Paco Rodriguez (back) threw a successful 30-pitch bullpen session at full effort on Wednesday.

Rodriguez will accompany the Dodgers to San Francisco this weekend and face live hitters either Friday or Saturday in a simulated appearance. If that goes well, the left-hander should be added back to the active roster early next week. He has been on the disabled list since early August with a teres major muscle strain.

Paco Rodriguez (back) is on track to pitch a simulated game on Friday or Saturday.

That's assuming he gets through another bullpen session Wednesday with no issues. Rodriguez could be activated from the disabled list if the sim game over the weekend goes well. He's been out since early August with a teres major strain.
Sep 9 - 7:40 PM

Paco Rodriguez (back) threw his third bullpen session Tuesday since landing on the disabled list.

Rodriguez has recovered nicely from a teres major strain in the back of his shoulder but is still likely a couple weeks away from being activated. "He still does feel a little something the next day and things like that," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. "So we’re still moving forward with him." The lefty holds a 4.35 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 13 relief appearances this season.

Paco Rodriguez (back) has begun a sub-maximal throwing program.

Rodriguez has been on the shelf since earlier August with a teres major strain. He won't be activated until sometime next month.
Aug 22 - 11:08 AM

Dodgers placed LHP Paco Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 4, with a teres major strain.

It's the same injury that kept Clayton Kershaw out for over a month earlier this season, so don't expect Rodriguez back until well into September. Pedro Baez has replaced him on the roster.
Aug 5 - 6:25 PM

Dodgers recalled LHP Paco Rodriguez from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Rodriguez will replace Paul Maholm -- out for the season -- as a left-handed option out of the bullpen. Rodriguez has struggled in the bigs this year, allowing 10 hits and five earned runs in 8 1/3 innings. Of course, he entered this season boasting a 2.21 ERA and 10.2 K.9 rate in his first 87 MLB appearances.

Apr 29 - 10:31 PM

Dodgers optioned LHP Paco Rodriguez to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Rodriguez gets the demotion despite a 3.18 ERA with five strikeouts over his first 5 2/3 relief innings. He doesn't figure to be on the farm long before getting another shot.
Apr 15 - 8:27 PM

The Dodgers will not carry Paco Rodriguez and Chris Capuano on their NLCS roster.

The Dodgers have decided to use Edinson Volquez as their long man instead of Capuano. Rodriguez being left off the roster is definitely a surprise, as he boasts a 2.21 ERA and 10.2 K.9 rate in his first 87 big league appearances. J.P. Howell will be busy out of the club's bullpen.

Paco Rodriguez was perfect for two innings Monday and picked up a save against the Cardinals with Kenley Jansen unavailable.

Rodriguez came in after Ronald Belisario hit David Freese with a pitch to begin the eighth. He got Jon Jay to pop up a bunt and then induced a double-play ball from Tony Cruz before pitching a flawless ninth. It was his second save, the other coming in June in relief of a struggling Brandon League. He'll continue to be used as a lefty specialist for the most part, but he's just fine against righties, too.

Paco Rodriguez pitched out of a Brandon League jam to earn his first career save Tuesday against the Giants.

With Kenley Jansen needed the night off, League came into a 6-3 game and gave up a bloop single, an RBI double and a single before being pulled. Rodriguez took over then and allowed an RBI single, but he was able to retire three in a row after that. The last out came on Marco Scutaro's shot to deep center, which was hauled in by a running Matt Kemp.
