Nationals RHP prospect Greg Ross hurled seven shutout innings Tuesday in a win for Double-A Harrisburg.
He matched his longest outing of the year while limiting Hartford to three hits and a walk. The 26-year-old induced 15 groundouts Tuesday while throwing 49 of his 76 pitches for strikes. Ross began the year at High-A Potomac but earned a promotion by recording a stingy 1.45 ERA over his first 10 outings. He's only stuck out 22 hitters over 38 innings this year, though opponents have hit only .206 against Ross in 136 at-bats. Wed, Jun 8, 2016 03:54:00 PM

Orioles signed RHP Greg Ross to a minor league contract.

The 26-year-old right-hander spent the first five seasons of his professional career in the Braves organization. He posted a 3.99 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 80/47 K/BB ratio over 137 2/3 innings at Double-A Mississippi in 2015. He's nothing more than a depth signing for the O's.

Tigers acquired RHP Greg Ross from the Braves to complete the Jeff Baker trade.

Ross was the player to be named later in the deal. The 23-year-old right-hander had a 4.60 ERA and 106/40 K/BB ratio in 131 innings this season in 21 starts and four relief appearances with Class A Rome. Baseball America didn't include him among the Braves' top 30 prospects coming into the season.
