Rays signed RHP Brett Marshall to a minor league contract.
Marshall hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2013 and he finished out the 2015 season with the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League. The 25-year-old right-hander is doubtful to make any sort of significant impact with Tampa Bay. Mon, Feb 29, 2016 10:02:00 AM

Reds placed RHP Brett Marshall on the 60-day disabled list with a strained tendon in his right middle finger.

Brett Marshall struggled in Wednesday's start against the White Sox, allowing seven runs in five innings.

Marshall allowed 12 hits and walked one while striking out five. The 24-year-old right-hander is trying to pitch his way into the back of the Reds' injury-depleted rotation, but Wednesday's outing certainly won't help his cause.
