Well at least Scahill's second stint with Pittsburgh this year went better than his first. In four outings, he only allowed one unearned run with four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. The 29-year-old will get another shot with the Pirates at some point in 2016.

He'll then throw 50 pitches and/or three innings at Double-A Altoona in the middle of next week. It's possible Scahill, who has been out since late June with right forearm tightness, will be ready for activation after that.
