An MRI revealed no structural damage for injured right-hander Hansel Robles, which is terrific news given the scope of the injury he sustained.
He'll avoid a trip to the disabled list but may need another day or two before he's ready to pitch again out of the Mets' bullpen. Officially, the Mets are calling his injury "general fatigue". Aug 5 - 1:34 PM

Hansel Robles said he dealt with pinched genitals and hand numbness during his outing Thursday against the Rockies.

Robles injured his genitals on an awkward fall in the eighth and began to feel numbness in his hand an inning later. Perhaps that's what led to him losing the game on a walk-off wild pitch. Robles didn't alert coaches of his condition until after the game, believing he could work through it. For now, consider him day-to-day.

Mets recalled RHP Hansel Robles from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Robles began the season in a setup role but was sent down in late May after a rough start. He'll be used in lower-leverage situations this time around.

Mets optioned RHP Hansel Robles to Triple-A Las Vegas.

It wasn't too long ago that Robles looked like one of the club's better relief arms, but he has been rocked for 12 runs on 10 hits (including four home runs) and four walks in his last three appearances. His ERA now stands at 6.23 for the year. Josh Smoker will take his place in the bullpen.
May 23 - 3:15 PM

Hansel Robles fired 2 2/3 hitless innings for his first career save as part of Friday’s 10-5 win over the Phillies.

Robles was very sharp, striking out three batters and walking none while throwing 17 out of 20 pitches for strikes. It was a much-needed performance with Addison Reed and Jeurys Familia both unavailable.

Hansel Robles (ankle) allowed one run on a hit and two walks in his return to action Saturday.

Robles was unavailable for a few days due to a sprained ankle, but he appears to be over the malady. The reliever has pitched well overall for the Mets this season, although he's struggled of late.

Hansel Robles left Wednesday's game against the White Sox with a sprained right ankle.

Robles was lifted on a one-out, 3-2 count in the 12th inning. According to manager Terry Collins, he caught one of his spikes on the mound while throwing a pitch, which led to the ankle tweak. Collins did not seem particularly concerned by the injury and Robles could return in short order, but for the time being, consider him day-to-day.

Hansel Robles was lifted from Wednesday's game against the White Sox due to an apparent injury.

Robles came on to start the top of the 12th inning. With one out in the frame, he had worked up a 3-2 count on Alex Avila before needing to be attended to on the mound. He was pulled in the middle of the at-bat, a rarity. The Mets should give an update on the nature of his injury in short order.

The New York Daily News' Kristie Ackert reports that Hansel Robles has agreed to serve a two-game suspension.

Robles got into hot water after throwing near the head area of the Phillies' Cameron Rupp near the end of the 2015 campaign. He was initially hit with a three-game suspension, which he appealed in early October. The situation has just reached its conclusion now, with one game being sliced off. According to the Daily News' report, the 25-year-old right-hander will sit out the Mets' first two games of the season against the Royals, starting on April 3. Mets manager Terry Collins indicated on Saturday that Robles has a secure spot in the bullpen.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Saturday that Hansel Robles is one of five hurlers with a secure spot in the club's Opening Day bullpen.

He joins Jeurys Familia, Antonio Bastardo, Addison Reed and Jerry Blevins. The final two spots will come down to a battle between Erik Goeddel, Sean Gilmartin, Jim Henderson and a host of other candidates.

Hansel Robles is going to appeal his three-game suspension for "intentionally" throwing at the head area of Cameron Rupp.

The incident occurred against the Phillies on Wednesday. Because he's appealing, Robels will be available for this weekend's series against the Nationals, though their Friday contest was rained out. If Robles either loses or drops the appeal, he'll serve his three games at the start of the 2016 season.

MLB suspended Hansel Robles three games for "intentionally" throwing a pitch in the head area of Phillies catcher Cameron Rupp on Wednesday.

Robles was ejected from Wednesday's game. Assuming he doesn't appeal, he'll be done for the regular season. The suspension won't impact his availability for the postseason.

Hansel Robles was ejected from Wednesday's game against the Phillies for pitching inside to Cameron Rupp.

Both benches were warned after Logan Verrett hit Odubel Herrera -- the third beaning in the game, following Yoenis Cespedes being hit in the hand by a pitch earlier -- so Robles wasn't given much leeway when he came up and in on Rupp. Benches cleared, but cooler heads prevailed. Nothing to see here.

Hansel Robles has traveled to the Dominican Republic following a death in his family.

It's unclear when he'll return to the team. Jeurys Familia and Tyler Clippard are both unavailable for Thursday's game against the Braves, so Addison Reed could get the ball in a potential save situation.

Mets recalled RHP Hansel Robles from Triple-A Las Vegas.

He'll take the place of Jerry Blevins (arm) on the active roster. The 24-year-old has mostly pitched as a starter in the minors, posting a 3.11 ERA with 8.1 K/9 and 2.6 BB/9, but he'll pitch in middle relief during his first stint in the majors.
