Ender Inciarte had three hits and three RBI as the Braves beat the Mets 9-7 on Tuesday.

Inciarte's .296 OBP in the leadoff spot isn't what the Braves are looking for, but it hasn't stopped him from scoring 19 runs or driving in 15 in 25 games. Five homers helps a bunch there. One imagines he'll get that OBP up further.

Ender Inciarte was front-and-center in Friday’s 5-2 victory over the Padres, going 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs scored.

It was a night of firsts at SunTrust Park and Inciarte had a lot of them. In addition to recording the first put-out in the top of the first inning, he notched the first hit with an infield single to lead off the bottom of the first and scored the first run after Nick Markakis doubled. He then hit the first homer in SunTrust Park history in the sixth. Interestingly, Inciarte has already matched his home run total from last season (three) in just nine games. The early power has been a nice surprise, but fantasy owners are mostly counting on him for batting average and speed.

He is known more for his speed than his power despite tonight's multi-homer game. He hit .291 with three homers, 85 runs scored and 16 steals last year.

Braves and OF Ender Inciarte avoided arbitration by agreeing to a five-year, $30.525 million contract extension with a $9 million club option for 2022.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports first reported the agreement, and the team has now officially announced it. Inciarte is arbitration-eligible for the first time this offseason as a Super Two player, so the deal buys out all of his arbitration years plus potentially two free agent years. These kind of contracts almost always wind up being huge bargains for the team as long as the player stays healthy, and this situation is no different. Inciarte is a career .292/.337/.385 hitter and a Gold Glove center fielder who just turned 26 in October.

Ender Inciarte went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Marlins.

Inciarte, sometimes the forgotten man in the Shelby Miller trade that sent first overall pick Dansby Swanson to the Braves along with Inciarte and Aaron Blair, has quietly had a very good first season in Atlanta. Aside from making game-saving catches, the 25-year-old is also hitting .296/.354/.389 with 16 stolen bases and 80 runs scored. If Swanson was the main prize, Inciarte has been the cherry on top for the Braves.
