White Sox prospect Carlos Sanchez has gone 9-for-9 over his last two games for Triple-A Charlotte.
Saturday's outing included two homers and seven RBI. Sanchez has hit safely in 17 of 19 games this season and reached base in all but one. Sanchez still swings and misses too much (20 Ks in 86 at-bats this year), but other than that, it's hard to find fault with anything he's done this season. If Sanchez keeps this up, it's going to be hard for the White Sox to keep him in Triple-A. May 3 - 4:21 PM

Carlos Sanchez has been unstoppable since his demotion, hitting .485 in seven games for Triple-A Charlotte.

He leads all Triple-A players in hitting. The White Sox have a tough infield to crack with Jose Abreu at first, Micah Johnson at second, Alexei Ramirez at short and Conor Gillaspie at third base. Until a spot opens up, Sanchez is better off in the minors where he can see regular at-bats.

White Sox optioned 2B Carlos Sanchez to Triple-A Charlotte.

Micah Johnson has clearly emerged as the starting second baseman in Chicago. Sanchez, 22, is much better off getting regular playing time down on the farm.

Carlos Sanchez has made the White Sox' Opening Day roster.

Sanchez is viewed as the runner-up for the second base job, but a .436 batting average in Cactus League play didn't hurt his cause. White Sox manager Robin Ventura is expected to name an Opening Day starter at the keystone on Sunday. Micah Johnson is still the odds-on favorite for the job.

Carlos Sanchez was away from the White Sox Thursday in order to be with his wife for the birth of their child.

He'll presumably rejoin the club at some point over the weekend. Sanchez is hitting just .245/.258/.287 over 26 games for the White Sox this season.

Carlos Sanchez went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base against the Tigers on Sunday.

Sanchez has been on a tear since taking over for Gordon Beckham as the second baseman, as he's hit in nine of 10 games since being recalled. The 22-year-old is hitting .317 in those 10 games. The stolen base was his first of the season after swiping 16 at Triple-A Charlotte.

White Sox recalled INF Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte.

He's taking Gordon Beckham's spot on the roster. Sanchez has batted .293/.349/.412 with seven homers, 57 RBI and 16 steals at Charlotte this season and is worth a look in AL-only formats, though he could fall back into a utility role when Marcus Semien comes up next month.

Carlos Sanchez will be recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday to take Gordon Beckham's spot on the roster.

That means Marcus Semien will not be recalled, at least not until September. Sanchez was hitless in five at-bats for the big club earlier this season but has batted .293/.349/.412 with seven homers, 57 RBI and 16 steals at Charlotte. He figures to see plenty of time at second base and is worth a look in AL-only formats.

He'll provide some infield depth with Alexei Ramirez (back) banged up. Sanchez, 22, was batting .291/.352/.405 with five homers, 42 RBI and 12 steals at Charlotte. He'll be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.

White Sox purchased the contract of INF Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte.

Sanchez is now on Chicago's 40-man roster. The 21-year-old is coming off a disappointing year in which he hit just .241/.293/.296 over 479 plate appearances in Triple-A, but the White Sox aren't ready to give up on him yet.
