Kevin Siegrist (shoulder) will make his Grapefruit League debut on Wednesday.

Siegrist came down with some shoulder soreness early on in camp, but it's behind him now. He threw a round of batting practice on Sunday without any issues. The lefty shouldn't need much work to get geared up for the season. Siegrist, 27, compiled a 2.77 ERA over 67 appearances last season and will pitch in a set-up capacity again in 2017.
Mar 7 - 9:28 AM

Kevin Siegrist (shoulder) said his next throwing session will come in a game after he had live batting practice session with "a little more intensity" Sunday.

Siegrist dealt with some shoulder soreness early on in camp, but he appears to be past it now. The left-handed reliever has plenty of time to fine-tune things before Opening Day, provided he can avoid a setback.
Mar 5 - 12:09 PM

Kevin Siegrist (shoulder) threw live batting practice on Thursday.

It's the first time this spring that he's faced hitters, as Siegrist is a little behind schedule because of inflammation in his pitching shoulder. The left-hander should be cleared for Grapefruit League action soon.
Mar 3 - 11:32 AM

Kevin Siegrist (shoulder) threw about 25 pitches Wednesday in his first bullpen session of the spring.

Siegrist has been taking it easy in the early days of camp after coming down with some soreness around his left shoulder and triceps. He'll see how he feels on Thursday before deciding on the next step, but he's moving in the right direction. Siegrist is expected to pitch in a set-up role this season.
Feb 22 - 3:21 PM

Kevin Siegrist (shoulder) expects to begin throwing off a mound Wednesday.

Siegrist, a guy with a long list of arm troubles, has fallen behind the other pitchers in Cardinals camp due to soreness around his left shoulder and triceps. It's not a huge deal right now, but it's definitely something to monitor. Sigerist projects to pitch in seventh- and eighth-inning setup duty this year for St. Louis, if his health cooperates.
Feb 20 - 2:47 PM

Kevin Siegrist (shoulder) said he plans to throw his first bullpen session of the spring on Friday.

Siegrist skipped a scheduled throwing session Wednesday due to shoulder/triceps soreness, but it's not a major concern. The southpaw posted a 2.77 ERA over 67 appearances last season and will again be a trusted arm in the Cardinals bullpen this season.
Feb 15 - 2:23 PM

Kevin Siegrist skipped a throwing session Wednesday due to shoulder tightness.

The last thing the Cardinals need is another injury, but there's nothing to suggest that it's anything significant. Look for him to resume throwing soon.

Cardinals and LHP Kevin Siegrist avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.6375 million contract.

Kevin Siegrist served up a home run but hung on to record his third save of the season in Monday's win over the Rockies.

Seung Hwan Oh was unavailable after pitching three innings over the last two days, so Cardinals manager Mike Matheny turned to Siegrist to close it out. He certainly made it interesting, serving up a homer to Ryan Raburn, a broken-bat single to Charlie Blackmon and a walk to Carlos Gonzalez to bring up Nolan Arenado as the winning run. Arenado hit a laser, but it was right at left fielder Brandon Moss.

Kevin Siegrist worked a scoreless ninth inning against the Cubs on Tuesday to earn his second save of the season.

Siegrist struck out one without allowing a baserunner in the frame. It was a nice bounce-back after he took the loss against the Brewers his last time out. Groin soreness has sidelined closer Seung Hwan Oh in recent days, and while it seems like a fleeting injury, it appears Siegrist will get save chances in the meantime. The 27-year-old has a 2.91 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 59/25 K/BB ratio over 55 2/3 innings overall this year.

Siegrist sat down for a few days after experiencing arm fatigue, but looks to be good to go now. He worked a scoreless eighth inning, keeping the Cardinals in the game and allowing them to come back and tie it up in the ninth. The 27-year-old southpaw owns a 2.85 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 47/17 K/BB ratio over 47 1/3 innings on the season.

Kevin Siegrist (arm) is hoping to avoid the disabled list.

Siegrist got pulled after just eight pitches Sunday against the Cubs after experiencing arm fatigue. "It just hasn't been feeling too good," the left-hander said after the game. "It hasn't been too long, just a little dead-arm feeling." He might be limited to side sessions for much of this week as the Cardinals try to ensure the issue isn't serious.
