Brewers general manager Doug Melvin announced Sunday evening that the team has fired manager Ron Roenicke.
The organization will name Roenicke's successor on Monday. The Brewers exercised his option for the 2016 season only six weeks ago despite the fact that they stumbled down the stretch in 2014. Milwaukee currently own the worst record in the National League at 7-18 and the club sits 11 1/2 games back in the National League Central standings. Sun, May 3, 2015 10:21:00 PM

Brewers exercised manager Ron Roenicke's option for the 2016 season.

The announcement was made Thursday morning in Brewers camp. Milwaukee stumbled to an 82-80 finish last season despite leading the National League Central for 153 days, but it would be unfair to blame Roenicke for that collapse and the Brewers didn't want him to be a lame duck in 2015. Roenicke is 335-313 in his four seasons at the helm for Milwaukee.

Brewers named Darnell Coles as hitting coach.

The club's previous hitting coach, Jerry Narron, was let go at the end of the regular season. Coles, a former major league outfielder who played for eight different teams, served as the Tigers' assistant hitting coach in 2013. He'll work under Brewers manager Ron Roenicke, who was retained despite the team's late-season collapse.

The Brewers announced on Friday that Ron Roenicke will return as manager next season.

His status had been up in the air after the team's late-season collapse, but ownership ultimately decided to bring Roenicke back. The Brewers did let go of hitting coach Jerry Narron and first base coach Garth Iorg. Roenicke has guided Milwaukee to a 335-313 record over four seasons.

The Brewers announced that manager Ron Roenicke and his entire staff will return for the 2014 season.

In a difficult season that was mired by superstar Ryan Braun's suspension, and injuries to several key players, Roenicke did a nice job keeping the team together. It will be his fourth season at the helm of the Brewers.
