McFarland was only up for the Orioles' doubleheader Saturday against Tampa Bay. He actually picked up a win in the nightcap, scattering three hits and one walk over two shutout frames. McFarland will continue to shuttle between Baltimore and Norfolk throughout the year.

McFarland injured his left knee making a start for Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, but on the positive side, no structural damage was found when he underwent an MRI. Assuming his simulated game goes well, he could return to minor league action in relatively short order.

The Orioles received some good news on Sunday when an MRI revealed no structural damage in the left knee of T.J. McFarland.

McFarland underwent the exam as a precautionary measure after injuring his start at Triple-A Norfolk on Friday. He should only miss a couple of days after receiving a cortisone injection.

T.J. McFarland will undergo an MRI after injuring his left knee in Friday's start for Triple-A Norfolk.

He'll be evaluated by team orthopedist Dr. Michael Jacobs. McFarland only expects to be out a few days but the Orioles still felt it necessary to give him an MRI. "Stay on the safe side, see what we're dealing with," said manager Buck Showalter. The Orioles optioned McFarland to Norfolk back on May 7.
