Ender Inciarte went 3-for-5 on Tuesday to raise his average to .215.
Inciarte is the one hitter in the Braves lineup to disappoint this far, but that never figured to last for too long. One nice surprise is that he has five steals already, even though he's struggled to get on base. For all of his speed, Inciarte has never stolen more than 22 bases in a season. Apr 17 - 11:21 PM

Date:

Ender Inciarte is not in the Braves' starting lineup for Saturday's showdown against the Cubs.

The 27-year-old is off to a slow start at the plate, hitting just .179/.242/.214 with a 12/5 K/BB ratio in 63 plate appearances. Peter Bourjos is starting in his place in center field and batting eighth against Jose Quintana and the Cubs.

Ender Inciarte went 0-for-4 with a couple of strikeouts in Monday's loss to the Nationals.

The Braves have been crushing it offensively so far, but Inciarte hasn't been a big factor; he's hitting just .209 with three walks in 43 at-bats. He'll likely start hitting for average soon.
Apr 9 - 11:44 PM

Ender Inciarte had a single, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Rockies.

It's been a slow start to the season for Inciarte after his breakout 2017, as he's got hits in seven of nine games but is batting just .231/.279/.282 in that span. At least he's running, with the stolen base being his second in the first week-plus. His place atop the Braves' lineup is a prime spot for production, and it should be another good year for the 27-year-old, slow start notwithstanding.
Apr 8 - 7:12 PM

Ender Inciarte went 3-for-6 with four RBI in Saturday's 15-2 drubbing of the Phillies.

Inciarte led the way figuratively and literally (he was batting first) with his four RBI in this onslaught. He came through with a two-run single in the second, then backed that up with RBI knocks in the third and sixth innings. As a team, the Braves finished with a whopping 19 hits. And the damage actually could have conceivably been even worse for the Phillies, as just six of those 19 hits from the opposition were of the extra-base variety. For his part, Inciarte is looking to build on a career-best 2017 season in which he batted .304/.350/.409 with 11 homers, 57 RBI and 22 steals over the course of 662 at-bats.
Mar 31 - 11:19 PM

Braves manager Brian Snitker expects Ender Inciarte (groin) to return to game action on Saturday.

Inciarte was slated to hit leadoff Thursday against Detroit but was scratched due to groin tightness. Snitker confirmed the injury isn't serious and said there's "no question" Inciarte would have played if it were a regular season game. Inciarte has had a productive spring, hitting .310 across 29 Grapefruit League at-bats.
Mar 15 - 5:08 PM

Ender Inciarte was scratched from the Braves' Grapefruit League lineup Thursday due to left groin tightness.

It's not considered to be anything serious, but Inciarte will likely be given a couple days off. The 27-year-old center fielder batted .304/.350/.409 with 11 home runs and 22 stolen bases in 157 games last season for Atlanta.
Mar 15 - 1:32 PM

Ender Inciarte worked on his baserunning and defensive range this offseason with speed coach Tom Shaw.

Inciarte had a career year in many ways in 2017, slashing .304/.350/.409 over a league-leading 662 at-bats while earning his first National League All-Star nod and second Gold Glove, but he feels he can do better than the 22 stolen bases he tallied in 31 attempts. The 27-year-old center fielder carries intriguing fantasy upside as the locked-in leadoff man in a young Braves lineup that should get better and better as the 2018 season goes along.

Ender Inciarte went 3-for-4 in a loss to the Phillies on Sunday.

All three hits were singles. The Braves weren't able to get anything going against Nick Pivetta, but Inciarte appeared to have his timing pretty well. With those three hits, Inciarte now has a .307/.351/.413 line on the season. Assuming he's not dealt, he likely is an everyday player again for Atlanta next season.
