Ryan Pressly (lat) has been ruled out for the season after having a setback.

Pressly had been long-tossing as he worked his way back from a strained lat, but he's still not feeling 100 percent and the Twins don't want to push it. He made 27 appearances for the big club this season, posting a 2.93 ERA.

Twins transferred RHP Ryan Pressly from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Tyler Duffey. Pressly not won't be eligible to return from his lat injury until early September.

Ryan Pressly (lat) isn't expected to resume throwing for another four weeks.

The right-hander was placed on the disabled list earlier this week with a right lat strain. He remains optimistic that he'll be ready to rejoin the Twins bullpen in late August or early September.
Jul 10 - 10:51 PM

Twins placed RHP Ryan Pressly on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 5, with a right lat strain.

Pressly underwent an MRI on Sunday that apparently confirmed the strained lat. It's unclear how long he'll be sidelined, but it figures to be longer than a minimum DL stay.
Jul 6 - 4:10 PM

Ryan Pressly left Saturday's game against the Royals with a high lat strain.

Pressly pitched a scoreless sixth inning before coming out. It was initially thought to be a shoulder strain but now manager Paul Molitor think it's a lat injury. Pressly will have an MRI on Sunday. The 26-year-old could be headed to the disabled list.
Jul 4 - 10:57 PM

Twins recalled RHP Ryan Pressly from Triple-A Rochester.

Pressly has posted a 4.50 ERA at Rochester this season but has struck out 15 over 10 relief innings. It could be a short stay for him, as Brian Duensing (intercostal) is due back from the disabled list on Saturday.
May 1 - 2:27 PM

Twins optioned RHP Ryan Pressly to Triple-A Rochester.

The 26-year-old had been expected to earn a spot in the Opening Day bullpen as a middle reliever after posting a 2.86 ERA in 28 1/3 innings with the club in 2014. It should only be a matter of time before he gets another shot with the Twins.

Twins recalled RHP Ryan Pressly from Triple-A Rochester.

Pressly has registered a promising 2.98 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 63/21 K/BB ratio in 60 1/3 innings this season at Triple-A. He should do well in a middle relief role.

Twins optioned RHP Ryan Pressly to Triple-A Rochester.

Pressly didn't pitch well enough this spring to earn an Opening Day bullpen spot, yielding 10 hits and five earned runs in 8 1/3 Grapefruit League innings.

Ryan Pressly (shoulder) expects to be available out of the bullpen Wednesday.

Ryan Pressly left Sunday's appearance with an apparent injury.

Pressly retired two of the five batters he faced before exiting the mound with the trainer. It's not clear what malady he's dealing with, but the Twins should update his status after the game.

Ryan Pressly allowed a run over two mop-up innings in Saturday's 12-5 loss against the Red Sox.

The Twins plucked Pressly from the Red Sox with the fourth pick in last winter's Rule 5 Draft. He posted a 5.38 ERA in 103 2/3 innings last season between High- and Double-A, but has been a pleasant low-leverage surprise for the Twins thus far, logging a 1.83 ERA and 1.42 WHIP over 19 2/3 innings. His peripherals aren't good -- including a 13/10 K/BB rate -- and his ERA won't end anywhere close to where it is now, but owners in extremely deep AL-only leagues may want to take a look if they need an injury replacement in the 'pen.

Rule 5 pick Ryan Pressly has all but locked up a spot in the Twins' Opening Day bullpen.

Pressly posted a 5.38 ERA in 103 2/3 innings last season between High- and Double-A, but he's impressed the Twins with a 0.82 ERA and 0.82 WHIP over eight spring appearances. ‘‘We like him. We like him a lot,’’ manager Ron Gardenhire said. ‘‘He’s throwing the ball well. Good angle, nice little breaking ball, good velocity.’’ Gardy added that Pressly wouldn't be babied just because he has only 14 appearances above A-ball. ‘‘We think he can pitch now.’’ Gardenhire said. ‘‘Not for the future.’’
