Yomer Sanchez went 1-for-3 with a go-ahead two-run home run in Sunday's win over the Rangers.
Sanchez got to play hero in this one, smashing a two-run home run off Jose Leclerc with two outs in the eighth inning to flip what had been a 5-4 advantage for the Rangers to a 6-5 lead for the White Sox. They would go on to win by that final score. In 69 games this season, the 25-year-old second baseman is hitting .275/.337/.410 with four homers and 23 RBI. Jul 2 - 6:20 PM

Yolmer Sanchez singled and swatted a solo homer Tuesday in Tampa.

We should really say "homer." Sanchez led off the game with a shot to center field that umpires ruled hit one of the catwalks for a home run. The Rays challenged and replays appeared to show it shouldn't have been a homer, but it was not overturned. Hey, it's only Sanchez's 12 career longball in 848 career plate appearances, so he'll take it.
Jun 6 - 10:58 PM

Yolmer Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI as his club lost the second game of a doubleheader against the Tigers on Saturday.

His triple in the ninth inning against Tigers closer Justin Wilson brought the White Sox within a run but they couldn't complete the comeback. Sanchez has hit his way into everyday playing time of late. He is batting .306/.346/.430 with two home runs and 15 RBi in 121 at-bats. The 24-year-old makes for a nice speculative add in deep fantasy leagues.
May 27 - 10:12 PM

Yolmer Sanchez finished 2-for-5 with a walk and two runs scored in Saturday's game in Seattle.

Sanchez has hit safely in each of his past 11 outings, going 18-for-45 (.422) with five RBI to raise his average from .255 to .333 just since May 5. He is setting the table at the top of manager Rick Renteria's lineup, and he is a solid fantasy option in most AL-only formats.
May 21 - 2:52 AM

Yolmer Sanchez went 2-for-5 and hit his second homer Tuesday against the Angels.

Tyler Saladino has done nothing with regular playing time, so the White Sox might as well give the former Carlos Sanchez a shot at second base. We're skeptical he'll do any better going forward, but he's at .329 with eight extra-base hits through 79 at-bats.
May 17 - 2:18 AM

Yolmer Sanchez went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI as the White Sox rallied late to defeat the Padres on Sunday.

Sanchez delivered a run-scoring single to cap off the damage in an eight-run eighth inning. He has done a tremendous job in his limited action this season, slashing .324/.347/.465 with a homer and eight RBI.
May 14 - 5:55 PM

Yolmer Sanchez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored Tuesday in Kansas City.

Sanchez had the only extra-base hit for either team Tuesday, clubbing a double in the third inning. He also had a couple singles, including one that plated the final run of the contest. Sanchez will continue to see spot duty at second base.
May 2 - 11:39 PM

Yolmer Sanchez finished 3-for-4 with a three-run homer but the White Sox fell to the Yankees on Monday.

Sanchez singled twice and drove Yankees starter Jordan Montgomery from the game with his three-run blast in the top of the seventh inning, but the Yankees jumped all over Derek Holland. The infielder formerly known as Carlos Sanchez is batting .350 with a .950 OPS through 20 plate appearances in 2017, but we wouldn't expect it to last.
Apr 17 - 10:04 PM

Carlos Sanchez now wants to be known as Yolmer Sanchez.

Yolmer is actually his given first name, so it's an easy switch. "Yes, that’s what I want to do — the first Yolmer in baseball," said Sanchez. "Same guy, but different name." Sanchez, 24, is a .224/.261/.330 hitter over 201 major league games and he spent a large chunk of last season at the Triple-A level. He's going to have to impress this spring to win a spot on the Opening Day roster.
Feb 16 - 9:08 PM

Carlos Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Rays.

Sanchez rocked a two-run homer off Chris Archer in the seventh inning to draw the White Sox to within 5-3, but neither team would score again in the contest. For his part, the 24-year-old Sanchez is working to a .217/.247/.378 triple-slash over 143 at-bats. He has swatted four homers and driven in 21 runs in that space.

Carlos Sanchez slugged a go-ahead three-run homer in Friday’s 7-4 victory over the Royals.

The Royals were down 4-2 going into the top of the eighth inning, but they staged a big rally against the unusually-untouchable Kelvin Herrera. After Alex Avila brought the White Sox within one run with an RBI single, Sanchez put them ahead for good with a blast in the right-field corner. The 24-year-old had a walk-off RBI single on Thursday against the Indians, so he has now played hero in back-to-back days.

White Sox recalled INF Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte.

Sanchez will give the White Sox much-needed infield depth with Brett Lawrie (hamstring) landing on the disabled list. He should see some starts at second base, but there's not much fantasy intrigue here.

White Sox recalled INF Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte.

He'll serve as the 26th man with the Tigers having to complete a suspended game Sunday in addition to their regularly scheduled contest. Sanchez is hitting just .161 across 31 at-bats for the White Sox this year.

White Sox optioned INF Carlos Sanchez to Triple-A Charlotte.

The White Sox needed to clear a roster spot for Sunday's starting pitcher, Jacob Turner. Sanchez only saw five at-bats during his two-week stint with the big club. Overall, he's hitting just .161 across 31 at-bats for the White Sox this year.
