According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, the Brewers are still hopeful that Michael Blazek will pitch again this season.

The right-hander was activated from the disabled list last week after missing over two weeks due to a right forearm strain, but so far he has been limited to bullpen sessions and has yet to see any game action. He owns a disappointing 5.58 ERA and 1.88 WHIP across 40 1/3 innings on the season.

Brewers activated RHP Michael Blazek from the 15-day disabled list.

He missed a little over two weeks with a right forearm strain. Blazek enjoyed a breakout season for Milwaukee in 2015 but has regressed this year by posting an ugly 5.58 ERA over 40 outings.

Michael Blazek (forearm) has resumed a throwing program.

His recovery from a forearm strain has gone more slowly than expected, but Blazek has made strides recently and a recent MRI revealed good news. He's hoping for a mid-September return.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell told reporters Wednesday that Michael Blazek's forearm rehab is "going a little slower than we anticipated."

Counsell added that there's no way of telling at this point when Blazek might return. The right-hander landed on the disabled list August 14 with a forearm strain. He had a disappointing 5.58 ERA, 1.88 WHIP, and 36/25 K/BB ratio through 40 1/3 innings this season out of the Milwaukee bullpen.
Aug 24 - 12:50 PM

Brewers placed RHP Michael Blazek on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 14, with a right forearm strain.

Damien Magnifico will replace him on the active roster. It's unclear how long he'll be sidelined. Blazek owns an ugly 5.58 ERA and 36/25 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 innings this season.
Aug 16 - 9:22 AM

Brewers recalled RHP Michael Blazek from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Blazek earns the promotion with Jacob Barnes (elbow) landing on the disabled list. The situation was actually reversed back in June, when Barnes was called up to take the place of Blazek after the latter went down with an elbow injury of his own. There is no fantasy intrigue here, though, as the 27-year-old right-hander has pitched to a dreadful 5.87 ERA over 30 2/3 innings of previous relief work with the Brew Crew this season.
Jul 27 - 4:46 PM

Brewers optioned RHP Michael Blazek to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Blazek had allowed nine earned runs in 6 2/3 innings (eight relief appearances) since returning from a sore elbow in mid-June. He'll try to get it figured out on the farm, with Corey Knebel taking his place in the Milwaukee bullpen. Blazek posted a stellar 2.43 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 55 2/3 innings for the Brewers last season.

Jun 19 - 11:16 AM

Michael Blazek (elbow) is expected to make one final appearance at Triple-A Colorado Springs.

That should happen Thursday, and he could rejoin the Brewers' bullpen over the weekend if it goes well. Blazek gave up two earned runs while recording only one out in his rehab debut Tuesday with Colorado Springs. He's been on the 15-day disabled list since May 28 because of soreness in his right elbow.
Jun 15 - 2:35 PM

Michael Blazek (elbow) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Blazek has been sidelined since May 28 due to right elbow soreness, but he's ready to get back into game action. He'll presumably need a handful of appearances before rejoining the Brewers' bullpen. The 27-year-old posted a 4.13 ERA and 21/16 K/BB ratio over 24 innings prior to hitting the DL.
