Ender Inciarte (hamstring) has begun hitting in extended spring training games.

He hasn't been cleared to run the bases yet but at least it's a step in the right direction. Inciarte shouldn't be far away from a rehab stint. Beat writer David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution expects him to return in 10-14 days. Rookie Mallex Smith has been filling in at center field.
Apr 23 - 7:08 PM

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez acknowledged that Ender Inciarte (hamstring) could be out until early May.

Inciarte was placed on the disabled list April 9 with a left hamstring strain, and it's apparently not a minor one. Mallex Smith has been serving as the Braves' starting center fielder and will get a few more weeks to audition for a permanent 25-man roster spot. Smith hasn't really impressed thus far.
Apr 19 - 4:35 PM

Braves placed OF Ender Inciarte on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 9, with a strained left hamstring.

It's unclear at this point how long Inciarte, who suffered the injury on Friday, will be sidelined. Mallex Smith has been recalled to take Inciarte's spot on the roster. Smith should play regularly in center field at least against righties, with Drew Stubbs mixed in some versus lefties.
Apr 10 - 1:22 PM

Ender Inciarte (hamstring) remained out of the Braves' lineup Sunday.

He's sat out two straight days with a strained left hamstring. Drew Stubbs is again handling center field, while Erick Aybar is batting leadoff.
Apr 10 - 10:39 AM

Ender Inciarte felt significant improvement with his left hamstring on Saturday.

Inciarte exited Friday's contest after the hamstring tightness up on him, but the Braves are hopeful he can avoid a trip to the disabled list. "I think we might have dodged a bullet," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "He felt a lot better today than he did yesterday. There is a strain there, Bubba (head athletic trainer Jeff Porter) said. It’s a small degree of (strain). He’s day to day, and hopefully we can keep him out of action for a day or two and keep him off the DL, if we can get him through the next couple of days." Drew Stubbs started in center field Saturday in Inciarte's place. If the injury winds up requiring a DL stint, the Braves could promote Mallex Smith.
Apr 10 - 8:46 AM

Ender Inciarte (hamstring) is not in the Braves starting lineup on Saturday.

He's considered day-to-day after leaving Friday's game with a tight hamstring, so it's no real surprise that he's not in there the following day. Erick Aybar will move up to the leadoff spot in his absence while Drew Stubbs draws the start in center field.
Apr 9 - 2:55 PM

Ender Inciarte is considered day-to-day with hamstring tightness.

He gave fantasy owners a bit of a scare when he departed Friday's game with an undisclosed injury, though the prognosis is very encouraging. He should be able to return to the lineup before the end of the weekend.
Apr 8 - 8:46 PM

Ender Inciarte was removed from Friday's contest against the Cardinals with an apparent leg injury.

The Braves have not updated his status yet, but it looked as though it could be a hamstring injury. Inciarte missed a month during the 2015 campaign due to an issue with his hamstring. Look for an update from the Braves after the conclusion of Friday's game.
Apr 8 - 8:23 PM

Ender Inciarte is in the leadoff spot for the Braves in Monday's season opener against the Nationals.

There's not much to like about this Opening Day lineup for Atlanta against Nats ace Max Scherzer: Ender Inciarte CF, Erick Aybar SS, Freddie Freeman 1B, Adonis Garcia 3B, Nick Markakis RF, Hector Olivera LF, A.J. Pierzynski C, Jace Peterson 2B, Julio Teheran SP. One positive for this game is that the forecast around Turner Field calls for 75-degree weather and sunny skies. It's snowing in Cleveland and Monday's opener between the Astros and Yankees in New York had to be postponed due to storms.
Apr 4 - 11:50 AM

Ender Inciarte went 2-for-2 with a double and a steal against the Yankees on Saturday.

And no runs scored. That's probably going to happen all too frequently given the weakness of the Braves lineup. Inciarte will be the team's everyday center fielder, and he should be an asset in average and steals. However, he's probably a little overrated for fantasy purposes.

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that the Astros have inquired about Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte.

The Braves just acquired Inciarte from the Diamondbacks in the Shelby Miller deal, but it would be no surprise if they moved him again. However, the Astros are a bit of an odd fit, as they already have a crowded outfield with George Springer, Carlos Gomez, Colby Rasmus, Preston Tucker, and Jake Marisnick. Crasnick speculates that pursuing Inciarte could set the stage for a trade involving Gomez.
Jan 13 - 11:50 AM

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that the Braves have received "a steady stream of inquiries" on outfielder Ender Inciarte since acquiring him from the Diamondbacks last week.

Crasnick hears that the Braves envision Inciarte as their starting center fielder and leadoff man, but they are in rebuild mode and are willing to listen. The Cubs are one of the teams who have reportedly expressed interest. Inciarte batted .303/.338/.408 over 132 games this past season and is under team control through 2020.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Cubs are "one of a number of teams" that have inquired on Ender Inciarte.

The Braves just acquired Inciarte from the Diamondbacks, but they're open to flipping him to another club if it makes sense. ESPN's Jayson Stark reported last week that around a dozen teams have inquired about the outfielder's availability. The Cubs would put Inciarte in center field and move Jason Heyward to right, which would be a trade of Jorge Soler. However, as Rosenthal notes, if Chicago makes a trade it is more likely to be for a starting pitcher.
Sun, Dec 13, 2015 10:43:00 AM

According to ESPN's Jayson Stark, the Braves are open to trading outfielder Ender Inciarte.

Inciarte was part of the big package Atlanta acquired from Arizona in this week's Shelby Miller trade. Stark says a dozen teams have already called the Braves about the 25-year-old, who hit .303/.338/.408 with six home runs, 45 RBI, and 21 stolen bases in 132 games for the Diamondbacks in 2015. Inciarte carries five years of contractual control. It comes as no shock that he's popular.
