Braves acquired LHP Paco Rodriguez from the Dodgers in the three-team, 13-player Hector Olivera trade.
Rodriguez has been limited to 10 1/3 innings of relief this season due to left elbow issues, but he resumed throwing on Wednesday and could make his Braves debut at some point in September. The 24-year-old has flashed the stuff of a top left-handed specialist. Jul 30 - 3:56 PM

Paco Rodriguez will undergo surgery to remove loose bodies in his pitching elbow.

Rodriguez has been dealing with a bone spur in his left elbow and thought he would be able to pitch through it, but continued pain has forced him to reevaluate. He will be sidelined for the next 8-10 weeks before hopefully rejoining the Dodgers bullpen.

Jun 12 - 8:58 PM

Paco Rodriguez underwent an MRI which showed no difference in his elbow from the time he was signed.

In other words, the Dodgers didn't find anything to be alarmed about. Rodriguez was placed on the disabled list over the weekend with a left elbow strain and will be shut down for a few days before resuming a throwing program. There's no clear timetable for his return.

Dodgers placed LHP Paco Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 30, with a left elbow strain.

Paco Rodriguez (back) threw a successful 30-pitch bullpen session at full effort on Wednesday.

Rodriguez will accompany the Dodgers to San Francisco this weekend and face live hitters either Friday or Saturday in a simulated appearance. If that goes well, the left-hander should be added back to the active roster early next week. He has been on the disabled list since early August with a teres major muscle strain.

Paco Rodriguez (back) is on track to pitch a simulated game on Friday or Saturday.

That's assuming he gets through another bullpen session Wednesday with no issues. Rodriguez could be activated from the disabled list if the sim game over the weekend goes well. He's been out since early August with a teres major strain.

Paco Rodriguez (back) threw his third bullpen session Tuesday since landing on the disabled list.

Rodriguez has recovered nicely from a teres major strain in the back of his shoulder but is still likely a couple weeks away from being activated. "He still does feel a little something the next day and things like that," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. "So we’re still moving forward with him." The lefty holds a 4.35 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 13 relief appearances this season.

Dodgers placed LHP Paco Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 4, with a teres major strain.

It's the same injury that kept Clayton Kershaw out for over a month earlier this season, so don't expect Rodriguez back until well into September. Pedro Baez has replaced him on the roster.

Of course, he entered this season boasting a 2.21 ERA and 10.2 K.9 rate in his first 87 MLB appearances.
