Twins recalled LHP Nik Turley from Triple-A Rochester.

Buddy Boshers was optioned to Rochester in the corresponding move. The Twins wanted a fresh bullpen arm for the second game of their day/night doubleheader against the Indians. The left-hander will fill a long/middle relief role for Minnesota.

Twins optioned LHP Nik Turley to Triple-A Rochester.

Turley has had an awesome year in the minors (2.05 ERA, 14.35 K/9) but obviously it hasn't translated to the big leagues. He didn't make it out of the first inning Thursday against the White Sox and now sports a miserable 16.39 ERA in his three starts for Minnesota. It could be a while before he gets another shot.
Jun 22 - 10:19 PM

Nik Turley was blasted for five runs on six hits in just 2/3 of an inning in Thursday's loss to the White Sox.

Turley was out of this one before it even really got started, with the loudest blows in a five-run first coming on two-run home runs to Jose Abreu and Todd Frazier. The 27-year-old southpaw has surrendered 13 runs on 15 hits in just 5 1/3 innings in two starts since the Twins purchased his contract from Triple-A Rochester on June 11. He may well be heading back to Rochester following this most recent debacle.
Jun 22 - 9:52 PM

Nik Turley was tagged for eight earned runs, nine hits and four walks across 4 2/3 innings in a loss Friday against the Indians.

Turley threw just 43 of his 76 pitches for strikes and he looked overmatched for the second time in as many starts since his recall from Triple-A Rochester. He is 0-1 with a 12.46 ERA and an unsightly 2.42 WHIP through 8 2/3 innings. It wouldn't be surprising to see him returned to the Red Wings after this disaster.
Jun 17 - 2:46 AM

Twins purchased the contract of LHP Nik Turley from Triple-A Rochester.

Turley, 27, will make his major league debut on Sunday versus the Giants. He's posted a nice 2.05 ERA and 85/14 K/BB ratio in 52 2/3 innings this season between the Double-A and Triple-A, but Turley isn't a recommended fantasy option.
Jun 11 - 12:20 PM

Nik Turley will make his major league debut on Sunday versus the Giants.

Turley has registered a promising 2.05 ERA and 85/14 K/BB ratio in 52 2/3 innings this season between the Double-A and Triple-A affiliates of the Twins. The former 50th-round draft pick will finally get a shot at the major league level after bouncing around the minors and independent ball for nearly a decade.
Jun 10 - 8:38 AM

Twins signed LHP Nik Turley to a minor league contract.

Turley split the 2016 season between independent ball and the Double-A affiliate of the Red Sox, posting mostly underwhelming numbers. The 27-year-old has yet to appear in a major league game and it probably won't happen in Minnesota, though lefty relievers do tend to get nine lives. Turley was a 50th-round pick of the Yankees in 2008.

White Sox signed LHP Nik Turley to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

The 26-year-old southpaw spent the 2015 campaign in the Giants organization, compiling a 4.39 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 89/50 K/BB ratio over 108 2/3 innings. He'll function as minor league rotation depth for the White Sox.

Giants signed LHP Nik Turley to a minor league contract.

Turley, 25, had a rough 4.62 ERA and 44/43 K/BB ratio over 60 1/3 innings this past season with the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate. He's likely to function as minor league pitching depth for San Francisco.

Yankees re-signed LHP Nik Turley to a minor league contract.

The Yankees cut Turley from their 40-man roster at the end of April but will keep him in the organization. The 24-year-old southpaw owns a decent 3.28 ERA and 8.5 K/9 in 486 1/3 career minor league innings.

Yankees released LHP Nik Turley.

The 24-year-old southpaw spent the 2013 season between Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he compiled a 3.79 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 141/76 K/BB ratio over 145 innings. He could attract interest elsewhere on a minor league pact.

Yankees purchased the contract of LHP Nik Turley from Double-A Trenton.

An expected move after Turley posted a 2.89 ERA and 116/44 K/BB ratio over 112 innings this season with High-A Tampa. The 23-year-old made one start with Double-A Trenton in September and will likely begin 2013 there.
