have struggled to replace Avisail Garcia (hamstring) in right field. Sanchez has only played two innings in right field for his career but should be able to make the transition. He's been a bright spot for the Pale Hose this year, batting .294 with two homers, four triples and eight doubles over 143 at-bats.

Yolmer Sanchez is absent from the White Sox' starting lineup for Saturday afternoon's showdown against the Cubs.

With the White Sox playing in a National League park and no benefit of the designated hitter, Matt Davidson will get a rare start at third base, sending Sanchez to the bench. The 25-year-old is off to a terrific start this season, hitting .300/.336/.446 with a homer, 18 RBI and three stolen bases in his first 34 games.
May 12 - 10:13 AM

Yolmer Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored in Saturday's loss to the Twins.

Sanchez is up to seven two-baggers on the year, now. For the campaign as a whole, he's slashing a respectable .295/.336/.438 with one homer, 17 RBI and three steals across 112 at-bats. Hits have been falling in bunches for Sanchez of late, as he's collected eight knocks in his last four games.
May 5 - 10:52 PM

Yolmer Sanchez went 2-for-5 and drove in three runs in a win over the Royals on Saturday.

He came to the plate with the bases loaded in the fourth inning and delivered a bases-clearing double to break the game open. He was thrown out attempting to stretch it into a triple and came up lame after an awkward slide. He stayed in the game though and appears to be OK. The third baseman has a .287 batting average with one homer and 14 RBI on the season.
Apr 28 - 6:44 PM

Yolmer Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a stolen base Wednesday in Chicago’s loss to the Mariners.

Sanchez began his day with a ground-rule double in the first inning and later scored on an RBI single by Tim Anderson. He led off the third with a base hit and scored another run on a groundout by Daniel Palka. Sanchez went hitless the rest of the day but it was still a strong afternoon for the 25-year-old, who now sports a booming .301 average through 73 at-bats this season.
Apr 25 - 6:19 PM

Yolmer Sanchez hit two triples in an extra-innings loss to the Tigers on Thursday.

Sanchez also had a single, and he drove in three. It makes back-to-back multi-hit games for the 25-year-old third baseman, who has gotten off to a strong start in the surprisingly effective White Sox offense. It'd be foolish to take it too seriously, and you'll want to see this carry on for a bit longer before seriously considering adding Sanchez to your roster.
Apr 5 - 9:48 PM

Yolmer Sanchez chipped in with three hits Wednesday in the White Sox’s Cactus League win over the Reds.

Sanchez drove in three of the White Sox’s 14 runs in a high-scoring affair at Camelback Ranch. He went yard off Homer Bailey in the second inning and added to his haul with an RBI single in the fourth. Sanchez had been having a relatively quiet spring before Wednesday’s outburst, which bumped his Cactus League average from .176 to .286. The 25-year-old is hoping to beat out Matt Davidson for the starting job at third base.
Mar 7 - 7:05 PM

Yolmer Sanchez won his arbitration case against the White Sox and will receive a $2.35 million salary for the 2018 season.

Chicago's front office filed at $2.1 million when arbitration figures were exchanged last month. This was the first time through the arbitration process for Sanchez, who slashed .267/.319/.413 with 12 home runs and eight stolen bases in 141 games last season while earning $546,000. He is a Super Two qualifier, so he'll have three more years of arbitration eligibility.
Feb 7 - 3:21 PM

Yolmer Sanchez requested $2.35 million and was offered $2.1 million by the White Sox when arbitration figures were exchanged on Friday.

It is the first time that Sanchez is arbitration-eligible, due to his status as a super-two player. He is expected to open the 2018 season as the club's starting third baseman.
Jan 13 - 11:54 AM

Yolmer Sanchez swatted his 12th home run of the season as the White Sox were blown out by the Indians on Friday night in Cleveland.
