T.J. McFarland (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Sunday.

X-rays on T.J. McFarland's left elbow revealed no damage.

McFarland felt something in his elbow during his second Grapefruit League appearance of the spring on Sunday against the Red Sox. Coincidental or perhaps not, he was rocked for two runs on five hits across just 1 1/3 innings in that showing. His X-rays came back clean, though, and there's no plan for an MRI at this point. The 26-year-old southpaw is uncertain as to when he will begin to throw again and there's no current timetable for his return to the mound.

T.J. McFarland and Vance Worley could be on the roster bubble if the Orioles sign Yovani Gallardo.

Worley was considered the favorite for the No. 5 spot in Baltimore's starting rotation but that's not happening if the O's sign Gallardo. The Orioles probably don't need two long relievers, which means one of McFarland or Worley will be on the outside looking in. Nothing is official with Gallardo yet but Brittany Ghiroli of reported the two sides are "optimistic."

Coming on to pitch after a long rain delay in Thursday's contest with the Blue Jays, T.J. McFarland supplied four innings of one-run ball.

Tyler Wilson started for the Orioles, but after one inning, the skies opened up and the game was delayed for several hours. Wilson didn't trot back out, leaving McFarland to do some nice work over four innings of relief. He scattered five hits, struck out two and allowed one run courtesy of a Munenori Kawasaki RBI ground out in the fourth inning. In 28 games this season, the 26-year-old McFarland has pitched to a tough 4.82 ERA and 1.79 WHIP across 37 1/3 innings.
